New this month Continuity mistake: When Clara asks Kate why her two assistants have entered the Black Archive, she rests her left arm on the sill of the window of the containment unit she's inside. In the next shot, when Clara slowly turns to look at "Kate", who's just revealed she's actually a Zygon imposter, her left arm is by her side.
New this month Continuity mistake: When the Doctors figure out how to disintegrate the door, when Eleven takes out his screwdriver to check the calculation and announces that it's complete, Ten's right hand, with which he's holding his screwdriver, goes from raised at roughly shoulder height to much lower between shots.
New this month Continuity mistake: When Osgood discovers Kate trussed up where the Zygons left her, when she pulls off the sheet covering her Kate's head is completely covered by a membrane-like mass. New this month Continuity mistake: In the scene at the end in the Undergallery, when Ten walks up to the Gallifrey Falls painting, wondering what its actual title is, the door of his TARDIS, visible behind him, is open. In the next shot with the TARDISes visible, the door is shut.
New this month Continuity mistake: When the Doctor begins to explain to Gregor that the TARDIS doesn't actually have a self-destruct, he places his right hand on Gregor's shoulder. In the next shot, his right arm is by his side and he isn't touching Gregor.
New this month Continuity mistake: Before they enter the damaged TARDIS, when the Doctor watches Gregor put down Bram, and then asks Tricky why he's using a blast suit and respirator despite being an android, his hands are clasped in front of his chest in close-ups, but down below his waist in wide shots.
New this month Continuity mistake: While Emma is explaining to Clara what an empathic psychic is, the Doctor grabs a bottle of milk from the table and takes a swig out of it, holding the bottle in his right hand, before jumping into the conversation to state that empaths are both extremely compassionate and extremely lonely. While he's saying this, his left hand goes from gesturing in a close-up to holding the milk bottle in a wide shot.
New this month Continuity mistake: While the Doctor and Clara are talking and realise that she now possesses extensive computing knowledge, in shots facing the Doctor he has his hands raised in various gestures or by his mouth, but his hands aren't visible in shots facing Clara.
New this month Continuity mistake: When Clara asks the "girl" coming down the stairs if she's a friend of Angie's, and the "girl" replies in a monotone, in the shot facing Clara the girl-robot is seen nearly at the bottom of the steps, but in the next shot facing the "girl", she's suddenly higher up the stairs.
New this month Continuity mistake: When Clara is asleep in bed after the Doctor prevented her from being downloaded by the people in the Shard, he sets up a vase of flowers, a glass of water and a plate of Jammie Dodgers on her bedside table. The positions of the glass, the cookies on the plate, and the torn-open package the cookies came out of is seen when the Doctor leaves a half-eaten cookie on the plate in a close-up. When Clara wakes up, however, the cookies on the plate, the packaging and the glass have all changed positions.
New this month Continuity mistake: After Prisoner Zero is taken away, when Rory asks the Doctor if everything is back to normal, the Doctor is holding Rory's phone in his right hand while dialing a number. In the shot immediately after, focusing on Rory, where the Doctor walks by him and lightly smacks him on the shoulder, the phone is suddenly in the Doctor's left hand.
New this month Continuity mistake: After the Doctor steps through the hologram of his past selves and introduces himself to the Atraxi, in a wide shot, there's a red jacket lying on the ground to the left of Rory. In a close-up of Amy and Rory immediately following, the jacket has suddenly leaped into Rory's arms, to join the other clothes he's holding. When the Atraxi flies away, the red jacket is back on the ground again.
New this month Continuity mistake: After the Doctor spits out some yogurt that Amelia gave him and wipes off his mouth, there's still some yogurt on his face and chin. Immediately afterwards, he involuntarily jerks around a bit due to regeneration sickness, and the yogurt is gone.
New this month Continuity mistake: At one point while the Doctor is explaining to Amelia what the crack is, there's a shot where he has his hands on the wall examining the crack as he leans over Amelia's desk, then the camera cuts to a shot of Amelia where the Doctor is standing upright with his hands not touching the wall at all.
New this month Continuity mistake: When Wilf takes out his revolver and offers it to the Doctor, he's holding it with the grip pointed toward the Doctor. In a wide shot shortly afterwards, Wilf's arm is moving to hold the gun out again, this time with the barrel closer to the Doctor. In the next shot, a close-up of Wilf, the gun is back to its first orientation.
