42 mistakes

The U.N.C.L.E. Samurai Affair - S1-E27

Revealing mistake: Mark's stunt double in the final fight scene has a very bad (and obvious) brown wig. Mark's hair, however, is blond.

Jean G

The Prisoner of Zalamar Affair - S1-E2

Revealing mistake: Mark finds the bomb planted under his Jeep and puts it under the bad guy's car instead. When it explodes, there's a huge cloud of smoke, but before the shot cuts, you can see that the car is completely undamaged.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Atlantis Affair - S1-E9

Audio problem: When LeGallows complains that the road is unendurable, his lips don't move at all.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Moulin Ruse Affair - S1-E17

Continuity mistake: From the outside, the U.N.C.L.E. building's wall is made of red brick. But, after a large hole is knocked through it, a shot from the inside shows no red brick at all. In fact, the entire wall is now made of white cinder-block.

Jean G

The Dog-Gone Affair - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Though she and Mark have both been calling Putzi the dachshund (who is visibly female) a "she" and a "good girl" throughout the episode, April has an odd memory lapse later and refers to the dog as "he."

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Little John Doe Affair - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: When the Italian U.N.C.L.E. official parks his red sports car outside the jail and gets out, he leaves the door ajar. When he comes back with April, the door has closed itself.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Horns-of-the-Dilemma Affair - S1-E6

Revealing mistake: Due to the rather obvious insertion of car-crash stock footage, April's white 1964 Ford Falcon turns into a gray 1950s sedan as it goes over the cliff.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Atlantis Affair - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: Mark, April and the professor leap from a boat seconds before a bomb goes off aboard. But in the shot of the boat exploding right after they jump, there's no one in the perfectly calm water, and the empty rubber raft is still alongside the burning boat. Somehow, though, the escapees are rowing to safety in that same raft a few shots later.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Mother Muffin Affair - S1-E3

Revealing mistake: The climactic chase occurs in an amusement park, supposedly in Brighton, England. But several things give away the real filming location, among them an ad for 15c (not 15p) snow cones, two very American-style phone booths, and best of all, a pole proudly sporting both a U.S. flag and a California state flag, visible in the background behind the phone booths.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Jewels of Topango Affair - S1-E14

Factual error: Mark plays his electric guitar for the tribal chief, and the amplifier works just fine, despite the fact that it isn't plugged into any power source.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Dog-Gone Affair - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: Mark's stunt man is a little too obvious in the final fight scene. Mark suddenly gains 20 pounds and a whole new set of muscles that he didn't have before.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Lethal Eagle Affair - S1-E11

Continuity mistake: April is undercover in Madame Gita's mansion, and has been speaking with her normal (American) inflection throughout most of the episode. Midway through, however, she suddenly acquires a German accent for no apparent reason.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Atlantis Affair - S1-E9

Plot hole: After stressing (as Waverly did earlier) that only a laser beam can activate the explosive crystals, LeGallows demonstrates the destructive power of one - using only sunlight.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Mata Hari Affair - S1-E4

Revealing mistake: The motorcycle chase is supposed to take place late at night. But in several shots, a cloud-strewn blue daytime sky can be seen, and long shadows on the streets indicate that the scene was actually shot either in the early morning or the late afternoon.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Montori Device Affair - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: The bad-guy bellman knocks Mark out, then zips him face down into a garment bag. He then places the bag, without turning it, onto his luggage cart, and the outline of the body inside (a dummy, judging by how effortlessly he lifts it), is now facing up.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Garden of Evil Affair - S1-E8

Visible crew/equipment: In the teaser, the departing Thrush limo provides the viewer with a reflection of both the camera and the lined-up film crew.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Lethal Eagle Affair - S1-E11

Revealing mistake: Mark hides inside the grand piano - improbable (there's not enough room) unless the piano is a mock-up without any real harp or strings. And in fact, when he jumps out, you can see that there's nothing inside. Somehow, though, the piano still makes sounds when Dieter touches the keys.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The High and the Deadly Affair - S1-E28

Continuity mistake: Merek's bird is sitting on his shoulder facing backward. In the very next shot, as he stands, the bird is suddenly facing forward. When he starts to sit down, the bird is still forward, but in the next shot, a close-up of him sitting, birdie is facing to the rear again.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The High and the Deadly Affair - S1-E28

Continuity mistake: The chocolate eclair is cut open to reveal the mini-bomb planted inside. But when April picks the eclair up, it's completely intact again.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Double-O-Nothing Affair - S1-E26

Continuity mistake: Mark injects April with plain water, telling her to play dead. She shouldn't have to play. Water in the blood stream can create oxygen bubbles, which can be lethal in a matter of minutes. He should have used saline or glucose instead. Those solutions have been de-oxygenated and purified to prevent giving patients the potentially lethal "bends."

