NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service

Other mistake: It would appear that (as late as early-Season 5), almost all screen shots of computer forensics include the same hard drive properties screen - it seems to be the same hard drive each time - 111GB, with 93GB used and a 129kb private container on it. I have not noticed whether they are all named drive G:, but several have been. The only thing that changes is the 'header' section, which is manipulated each episode to show something specific (but not real) for the TV audience to read.

Factual error: Throughout the show, skyscrapers are consistently shown. The height of buildings in Washington DC is restricted by the Height of Buildings Act of 1910, and there are no buildings taller than 13 stories.

Spiritfire

Yankee White - S1-E1

Factual error: Air Force One landed in Wichita, Kansas. The local coroner claimed Jurisdiction for Wichita County. The city of Wichita, Kansas is in Sedgwick County, in southern Kansas. Wichita County, Kansas is in western Kansas, about 250 miles from the city of Wichita. (00:05:40)

Yankee White - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Just after Gibbs lies down on the slab, we see a shot of Ducky smirking. In this shot, we see Gibbs in the background turn on to his side. Camera changes to Gibbs and he is on his back and then turns onto his side. (00:24:00)

Yankee White - S1-E1

Character mistake: The uniform/costume that Major Tim Kerry, a Marine Military Aide to the President, is wearing, includes a Service Aiguillette made of 4 loops of round gold wire and scarlet cord. This aiguillette is worn by a Marine serving as an Aide or in other positions for a 4 Star General. A military aide to the President would wear 4 loops, all gold (as seen being worn by Commander Ray Trapp). (00:29:00)

Yankee White - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Caitlin leaves the Cafe, Tim holds the car door open for her and she gets in. He then closes the door and leans on it. Camera cuts to a different angle and now he is stood up straight and slightly back from the car, with no time to do so. (00:29:05)

Yankee White - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Agent Todd is standing there coat open, hands in her pockets on Air Force One watching Gibbs walk away when the bad guy who is a reporter (Leonard) comes up to her and comments "Loosening your dress code Kate". Seconds later when she turns to indicate that he should return to the press section her coat is now buttoned up. (00:33:50)

Hung Out to Dry - S1-E2

Visible crew/equipment: While Gibbs and Caitlin are alone with Lt. Roberts trying to gain access to the Armed Forces Registry, just as Roberts acknowledges the critical 48 hours, the reflection of a crew member (presumably camera operator) is visible in the mirror, on the right side of the screen. Gibbs: I heard you quit, Agent Todd.
Kate Todd: Happy news travels fast. Yes, I resigned. It was the right thing to do.
Gibbs: Yep. Pull that crap at NCIS, I won't give you a chance to resign.
Kate Todd: Is that a job offer?

Agent Afloat - S6-E2

Trivia: Season 6, "Agent Afloat": Maybe real aircraft carriers posing as fictional ones shouldn't let viewers see their registration numbers. When this episode aired, producers heard from several "carrier purists" complaining that CVN74 is the U.S.S. John C. Stennis, not the (non-existent) Seahawk.

Show generally

Question: I finally saw the 2-part episode from the show JAG. Does anyone know what happened to Viv Blackadder? I don't recall hearing anyone ever mention the name on NCIS.

Answer: I hadn't seen the backdoor pilots yet but while it wasn't explicitly stated, at least onscreen, I heard somewhere Vivian got either fired from NCIS due to jeopardizing a case, got resigned from the agency, or transferred to the FBI.

Raykvega423

Answer: I dont believe it is ever mentioned, but like most pilot episodes the characters are often changed, replaced or even removed in this case.