New this month Continuity mistake: When Shaun and Sylvia run out of the Nobles' house to look as Gallifrey begins to phase in and out next to Earth, Shaun's right hand, which he had on Sylvia's shoulder, changes position between shots just before he runs off looking for Donna.
New this month Continuity mistake: When Donna, on the phone with Wilf, is surrounded by Master duplicates in the alley behind her house, she has her phone to her ear, but there's a shot where she looks behind her to see two Masters, one of whom is wearing a bowtie, entering the alley, her phone is missing, only to be back by her ear in the next shot.
New this month Continuity mistake: After Lucy gets the bottle from the guard, as she explains to the Master that her family had contacts to create something to counteract the "potions of life" used to resurrect him, she starts to take the cork out of the bottle with her left hand, the camera cuts away to the Master and when it cuts back to Lucy, her left hand is on the bottom of the bottle, before she starts to take the cork out again.
New this month Continuity mistake: In the restaurant basement, while the Doctor and Clara are looking around while speculating on why the clockwork droids are harvesting organs, Clara moves a chain out of her way with her left hand before releasing it, only to be holding the chain again in the next shot.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Ida descend into the core of Krop Tor, the screen charting their progress shows 39% Oxygen. After cutting away to an overhead shot of the two, the camera cuts back to the same descent display, only now the oxygen percentage (which has been descending constantly all this time) is at 42%.

Continuity mistake: Miss Kizlet wears a large silver brooch on her suit's right lapel in every shot of her, but after Clara notices the lights going out behind her house, when it cuts back to the office Kizlet's brooch switches to her left lapel just before it cuts back to the Doctor and Clara, and since the brooch has a distinctive design we can tell that it's a flipped shot.
Continuity mistake: After Strax hits Clara with a newspaper she comes downstairs and he asks her if she needs anything. She asks for water and he places the bucket of mop water on the table in front of Clara. They have a conversation about the water and at the end of the conversation Clara looks at her newspaper and the bucket has disappeared from the table in front of her. Neither of them moved it.

Continuity mistake: When the three bride Autons attack Jackie, and they open their hands one at a time, it is clear that when the second Auton opens its hand, all three are already open. After it cuts to Rose, and back to Jackie again, the third one opens (even though we just saw it already open).
Continuity mistake: When Mickey enters one of the school's computer rooms, dozens of pupils are busy typing, and every one of them is also wearing headphones. However, once Mickey unplugs the main connection for the computers, and shouts for the students to leave, when the students begin to get up, their headphones have instantly removed themselves from their heads and been placed neatly on the desks next to the computer keyboards.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, Donna piles suitcases in the Doctor's arms in preparation to leave with him in the TARDIS, and places a striped hat box on top. The bags stay that way for a while as the camera cuts back and forth between them, and you can see the stack of luggage as the camera films the Doctor from behind. Then, as soon as the camera cuts back to the Doctor's face when Donna leaves to give her mother the car keys, suddenly he has one bag under his arm and another in his hand, and the rest of the bags are on the ground with the hat box stacked neatly on top. In addition, when the scene cuts from Donna closing the hatch of her car to her and the Doctor standing by the TARDIS, a large floral-patterned suitcase has appeared, which she was not shown removing from the vehicle.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Clara are on the rooftop terrace, there's a distinctive design on the Doctor's bow tie, but when he's in the coffee shop the bow tie's design differs, and when he runs outside to ask if Clara's okay it changes back, then it changes again when he's in back the shop. Additionally, when the walking base station Doctor uploads Clara it's wearing a bow tie, and its design also changes on the motorbike and in Kizlet's office.

Continuity mistake: While Clara shouts, "I don't know where I am," over and over, the Doctor sonics his way into the house. When he kneels beside Clara, then notices the 'girl' on the stairs and stands up, in the shots facing him we can see that the young actress stands on the step facing the stairway (note her legs), with her hand at her side, but in the shots facing the girl she stands facing the door with her hand on the banister.
Continuity mistake: After the Doctor yells at Handles for putting him on the Dalek ship, the Doctor grabs him and carries the head with his right arm, then switches the head to his left arm. However, in the close-up as the Doctor asks, "What does this question mean?" we see Handles is back on the Doctor's right arm, but next shot as the phone rings, Handles is carried on the Doctor's left arm again.
