Emergency!

Hypochondri-Cap - S6-E23

Revealing mistake: After Johnny's line gets snarled while testing Wally's equipment at the studio, when Roy lowers himself on his own line wearing his lifebelt, we can see the added carabiners that are attached to the lifebelt which go down into Roy's pants, and are presumably attached to the extra support the actor is wearing under his pants.

Firehouse Quintet - S6-E18

Revealing mistake: At World Picture Corp, when John and the guy with the broken clavicle are lowered from the overhead joists they're both wearing lifebelts buckled around their waists. The problem is that once they reach the ground, we can see the additional carabiner attached to John's lifebelt, which is also attached to extra green support protruding from under John's shirt. We can also see the victim's additional carabiner going under his flannel shirt. While Roy is on the line with Rampart, when John removes the victim's lifebelt, the extra carabiner is still protruding from under the victim's shirt and John places his hand over it.

Computer Terror - S6-E9

Revealing mistake: When John and Roy reach the man lying near the pool with a back injury, while Thadeus keeps gnawing and grabbing at Roy's pant leg, we see the extra material that Roy has under the pants (over his socks) to prevent the dog from accidentally harming his legs.

Welcome to Santa Rosa County - S6-E10

Revealing mistake: After rescuing the burn victim from the boat's explosion, Johnny and Roy are at the back of the camper with the victim, while the victim's wife drives the camper to the clinic, but when they arrive at the clinic the camper hasn't even stopped yet, and we can see the woman's legs at the side of the camper, waiting for her cue to come rushing to the camper's rear door when her husband is brought out.

Bottom Line - S6-E17

Revealing mistake: While the guys are eating chilli at the table, when Station 51 is dispatched to 'man down', notice that when they're at the scene, both paramedics are wearing their jackets and Johnny is wearing his helmet. We never see Johnny's face in any of the wide shots, because the entire time it's the double with Roy. We only see Johnny alone in a few closeups, pickup shots which were filmed later, and we can see the style of the houses in the closeups do not resemble the houses in the other shots. The real Johnny is back, once they reach the hospital.

Firehouse Quintet - S6-E18

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the gas explosion at the cafeteria, during the actual rescue the four firemen we see in closeup in the cafeteria are supposed to be Roy, Johnny, Chet, and Marco, but it's really odd that all are the doubles, very obvious in the closeups. There's little dialogue during this scene, which was dubbed later in ADR.

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to a man trapped at World Picture Corp, just as they reach the entrance to World Picture Corp, the Sheraton-Universal is seen on the corner, and the street sign for touring Universal Studios is visible as well.

Upward and Onward - S6-E22

Revealing mistake: At the movie studio, when the actor who plays Dr. Ned is loaded onto the ambulance stretcher, their set's 'fake' window area is the same as Rampart's 'real' hallway later in the episode. We can see this when Brackett, Early and Dix walk down the hallway to kick Dr. Ned's film crew out of his room. Pretty funny to see the same chairs, wall, window with painted exterior backdrop and color stripes on the floor. This area of Rampart can also be seen in the previous episode 'Family Ties', when the clock radio shorts out causing a fire in the patient's room.

Insanity Epidemic - S6-E14

Revealing mistake: At the gas station with the broken pump nozzle, Captain Stanley and the station attendant head to the garage area to see the main shut-off circuit box, which is located at the far right corner of the garage, but in the next shot, we can see the attendant's reflection behind Roy, and he's standing somewhere else off camera, not where he's supposed to be in the next shot with Captain Stanley.

Revealing mistake: At the site of the hang gliding accident, just after the glider falls, in the long shot when Johnny and Chet pull the unconscious victim higher on the cliff, the victim is supposed to be unconscious, yet we see him use his right leg to push himself higher up to help John and Chet pull him up.

Revealing mistake: At the studio, in the overhead shot just as the squad is about to reach the building where Johnny will be testing Wally's equipment, the 'Black Tower', which houses Universal's executive offices, is visible in the background, and then in the roof shots when each of the guys repels down individually, the Sheraton-Universal is visible in the background.

Not Available - S6-E2

Revealing mistake: During the rescue at the jail, while Roy tries to get a safety belt around the prisoner's waist, the man freaks out, then grabs Roy and they both swing out on Roy's safety line. When the camera pans a bit too far to the left, we can see the edge of the fake "sky" screen on the left, behind the building's replica set used for closeups.

The Boat - S6-E19

Revealing mistake: When Dixie's in the basement asking Gary why the lab is still backed up, the next shot shows the plumber working in the cabinet under the sink, but when it cuts to the next shot the plumber is gone, his tool box is closed, things are different/missing from the counters, and the tables and stools have been turned over with a mess all around, before the explosion even occurs.

