Visible crew/equipment: After they finally get an address for the attempted suicide Squad 51 takes off, and when Engine 51 pulls away from the curb, the shadow of cinematographic equipment is visible on the engine's front, and the reflection of lighting equipment is visible on the side of the engine.

Other mistake: When they're trying to identify the address of the attempted suicide, Engine 51 stops and is standing by at 223 Street and Ridgely, while the squad drives elsewhere, and when Squad 51 stops it's standing by at 218 Street and Carson. However, when they're dispatched we see that the rigs are actually pulling away from the same corner but facing opposite directions, note the area and background. Then when Johnny and Roy put on their turnouts, in the next shot of Engine 51 it's now driving towards the camera in the opposite direction on the same street they had pulled away from.

Other mistake: When Dixie's on the phone with the suicide attempt, Dixie tells her the date of her own birthday, hoping to get the caller's birthday in return. Then when the caller tells Dixie that the month of her birth is February, while Brackett's listening, they don't contact Early who's with the senior data analyst with that crucial information to help narrow down her identity faster, which was the whole point of Dixie trying to get that information from her.

Other mistake: During the fire at the horse ranch, when Engine 40 rolls up we can see that the engine company's number is covered atop the cab, and the large, red rectangular vinyl material that's adhered to the back of the engine with nothing on it. Presumably covering the real engine company's number.

Other mistake: When the dispatcher sends Squad 51 to the heart attack at the bank robbery location, the address is given as "2057 North Hillcrest, cross street Barker," but when they arrive at the corner bank, the sign reads Celis Street.

Continuity mistake: After John spots a cute nurse talking to Dixie, when he zeros in on Dix for the nurse's name Dixie's holding a pad in her left hand, but in the next closeup her left hand's empty as she gives John an entire run-down on that nurse.

Audio problem: After Johnny gets out of the elevator, Johnny sees a crowd around the treatment room, so Roy tells him that they're interviewing the bank guard who was shot, and when we hear Roy ask, "How'd you make out with the girl from orthopedics," his mouth is saying something different.

Trainee - S2-E8

Roy: I think you're on some sort of an ego trip, Ed. And in my book that makes you a very dangerous character.
Ed: [Laughs.] Ego trip, huh? Well, I didn't realize that psychiatry was part of the paramedic's training.
Roy: Oh that's good, Ed, you be funny. But that isn't gonna change anything. You wanna know what I figure? Well, I figure when you were working in Vietnam, it was rough. So rough you started playing over your head. And you were making it, you were doing real good. Considering it was a combat situation. And pretty soon you started getting all blown up about how Ed Marlowe is just as good as the real doctors. And you've been living on that ever since. And the trouble is, Ed, you are good. Except for two little problems. You can't quit competing with real doctors. And you can't face being wrong. You see, those people we treat out there, I mean the people we work for, the people who pay for this whole operation, they're real people, Ed, with real problems. And they have a right to expect more than just being used by you for some sort of trip. [Completely exasperated.] I guess what I'm trying to say to you, Ed, is that in my book you're just plain unprofessional.
[Ed walks out.]
John: Do you think it did any good?
Roy: Do you?

The Game - S6-E1

Trivia: It's in this episode that the Heimlich Maneuver is used for the first time by the paramedics. At the USC game, when a guy is choking on a hot dog, John and Roy are called, and John uses the Heimlich. Up until season 6 we've seen the guys use other methods, such as the ChokeSaver which look like huge white tweezers, to remove obstructions in an airway, as seen in 4x9, "Foreign Trade."

The Mouse - S4-E20

Question: The old man that comes in with his wife that can't breathe, the one that the head nurse tries to counsel and tempts him with a cup of coffee. I believe he is Alfred Hitchcock, though his name is not listed anywhere. Alfred Hitchcock is known for his cameo appearances in his own shows and in other shows. Can someone confirm that this is him? This is driving me nuts... It is toward the end of the episode, but I cannot give you times.

Answer: I believe you are speaking of the old man, Mr. Wilson. He's played by J. Pat O'Malley.

Bishop73

Correct, it was J. Pat O'Malley...he also played the grandfather with his grandson when their rocket exploded, and also played "Old Bill" in the episode with Ann Prentiss, where Gage saves the little girl from the burning tree house, and her mother falls in love with him.