Add timeSuper Grover
Continuity mistake: When Clara and the Doctor watch the lights going out, they first stand in front of the chair, but when the Doctor notes that some planes have WiFi, they stand behind the chair. That chair switches from in front of them to behind them another couple of times.
Continuity mistake: When Lawrence is watching the Weeping Angel, just after seeing the Doctor's film/Easter egg, he turns away for a split second. By the time he turns back, you see the Weeping Angel's face only inches from Lawrence's face. But you then cut to a wide shot where you see the Angel's arms outstretched, so its face is about half a metre away from Lawrence's face.
Continuity mistake: When the two Cybermen meet the Dalek for the first time, they are exterminated. They fall directly in front of the Dalek, but when the camera angle changes to show the second Cyberman hitting the floor side on, you can see the Dalek in the background. The Cybermen both fell straight forward, so it shouldn't have been possible to see the Dalek when seeing the Cyberman side on in the next shot, as the Dalek is facing them both directly.
Continuity mistake: After Miss Evangelista is killed, we see her communicator as her "ghost" slowly fades. In one shot we see from a slight distance the lights left lit tick down to 3, then a short while passes, we cut back and the lights are back to 4. They then tick down to 3 again.

Continuity mistake: When they are back in the cemetery at the end, the Angel shows up right behind Rory. In the first shot facing Rory, as the camera zooms in on a close-up of the Angel, the Angel's right arm/hand is pointing straight out, and its left open hand is up in a grabbing position. After River asks where the hell it came from, in the Angel's next close-up and all subsequent close-ups, its arm/hand positions are reversed - left hand is pointing straight out and its right hand is up. Yet in every shot of the Doctor, River and Amy together, in the foreground we see the Angel's left hand is up in the grabbing position.
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Donna asks the woman if she could borrow £10 because it's Christmas, you can see that Donna is wearing sports shoes instead of her usual white wedding shoes.
Continuity mistake: When the Master stands up on the Valiant to announce that he is the Toclafane's "Master", President Winters is visible in the background, only the Toclafane aren't there. In the next shot, they return, buzzing around Winters' head.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the episode, the Doctor and Jack destroy a Dalek who is inside the TARDIS. It is seen again later when the Doctor, Rose and Jack come back into the TARDIS after talking with the Dalek Emperor. Yet later when the Doctor is sending Rose home, there is no destroyed Dalek.
Continuity mistake: When Rose is sitting on a bench and she gets a news report on her phone, look at the top of the phone screen - it says the time is 11:35. However, several minutes later, when the Doctor and Mickey find Rose, the clock says it's only 11:36.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of "Silence in the Libary," a sweeping shot shows that they're standing between two freestanding bookshelves. But at the beginning of this one, when they're supposed to be in the same place, they're able to break through a wall into a separate room.
Continuity mistake: When Yvonne Hartman is showing the Doctor through Torchwood after leaving the TARDIS, she goes to push a door open into the main building with one hand, but when the camera cuts to them entering the building she pushes them open with two hands.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, the police are chasing the bus and they give the numberplate as "Whiskey nine four seven Golf Hotel Mike." That is W947 GHM, but later on when the flying bus comes through the rift in time/space, the numberplate is completely different. This is because whilst filming in Dubai, the original bus broke down and had to be replaced.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor is shot and killed while trying to regenerate on the beach, he falls with both legs extended. When River, Amy and Rory run up to him his left leg is bent. The camera cuts away again, and when it cuts back to show the Doctor's body one more time both legs are straight again. In addition, his left arm changes position between shots, between stretched out pointing away from his body on close-ups to bent with his hand resting on his thigh in wider shots.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor gets the rocket to work by tinkering with the boost reversal circuit, he picks it up with his left hand, sonics it, and then transfers it to his right hand, all in a shot where he has his back to the camera. In the next shot, facing him, he's holding it in his left hand as he pulls something off the device. The shot after that, facing Professor Yana again, the circuit is back in his right hand.
Continuity mistake: While the Doctor, et al. are in the pyramid with the Monks, when the Monk tells the Secretary General that if his consent isn't pure it will kill him Xiaolian is standing right behind him, which can be seen in shots facing the Secretary General and shots facing the Monk, but in the one shot of the Secretary General as he's being vaporized Xiaolian has vanished yet Xiaolian is still standing in the same spot in the shot facing the Monk.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, Missy is using a knife to sharpen a stick to a point. Later in the scene, when she says to Clara that if they go rescue the Doctor, everything the Daleks can throw at them is between them and him, she lists only the stick among their assets. The knife is never seen or mentioned again after Missy was done with it.
