Other mistake: When The Doctor tells the Atraxi "Oh, you're not the first lot to have come here, there have been so many," one of the monsters shown from their scan of Earth are a group of Ood. Even if in one of their uprisings they attacked the Earth, it would have been in the far future. The Doctor had no encounter with them on Earth, and he knows them to be peaceful, so why would they be amongst the aliens who have threatened the planet? The only Ood who has been to Earth at this point is Ood Sigma, and he didn't come to attack.

Rose - S1-E1

Factual error: In the opening shot of this episode, we see the Earth from space. The camera then zooms into Western Europe, the UK, London, then into Rose Tyler's flat, where a jump cut to an alarm clock shows its 7:30am. But look again at the start of that sequence: it shows that it's daylight over the UK - and over the USA. This is of course impossible. When it is 7:30am in London, it is 2:30am in New York, as Eastern Time is 5 hours behind UK time. Usually, in New York, at 2:30am it is not daylight because it is the middle of the night.

Since a black hole is a type of star, this planet's orbit could be described as astrostationary, or even just stationary, but definitely not as geostationary. Army of Ghosts (1) - S2-E15

Character mistake: In an early scene with Yvonne Hartman, she says "We've just measured the ghosts' energy at 5000 gigawatts." There are at least two mistakes here: (1) watts are a unit of power, not of energy (that would be joules); (2) later on, when Hartman is showing the Magnaclamp to the Doctor, she refers to imperial tons and says "Torchwood refuses to go metric", but a gigawatt is a metric unit.

She wouldn't have imbued herself with Time Lordness, so Davros would have succeeded. Other mistake: After the Doctor tells Bill that Heather's face isn't symmetrical, when he and Bill look into the "puddle" together the Doctor explains that instead of seeing her normal backwards reflection, she's seeing her face "the right way round." The problem occurs in the next shot of the Doctor and Bill seen in the puddle, because the "WOW!" patch on Bill's jacket is properly where it should be, but note everything else is actually backwards. Things such as Bill's color-block top and her denim jacket buttons are on the opposite way. Also note the Doctor's ring has switched hands. Presumably this shot was edited, and the "WOW!" patch was blurred on the left of Bill's jacket then digitally added to the right side, to give the appearance that it's "the right way round" as the Doctor said.

However, the same hallway is used in "The Girl who Died", when the men from Ashildr's village get blasted to death, and again in several scenes in "Sleep No More" when the characters run through the hallways. Also, it seems the control room from the underwater research center, where the characters hide from the ghosts in "Under the Lake" and "Before the Flood", is reused as the white room in "Hell Bent" when the Doctor pulls Clara out of her timeline, though in "Hell Bent" the room is nearly empty and the room in "Under the Lake" and "Before the Flood" is full of equipment.

Kill the Moon - S8-E7

Factual error: In this episode, it is stated that the Moon's sudden increase in mass caused a devastating global high tide. The amount of the increase in mass is given as 1.3 billion tonnes. But the Moon has a mass of over 70,000,000,000 billion tonnes, or over 50 billion times the supposed increase. Such a negligible increase in mass, less than.000000002%, would have almost no effect on Earth's tides, let alone be devastating.

Kill the Moon - S8-E7

Factual error: Near the end of the episode, the full moon is shown in the daytime sky, well above the horizon. This is impossible, as any celestial body lit by the Sun has its full phase only when it is directly opposite the Sun; thus, a full Moon rises at sunset and sits high in the sky only during the night. For the Moon to be in the sky during the day as shown, it would have to be visibly of a phase other than full.

Factual error: Clara determines the location of the enemy's base of operations: floor 65 of The Shard. However, there are multiple issues with this conclusion. Firstly, floor 65 is a residential property, not an office location; offices in The Shard occupy floors 2 through 28. Secondly, the view of 30 St Mary Axe from Miss Kizlet's window puts the office below 180m, the height of the latter building. This would mean the office must be below floor 50. Finally, when The Doctor rides his motorcycle up the side of the building, 30 St Mary Axe is again seen, this time significantly below his location, and on the wrong side of The Shard. Doctor: So, that's the trap. Or the test or the final judgment, I don't know. But if I kill you, I kill her. Except that implies, in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils, that she's just a victim. But I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods - out of all that - out of that whole pantheon - if I believe in one thing... Just one thing... I believe in her.
