The Mouse - S4-E20

Revealing mistake: At the apartment complex fire, after Johnny is knocked unconscious by the explosion, when the Pasadena fireman finds him and has to lift him up, it's funny how even though Johnny's unconscious we can see that he actually helps to stand himself up, so the fireman can lift him up and carry him out.

Revealing mistake: When Squad 51 leaves Rampart, in the first interior shot facing Roy as John says, "Yeah, I'll tell ya, when it hits ya... Boy when I met Valerie it hit me," through the back window we can see movement at the back of the squad. But in the shot facing Roy when John says, "So that's that... That's exactly how it is," through that back window we can actually see a crew member's face (sideways), who has a mustache, right behind John's head, as he's riding on the back of the moving squad. Revealing mistake: While the guys are eating chilli at the table, when Station 51 is dispatched to 'man down', notice that when they're at the scene, both paramedics are wearing their jackets and Johnny is wearing his helmet. We never see Johnny's face in any of the wide shots, because the entire time it's the double with Roy. Revealing mistake: Squad 51 has a flashing light-bar mounted on the roof of the vehicle. There is about 4-5" of space between the length of the light frame and the roof, which means that Squad 51's surrounding environment is easily visible through that gap in normal shots. The hiccup here are certain close-ups of Gage and DeSoto while they're 'driving', because that gap is covered (with red to match the vehicle) and sometimes, when it's daylight, the gap is dark. The same thing happens with the space behind the cab unit (seen through the window), with the red blocking the opening.

Revealing mistake: After Station 51 is dispatched to 'man trapped at the rock quarry', just before Squad 51 heads through the tunnel-like passageway, in the shot from the top of the squad we can see that the lightbar's chrome center and trim have been covered in black, presumably to prevent the reflection of the camera and cameraman, who's riding atop the squad.

Messin' Around - S3-E15

Revealing mistake: While John's in the ambulance with the boy who ingested the poison, after John inserts the esophageal airway and uses the ambu-bag, just as John says, "Real good," if we look out the window behind the attendant, we can see Universal's GlamourTrams (a set of three trams) driving by in the distance. The footage inside the ambulance was shot while the ambulance drove around Universal's lots.

Mascot - S1-E2

Revealing mistake: After Paula's car door is pulled open, when Roy leans her head back in the shot from behind him, we should be able to see out the right rear window, but the view has been deliberately blacked out from this POV.

Revealing mistake: At the house fire, after Roy and Johnny go upstairs to rescue the invalid woman, Captain Stanley and Chet head to the front door, and just before Cap kicks in the front door, we can see that the door isn't actually closed, it's just ajar.

That Time of Year - S6-E4

Kidding - S4-E17

Revealing mistake: After Station 51 is dispatched to the 'plane in trouble' it becomes a plane crash rescue and recovery, and when they pull out the pilot's body, who they said died on impact, his right hand moves to clasp his left wrist, and he also bends and moves his leg.

Paper Work - S6-E11

Revealing mistake: At the start of the episode, when the camera zooms in on the words 'Los Angeles County Fire Station 51' which are attached to the side of the building, we can see that this shot is actually played in reverse - notice the cars/trucks behind the station are driving backwards. Additionally, note that the real 127's rig is seen in the driveway to the right. Also interesting to notice are the upper/lower metal bars which are attached to the bricks, where we can see the bars are much longer after 'Station 51', with a space for something missing, due to the fact that is was made to hold '127' on it.

Computer Error - S3-E14

Revealing mistake: When the guys are in the backyard with the woman who fell through the ground into an old abandoned well, in the overhead shot we can see the cuts that created the cutout hole on the flat surface around her, and that it's not really dirt or sand that she's slipping through.

Snakebite - S3-E6

Revealing mistake: After the snakebite, when the guys carry Johnny and place him at the back of Engine 51, the chrome spotlights are shiny and reflective, but in the closeups the spotlight near Marco has been partially sprayed with a dulling spray, to prevent the camera's reflection.

The Old Engine - S3-E2

Revealing mistake: At the structure fire, when Engine 9 and Engine 17 roll up, we can see the large, red, rectangular vinyl material that is adhered to the front of the engines, with their company numbers printed on it. Additionally, the red vinyl material adhered to the top of 9's and 17's cabs, which cover their real company numbers, flap up in the wind.

Publicity Hound - S1-E8

Revealing mistake: On scene with the little girl trapped in the hole, when they shine the flashlight down the hole in the overhead closeup, it's too obvious that it's a doll with its arm raised up, plus the fact that we see plenty of space around the doll, contradicting the plot of the little girl being wedged in a tight space.

Foreign Trade - S4-E9

Revealing mistake: When Johnny and Roy are at the top of the open drawbridge, Johnny is wearing a watch on his left wrist, but when his stunt double rescues the woman in the car dangling off the edge, he is not wearing a watch. Additionally, the stuntman's pompier belt has a large axe sheath attached to it, but Johnny's life belt does not, and the stuntman's arms are much hairier, as usual.

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the chimney explosion, en route there is a moving bird's-eye view as the filming chopper follows 51's vehicles making a right turn. On the ground below, there are two people standing beside a blue station wagon, and one points up to the chopper flying overhead.

Revealing mistake: During the rescue of the man trapped in the submerged car, when 110's Captain hands John and Roy (in the water) the special cave-in gear's air hose, then when he opens the O2 valve and also when he revs up the jaws, we see that the boat's port side has a taught line tying it off at the stern in the closeups (seen from the boat's deck) to prevent it moving, but in the long shots there is no line.

Revealing mistake: In episode 2x5, "Peace Pipe", when Brackett gets on the line with Johnny, who's at the scene of the drunk driver's accident, Brackett presses two buttons - the third and fifth, to record the conversation on the tape machine. However, in this episode when Dixie gets on the line with Johnny, while he's with the little girl whose arm is stuck in the pool drain, Dixie presses only one button - the second, to record the conversation.

Revealing mistake: When Gage and DeSoto are on scene with the unconscious woman and a dog, they break the front window of the house. In the interior shot as DeSoto climbs through the window, there is a white wall beside the window outside, which blocks the view of the "outside." That wall does not exist in the exterior shots. The same thing happens when Gage opens the front door.

[Henry, the dog who is never ever off the couch, whimpers.]
Johnny: [Talking to Henry, while typing on the typewriter.] Sorry. Didn't mean to disturb you. Acting kinda uppity aren't you? I may put you in the script. Yeah. A dog that does nothing. [Henry whimpers.] Just sits there. People like that, y'know. A schleppy dog. You'll schlep out on stage and schleep on the couch. Dumb dog! [Henry whimpers.] Making me feel guilty. Why don't you howl or something?

Mistakes

When Roy is electrocuted and falls from the roof, after Karen uses the defibrillator paddles on Roy, she lifts both paddles, looks at the EKG monitor and says "He's converted." How exactly could Karen have known that he's converted? It's impossible for the EKG monitor to show anything at all. Either the defib paddles have be in contact with Roy's body for the “quick-look” to get a reading, which they weren't, or the ECG electrode discs have to be on Roy's chest connecting him to the EKG monitor, and they weren't. As an aside, just watching Marco having problems attaching the air mask, and quickly glancing up towards the camera frustrated, then giving up is priceless.