Continuity mistake: After the Doctor is knocked unconscious, Clara uses the psychic circuitry to pilot the TARDIS to what turns out to be a moment in the Doctor's past, in the barn first seen in "The Day of the Doctor." The loft in the barn where the young First Doctor is sleeping in bed, however, was not present in the previous episode.
Continuity mistake: After the Master changes all humans into copies of himself and Wilf says, "What have you done, you monster!?", it goes to all the different Masters in the room saying, "Are you talking to me?" The Abigail Naismith-Master is shorter than the Joshua Naismith-Master. In another shot they are the same height. The Abigail Naismith-Master is wearing very high heels and should be taller than the other Masters.
00:56:00 - 00:56:50
Continuity mistake: When Yvonne is taking the Doctor and Jackie to the Sphere Room, there is a sign opposite the door that has the words "Torchwood Institute". In the next shot where you can see the corridor from inside the Sphere Chamber, the sign has disappeared. It reappears again when Rose is going into the Sphere Chamber, but this time it has directions to the Reception, Canteen and Lever Room as well as "Torchwood Institute". It also disappears again when you see the corridor from inside the Chamber.
00:23:30 - 00:31:45
Continuity mistake: In the scene toward the end where the Doctor is shot by the Dalek, when the camera is shooting from Rose's point of view, the Doctor is gasping and struggling for breath. However when the camera shows the Doctor from behind, he's lying completely still in Rose's arms. The camera cuts back to Rose's POV and he's struggling again, with no time in between for the change in his movements.
Continuity mistake: When Ursula is filming Elton outside his old house, the digital camera produces a distorted picture and has four white lines in the corners. But, after Elton's flashback, Ursula is still filming but the picture is straight and the lines are gone.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, when the Doctor takes Amy to planet One, he holds out his hand for Amy to take hold of when they're about to leave the TARDIS. When you see her from the back, Amy lifts her hand wearing her red fingerless gloves. But when it switches shot and faces Amy from the front, she takes the Doctor's hand wearing no gloves. When she steps out of the TARDIS, her gloves are on again.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor stands between Restac and his fleeing companions, using his sonic screwdriver to disable the Silurians' weapons, as the camera angle changes, the Doctor's grip on the screwdriver switches back and forth between pointing it at the lizards and holding it straight up and down, á la the Neuralizer from Men in Black.
Continuity mistake: As Lucy goes down the hall, she opens door 214, then 215. As she comes to the next door on the right, she opens 214 again, rather than it being 216. This is particularly noticeable because the third room she enters is "her" room, containing her greatest fear - and the first room she went into numbered 214 had a completely different fear.

Continuity mistake: When River shows Amy and the Doctor the video of the Angel, next to the Doctor on the ceiling is a bar with two cloth handles, one on each end. The Doctor accidentally rips off the handle closest to him and the viewscreen. A minute later when Amy is alone and we are looking at the Angel video, this handle is back up. It's gone again in subsequent shots.
Continuity mistake: When Martha is searching for how the Daleks changed the design of the Empire State Building, she is examining the plans for the top of the tower. In the first shot where the new plans are visible, the upper right shows a more detailed picture of a plate of Dalekanium. Seconds later, when we can see the new plans again, it's the same side view but the enlarged picture of the plate with the Dalek bumps is gone. These are still the same new plans (the old plans are on her right) and there was no time or reason for Martha to take another page.
Continuity mistake: When the Captain's arrival at the South Pole is first shown, walking up while Twelve is explaining to One that the frozen snow means something is very wrong with time and asking if either of them is a doctor, to which Twelve responds, "You trying to be funny?", the two Doctors are standing right next to each other. When the Captain's arrival is shown from his perspective, however, the Doctors are standing much further apart when Twelve says the line.

When Other Dave speaks, and the Doctor turns to him and discovers he's been eaten, he takes his left hand from the back of his head, with his right hand in his pocket. Continuity mistake: When Robina Redmond is announced, and Lady Eddison says, "She's the absolute hit of the social scene - a must," in the first shot, Lady Eddison is standing close enough to her wheelchair-bound husband to cast a shadow on him. In the second shot, the distance between them has suddenly increased.