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Carpathian Caper Affair - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: Mark appropriates Rock's gun and is holding it directly under the man's nose. Then the shot reverses angles, and Mark is instantly several feet away, holding the gun at waist level.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Furnace Flats Affair - S1-E22

Factual error: April finds that the sign pointing to Furnace Flats has fallen off the signpost. But the board she picks up is perfectly smooth, with no nails or nail holes in it anywhere. It's never been attached to anything.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Drublegratz Affair - S1-E19

Continuity mistake: In the lab/control center, Rapunzel's elaborate blue necklace is suddenly missing half its baubles - but they reappear a few shots later.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Drublegratz Affair - S1-E19

Continuity mistake: The shape of Dr. Gork's chalkboard diagram changes completely from one shot to the next.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Moulin Ruse Affair - S1-E17

Revealing mistake: Waverly opens a file full of papers with a small photo of April's contact clipped inside. When we see a close-up of the photo, we can also see that the page under it is part of a script treatment. Odd thing for a spy agency to keep on file.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Jewels of Topango Affair - S1-E14

Factual error: Hiking through the African jungle, the safari party is stalked by a tiger. Wild tigers aren't found on the African continent. They're native to Asia.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Lethal Eagle Affair - S1-E11

Revealing mistake: While Madame Gita is testing the death ray device, she orders Franz to go check the power. He trots off to obey, and in the process crosses, miraculously unscathed, directly in front of the "deadly" light beam.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Little John Doe Affair - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: Highly-trained secret agents are supposed to know their own IDs. When April reports to HQ over her communicator, she identifies herself as "April Dancer, Section One." She works, as do all the U.N.C.L.E. field agents, for Section Two.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Atlantis Affair - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: The candles LeGallows slices up with his fencing foil disappear from the floor a few shots later.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Garden of Evil Affair - S1-E8

Deliberate mistake: The bad guys chase Mark through a movie studio backlot past a London bus with a large red "Out of Service" sign on its side. During the ensuing shoot-out scene, the film is reversed for some reason, and the sign on the bus is suddenly backwards.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Paradise Lost Affair - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: Mark's blue shirt, soiled in the shipwreck and again in the fight with Henry, launders itself nicely a few shots later, becoming completely dry and spotless once again.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Phi Beta Killer Affair - S1-E25

Revealing mistake: Mark's stunt double during the fight on the mansion's porch is a very close match for him - except for the fact that he's about 6 inches taller. This causes "Mark's" height in relation to the man he's fighting to fluctuate noticeably (taller than, shorter than, taller than again) between shots.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Jewels of Topango Affair - S1-E14

Continuity mistake: In the air, the small plane Mark flies is all white. Once on the ground, it mysteriously turns blue.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Furnace Flats Affair - S1-E22

Revealing mistake: Stock footage spliced in at different points during the desert chase scene increases the size of the posse threefold, and changes the terrain completely from one shot to the next.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Petit Prix Affair - S1-E24

Visible crew/equipment: Desiree closes the window after looking out at the car race, and the boom shadow is bobbing up and down on the wall just over her head.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Low Blue C Affair - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: When Soyill and his henchman start walking toward April, who's standing at the pool table, they're standing right next to each other. When the shot cuts to a wider angle, they're suddenly several feet apart.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Low Blue C Affair - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: Mark's dark clothes get powdered white with snow during the rooftop fight. The moment he runs through the doorway, however, his suit is instantly clean and dry once again.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Furnace Flats Affair - S1-E22

Continuity mistake: The smudges on April's face as she treks through the desert keep changing shape and position between takes.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Furnace Flats Affair - S1-E22

Continuity mistake: From the inside, the swinging saloon doors are completely intact. From the outside, they're missing several slats. Later, the same doors have breaks that change positions constantly between shots.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Moulin Ruse Affair - S1-E17

Revealing mistake: When April peeks over the rooftop, it's completely dark outside. Every time we see the inserted stock footage of the traffic down below, however, it's a filtered daytime shot. Not one of the cars has its headlights on.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The Catacomb and Dogma Affair - S1-E18

Continuity mistake: The rear view mirror on Adriana's red sports car vanishes between shots after Mark commandeers her car.

xx:xx:xx

Jean G

The U.F.O. Affair - S1-E16

Visible crew/equipment: What's that strange object following over Mark and April's heads as they leave the airport? Looks suspiciously like a boom microphone.
