NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service

Reveille - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: At the end, Gibbs opens the body bag and the woman's eyes move ever so slightly as if trying to focus under the contact lenses used to give the clouded appearance. This does not happen in real corpses. (00:39:25)

A Weak Link - S1-E22

Revealing mistake: When Gibbs and Todd are walking into the church, the camera shadow can be seen going over the seats on the left hand side. There is no-one other than Gibbs and Todd moving and the shadows are not possible from them. (00:25:00)

Seadog - S1-E3

Revealing mistake: When agent Todd is seen on the bench doing a sketch, watch closely and you will see she is just going over lines already drawn and not leaving any new pen marks despite the sound of the pen scratching on the paper. (00:25:25)

Murder 2.0 - S6-E6

Revealing mistake: When the NCIS team were directed to the first video, McGee states that they were the first to view the video, however, the view counter on the video said 531,817 views. (00:06:40 - 00:07:15)

Season 4 generally

Revealing mistake: During season 4 the same television clip of President Bush and VP Cheney disembarking Air Force One is used on the background television in the squad room. In some cases the clip is running and not in unison, on three of the televisions in the same scene from shot to shot.

Spiritfire

Family - S5-E2

Revealing mistake: Part 1 - As Tony eats his donut, and spills the jelly on his shirt, it's clear that (the actor) is moving his body to make that 'accident' happen as scripted. As the jelly begins to leak out, he doesn't move; because it doesn't fall as expected, he jerks suddenly, to make the jelly fall on his shirt. He stops moving, 'shocked' at this, holding the donut with both hands. Part 2 - The camera angle changes to 'behind' him, and he is only holding the donut with one hand. Part 3 - He then grabs at a napkin (just out of frame) to clean it off; the camera cuts to Ziva briefly, then back to Tony, who does not have any napkin. (00:24:55)

Once a Hero - S4-E8

Revealing mistake: When Ducky and Gibbs are in the morgue examining the body of the girl found in the hotel, the camera cuts for a few seconds to the girl lying on the slab. During that shot, you can see her neck moving to her pulse (just after Ducky says, "There's some bruising on the sternum"). (00:19:10)

In the Dark - S4-E22

Revealing mistake: When Tony is telling Gibbs & Ducky that Abby got a hit on the dead sailor's fingerprints, Gibbs takes the file from Tony; the camera shows the file, which appears to be a legitimate profile sheet, but in the comments section, is the script that Tony just read aloud. (00:07:36)

Yankee White - S1-E1

Gibbs: I heard you quit, Agent Todd.
Kate Todd: Happy news travels fast. Yes, I resigned. It was the right thing to do.
Gibbs: Yep. Pull that crap at NCIS, I won't give you a chance to resign.
Kate Todd: Is that a job offer?

Agent Afloat - S6-E2

Trivia: Season 6, "Agent Afloat": Maybe real aircraft carriers posing as fictional ones shouldn't let viewers see their registration numbers. When this episode aired, producers heard from several "carrier purists" complaining that CVN74 is the U.S.S. John C. Stennis, not the (non-existent) Seahawk.

Show generally

Question: I finally saw the 2-part episode from the show JAG. Does anyone know what happened to Viv Blackadder? I don't recall hearing anyone ever mention the name on NCIS.

Answer: I hadn't seen the backdoor pilots yet but while it wasn't explicitly stated, at least onscreen, I heard somewhere Vivian got either fired from NCIS due to jeopardizing a case, got resigned from the agency, or transferred to the FBI.

Raykvega423

Answer: I dont believe it is ever mentioned, but like most pilot episodes the characters are often changed, replaced or even removed in this case.