Continuity mistake: After questioning the houseguests, the Doctor and Agatha are talking. She uses the phrase "little grey cells", and the Doctor responds, "Oh, yes, little grey cells. Good old Poirot." When he does this, he's holding a saucer in his left hand and rests a teacup he's holding in his right hand atop it, as he turns toward the chair that the suspects were sitting in. There are times when one of the two objects, the phone more often, is missing from her hands with no explanation.
Continuity mistake: When Private Harris orders the two hypnotized workers in the basement of the ATMOS factory to let him through the door they're guarding, he's holding a torch in his left hand, and when shown from behind has that hand down by his side. In the Sontarans' video feed, which also shows him from behind, his left hand is on his assault rifle.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor gets embarrassed as Donna lightly mocks him for not realizing that when she said she wanted to go home, she only meant for a brief visit, he rubs his chin with his left hand. When Ross Jenkins interrupts by saying, "Ready when you are, sir," the Doctor is now rubbing his chin with his right hand. In the shot after that, it's back to his left hand.

I'm sorry."

Continuity mistake: After Sally leaves the garage, Billy turns his head and sees the Weeping Angels around the TARDIS, and his facial expression changes from a smile to a confused frown. In a close-up of Billy after the shot of the Angels, his head is turning and his expression changes a second time.
Continuity mistake: When Sally pulls off the last piece of wallpaper to reveal the writing, "Love from the Doctor (1969)", in the first shot, the second "9" in the date is somewhat patchy, with the middle part of the number mostly gone due to the removal of the wallpaper. Continuity mistake: When the Doctor asks Captain McDonnell how many other crewmembers there are on board, he grabs her arms. After she tells him "three", the Doctor lets go of her as Scannell explains that the ship transports cargo across the galaxy. In the next shot, facing the Doctor, he's holding McDonnell's arms again.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor starts scanning Korwin, he's holding the sonic screwdriver with his thumb on the end without the light. When Ashton says that Korwin sabotaged the ship, the Doctor's grip on the screwdriver has changed to one without his thumb on the end. Shortly after, he has his thumb on the end again.
Continuity mistake: After McDonnell warns the crew that the possessed Korwin killed Abi, Ashton orders Erina to hurry up with the equipment she was sent to fetch, and she mutes the com before removing several pieces of equipment from a locker, holding them with her right hand and arm. When she closes the locker door, revealing Korwin, the equipment disappears.
Continuity mistake: After Lazarus switches his machine on while the Doctor and Martha are inside, when Martha asks what's happening, the Doctor, who is working on the machine, is holding several coloured wires, most prominently white and blue, in his left hand and has a white wire wrapped around his right hand. The scene cuts to Martha, and when it cuts back to the Doctor, the wire around his right hand is gone and he's only holding a white wire in his left hand.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Martha get into Lazarus' machine, it's shown to be very cramped inside - when the Doctor crouches down to access the wiring and circuitry below a floor panel, his head is right next to the skirt of Martha's dress. However, after he tells Martha what he's doing to the capsule, when he notes that the transformed Lazarus is three times the size of his human form, the Doctor is further away from Martha.
Continuity mistake: After the Doctor and Martha get out of the capsule and walk up to the human Lazarus, lying on the floor, Martha says it's kind of pitiful, turning to look at the Doctor as she does so. In the next shot, facing the Doctor, Martha's head is still turned to look at Lazarus.
Continuity mistake: After Martha hugs her mother, when Francine asks what the occasion is and Martha responds that she's just pleased to see her, in a shot facing Francine she has her right hand on the side of Martha's head. In the next shot, facing Martha, Francine is moving her hand to the position it was in the previous shot.
Continuity mistake: When Lazarus starts his speech, there is a shot of the Doctor and Martha watching. The Doctor has his arms at his sides. The scene cuts to Lazarus speaking, a shot in which the Doctor is visible from behind, unmoving. In the next shot of the Doctor, he has his arms crossed.
Continuity mistake: During the reception, the newly rejuvenated Lazarus takes a tray of hors d'oeuvres from a waiter and starts eating them while talking to Lady Thaw, just as the Doctor and Martha walk up. Later in the conversation, just as Lazarus says to the Doctor that what happened inside the capsule was exactly what was supposed to, the tray vanishes.
Continuity mistake: When Francine calls Tish over to ask her if she's seen Martha and the Doctor anywhere, Leo is taking a drink from a nearly-empty glass of champagne. When Leo is next seen on camera, as Francine asks Tish if Martha had ever mentioned the Doctor to her before, he's drinking from a much fuller glass of champagne.