The Unlikely Heirs - S6-E3

Revealing mistake: After the husband and wife are pulled from the plane wreck, they're lying on the ground while Roy and Johnny are treating them. In this wide shot, which lasts about 12 seconds, have a look at Roy's face. He has no eyes or eyebrows, as part of his face has been blurred out, and when Roy moves his face it's quite bizarre to look at. Whoever edited and blurred Roy's face in this footage even matched his skin tone. This is visible on Netflix as well as the DVD, which was created in 2010 by Universal Studios, where Emergency! was filmed during its run on the air in the '70s. Don't know why this was done, but it's there.

Revealing mistake: At the structure fire at an abandoned building, when Engine 164 arrives we see that it has distinctive markings beside the driver's side door and tire rim. When Engine 72 arrives the same markings are in the same place, revealing that it's the same engine and they used different magnetic number decals for the engine.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Revealing mistake: When the woman from the car accident is in the ER, she goes into V-fib, so Brackett, Morton, Roy and Johnny work on her and defib four times without success, and as we hear the hum of the flatlining, the camera pans to the left just low enough so that we can see her lying on the gurney, with her blue shirt still buttoned up.

Revealing mistake: After Roy and John meet the new supply nurse, when Squad 51 rolls back into the station the license plate number on the back of Engine 51 ends in 174, but the engine's plate number should read 999058. Engine 127's license plate number is 180174.

Family Ties - S6-E16

Revealing mistake: When the fire is started in the patient's room, which is caused by liquid shorting out the clock radio, at the end of the hallway we can see through the window's open shades and the view right outside the window is quite pretty, but in all of the exterior shots of Rampart there is no such view on any of its sides. It's a matte painting.

Welcome to Santa Rosa County - S6-E10

Revealing mistake: While in Santa Rosa County, after Roy and John rescue the two injured rock climbers, and also later after they rescue the burn victim from the lake, the Richards ambulance that transports the patients has license plate number "Z125631" which is pretty funny. That plate number should look familiar, as it's the same plate number on the ambulance in LA County, seen in many episodes such as "Rules of Order", "Unlikely Heirs", and "Not Available."

Not Available - S6-E2

Revealing mistake: On the roof of the jail, Roy buckles his safety belt around his waist, with an extra belt for the prisoner hanging from it as well. When Roy removes the second belt from his own, we can see two carabiners that are now attached to his lifebelt, which go down into Roy's pants. Those carabiners are presumably attached to extra support under Roy's pants.

Revealing mistake: During the rescue of the two mountain climbers who are stuck on the side of a building, when Johnny and Roy are hanging from the lines which are attached to the lifebelts buckled around their waists, we can also see that attached to their lifebelts are carabiners, which are tucked inside their shirts. Those carabiners are presumably attached to extra support under their clothing. Johnny's is particularly visible, while Roy tries to cover his carabiners with his hand.

Rules of Order - S6-E6

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to "accident with injuries," en route one of the camera angles is from the POV behind Roy and John, where the back of the squad is located. The problem is that there's bright sunlight on their backs as they’re driving, when it shouldn't be there. Artistic license is acceptable, but having so much sunlight where it should not be reveals that Squad 51 is not in its normal state.

Paper Work - S6-E11

Revealing mistake: At the start of the episode, when the camera zooms in on the words 'Los Angeles County Fire Station 51' which are attached to the side of the building, we can see that this shot is actually played in reverse - notice the cars/trucks behind the station are driving backwards. Additionally, note that the real 127's rig is seen in the driveway to the right. Also interesting to notice are the upper/lower metal bars which are attached to the bricks, where we can see the bars are much longer after 'Station 51', with a space for something missing, due to the fact that is was made to hold '127' on it.

[Henry, the dog who is never ever off the couch, whimpers.]
Johnny: [Talking to Henry, while typing on the typewriter.] Sorry. Didn't mean to disturb you. Acting kinda uppity aren't you? I may put you in the script. Yeah. A dog that does nothing. [Henry whimpers.] Just sits there. People like that, y'know. A schleppy dog. You'll schlep out on stage and schleep on the couch. Dumb dog! [Henry whimpers.] Making me feel guilty. Why don't you howl or something?

Mistakes

When Roy is electrocuted and falls from the roof, after Karen uses the defibrillator paddles on Roy, she lifts both paddles, looks at the EKG monitor and says "He's converted." How exactly could Karen have known that he's converted? It's impossible for the EKG monitor to show anything at all. Either the defib paddles have be in contact with Roy's body for the “quick-look” to get a reading, which they weren't, or the ECG electrode discs have to be on Roy's chest connecting him to the EKG monitor, and they weren't. As an aside, just watching Marco having problems attaching the air mask, and quickly glancing up towards the camera frustrated, then giving up is priceless.

Trivia

In addition to Randolph Mantooth's brother Donald appearing in this episode, while Roy and John are in Mrs. Johnson's apartment, when Roy's telling John some of the plants' names, John picks up a plant from the table and asks Roy what its name is. And when Roy answers, "Sadie", John smiles at the plant and says, "Hey, Sadie, how you doing?" Sadie is Mantooth's mother's name.
