Other mistake: When John and Roy get back to the station, they head to the kitchen and John takes the hot pot of stew out of the oven with potholders, and when he quickly tries to lift the lid without the potholder, his pain makes it clear that it's burning hot, so he uses the mitt to lift the lid. There's a long metal serving spoon that was left in the stew, and John just lifts it up and starts serving the stew with no problem, even though that spoon should have been too hot to even touch.

Other mistake: When Tommy's on the ledge, and Roy and John are on the aerial ladder, just as Tommy jumps off the ledge and Roy catches him, we can see the young actor happy and grinning as he's being caught by Kevin Tighe, but within the very serious storyline of a 7 year old boy jumping from a ledge, looking "empty, tired and giving up", this doesn't fit. Obviously the young actor thought it was great fun to do a stunt like that.

Other mistake: On site with the boy on the ledge, when Truck 85 raises the aerial ladder Roy stands by and waits to go up with Johnny behind him. Both Roy and Johnny are the only ones not wearing their turnouts, and both of their watches are on their left wrists, but when 85's aerial apparatus operator says "Desoto, up the aerial," the bare arm we see beside him is wearing the watch on his right wrist. This is not a flipped shot.

Other mistake: At the start of this episode Squad 51 heads out to the construction site with the screaming woman, and Roy and John are in their full turnout gear, which means they've just spent the night at the station and it's early morning at the end of their 24-hr shift, yet back at the station Roy and John are getting into their uniform at the start of their shift, which is 8:00AM. Joanne Worley's screaming segment was filmed for an earlier episode, but was inserted into this episode.

What's funny is that the two incident scenes are filmed at the same corner of the intersection, with Universal's 'Black Tower' nearby. Have a look.

Other mistake: When Johnny and Roy take the elevator with the nurse, they take the elevator near the nurses' station, at the south end of the ER wing, and Johnny follows the nurse onto the 4th floor to try and get her name. This is completely impossible considering the actual floor plan of the hospital, since in all of the exterior shots of the ER it's only 2 storeys.

However, when they're dispatched we see that the rigs are actually pulling away from the same corner but facing opposite directions, note the area and background. When Roy is electrocuted and falls from the roof, after Karen uses the defibrillator paddles on Roy, she lifts both paddles, looks at the EKG monitor and says "He's converted." How exactly could Karen have known that he's converted? It's impossible for the EKG monitor to show anything at all. Either the defib paddles have be in contact with Roy's body for the “quick-look” to get a reading, which they weren't, or the ECG electrode discs have to be on Roy's chest connecting him to the EKG monitor, and they weren't. As an aside, just watching Marco having problems attaching the air mask, and quickly glancing up towards the camera frustrated, then giving up is priceless.