Continuity mistake: Near the end, when Martha asks the Daleks what's going on and one of them explains that they are planning to evolve to live outside their shells, the Doctor changes position between shots while he's shown listening to this, standing behind Frank and Laszlo.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor, after being placed on hold while attempting to call the police, talks to Brannigan and Valerie about other people he could contact, in close-ups, Valerie has her right hand resting on the top of her seat. In a wide shot, she lowers her hand, but in the next close-up of her, it's jumped to its previous position.
Continuity mistake: When Lilith runs her hand along the side of the Doctor's head to distract him so she can get some of his hair, in the wide shots her fingers are extended past his ear. In a shot facing him, however, her fingers are curled and in front of his ear.
Continuity mistake: After Milo and Cheen abduct Martha, they put a sleep patch on her before entering their car. In the close-up where Cheen applies the patch, it's stuck on securely and neatly, with the top and bottom of the square pointing directly at Martha's head and chest respectively. In a wide shot immediately afterwards, the patch is stuck on quite loosely and has gone askew.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor puts his tie back on after returning from the morning, the collar of his shirt is noticeably askew as a result. Just moments later, when Martha enters the TARDIS for the first time, the collar is neat again, without him having done anything.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor, Martha and Shakespeare are in the Globe and they talk about the theatre's architecture, there is a wooden staircase in front of the stage, which Martha and Shakespeare use to descend from the stage when the three leave. Shortly after, at the beginning of the scene where the two actors from Shakespeare's company accidentally summon a Carrionite while practicing their lines, the staircase is gone.
Continuity mistake: When Martha is talking to the Doctor, who is posing as a patient, about her encounter with him in the street earlier, which he doesn't remember, she takes her stethoscope off her neck. The camera cuts to the Doctor, then back to her, and she's taking it off again.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor is looking out the window while asking Martha if there's a balcony on the floor of the hospital they're on, in close-ups of him only his right hand is visible, resting on the sill between two windowpanes, and his left arm is by his side. In a wide shot from outside looking in, his left arm is stretched out with his left hand gripping the divider between two windowpanes, in a spot where it should have been visible in the preceding shot.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor picks up a mug and a pencil to use as props to explain to Donna how she was pulled into the TARDIS, he is initially holding the pencil by the blunt end. The scene cuts to a shot of his face, and suddenly he's holding it by the sharpened end.
Continuity mistake: When Rose is hanging onto the lever and beginning to lose her grip, in close-ups of her face her body is facing the other wall of the room, perpendicular to the floor. In shots showing her and her hands on the lever, her body and head are facing the floor.
Continuity mistake: After Pete tells the Doctor that Mickey went ahead because he wanted to find Rose, the Doctor asks him if he knows that Rose is his daughter from a parallel universe. The problem is that in Pete's last scene in "The Age of Steel", the Doctor saw Rose call Pete "Dad", leading to Pete departing in a hurry.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor takes a swipe out of a jar of jam in Trish's kitchen and sticks his finger in his mouth, he only has his index finger in his mouth. The scene cuts to Rose giving him a "WTF" look, and when it cuts back to the Doctor he suddenly has two fingers in his mouth.
Continuity mistake: When Rose grabs the drawing of the Doctor and the TARDIS from Chloe, the upper right corner is bent over rather sharply. In the close-up of the picture as Rose tells the Doctor she'll find a way to get him out of there, the paper is now only slightly wrinkled.
Continuity mistake: When the Isolus leaves Chloe, in the shot facing Chloe where it says goodbye, Chloe's hand is raised to the wall, where the two were drawing a picture of the Earth. In the wide shot where the Isolus leaves Chloe's mouth, her arm is lowered. In the next close-up of Chloe, when she says "Mum?", her arm is raised again.
Continuity mistake: In shots of the base's Ood habitation area from above, the Ood are shown in four rows from left to right, with the Ood in the third row standing with their backs against the room's middle partition and the other rows sitting on benches. However, in a shot from inside the lower area when the Doctor and Rose first go to Ood habitation, the third row is shown sitting as well. Not until later in the episode, when Danny is ordering the Ood to remain in the room, is the third row shown standing again.
Continuity mistake: When the underground cavern is first shown, the descent pod is at the bottom of a pile of rubble up against the wall at the bottom of the drilled shaft. However, in the shot of the cavern shown when Ida says "My god, that's beautiful," the pod and pile of rubble is further away from the wall.
Continuity mistake: For most of the scene where he's probing Reinette's mind to find out what the clockwork droids want with her, placing his hands on her temples, the Doctor's left hand is positioned with two fingers on either side of her ear. When he realises that she's seeing some of his memories, his ring finger has jumped to being in front of her ear, without him taking his hands from her head.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor, Bill, Nardole, et al. first see the pyramid their long shadows are cast directly in front of them, but when the Doctor decides to "bring it" and crosses the barrier, their long shadows are cast directly to their right. Then it keeps changing in the following shots when the Doctor approaches the pyramid.
Continuity mistake: When Erica's eyeglasses get smashed, they're seen in a closeup inside her bag and the lens frame is cracked, but when she takes it out of her bag both lens frames are intact around the broken lenses. Also, when Erica takes the eyeglasses out of her bag she holds the eyeglasses' right temple in the closeup, but in the next shot it's the left temple being held up.
Continuity mistake: During the Doctor and Sarah Jane's conversation in the café, when Sarah says that she missed him and he responds that she was getting on with her life, in a shot facing Sarah, the Doctor's hands are not visible repairing K9. In the next shot, facing him, his left hand is suddenly on the robot, in a position where it should have been visible in the preceding shot.
Continuity mistake: When Mickey pulls the blanket off K9 and turns him on to ask if he has anything to get them inside the locked school, K9's right side panel is missing, exposing the wires and circuitry inside him. When he turns up in the cafeteria to help the others escape the Krillitanes, the missing panel has suddenly appeared.
Continuity mistake: When Sarah Jane breaks into the school, she has her purse with her. However, after she runs out of the hall with the headmaster's office after hearing some unsettling noises, it disappears, as she no longer has it when she finds the TARDIS hidden in a storage room off the gym.
Continuity mistake: During the Doctor and Sarah Jane's conversation in the café while he's repairing K9, when Sarah mentions the events of "The Christmas Invasion" and the Doctor confirms that he was there, the Doctor's hold on a piece of wire from K9's insides changes between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Cassandra reveals her presence to the Doctor, she starts off by turning him to face her, then pulling his tie out of his jacket with her right hand and tightening the knot with her left hand, in a shot facing him. In the next shot, facing her, she has her right hand holding the knot of the tie. Finally, just before Cassandra reveals her identity to the Doctor, shortly later, which hand is holding the tie changes again.
Continuity mistake: When Cassandra, possessing Rose, confronts the Doctor after he wakes up in one of the clone pods and tells him how she intends to kill him, her hand changes position between the shot from inside the pod, when she rests her hand on the front, and the next shot from outside the pod.
Continuity mistake: When the TARDIS crash-lands at the beginning, it comes to a halt in a corner of the Powell Estate's courtyard, by the garbage containers. Later, when Rose is watching through the window as blood-controlled people walk through the courtyard, the TARDIS has moved further out into the plaza.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of Rose and Jackie's conversation in the kitchen about the Doctor, Rose takes a piece of food out of the fridge. Moments later, when she rests her hand on the light switch by the door, it has vanished. At no point in the intervening time did she come anywhere near a spot where she could have put it down, and she didn't eat it either.
Continuity mistake: When Daniel Llewellyn meets Harriet Jones, she pulls out her ID card when she introduces herself. The scene cuts to a shot of Llewellyn saying that he knows who she is, and when it cuts back to Harriet, the ID card has vanished without her making any movement to put it away.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene where Rose, Jackie and Mickey are in the restaurant, in the wide shot, Rose moves her left hand to the side of her head, while looking down with her head facing towards the other side of the table, which her elbow is resting on. In a close-up immediately afterwards, she's looking out the window with her hand to her face and her elbow resting on the windowsill.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor is looking at Rose's hands, turning them over repeatedly, while she's describing how she was hanging from a barrage balloon, there's one moment where her hands are turned palm-up in a shot facing her, but back-up in a shot facing him.
Continuity mistake: During the Doctor and Nancy's conversation at her hideout, in shots facing her there is a bright circle of light cast on the wall to her left, which her shadow partially overlaps. In shots facing the Doctor where both him and Nancy are visible, the circle is gone, and Nancy's hideout is noticeably more dimly lit.
Continuity mistake: When Rose and Adam are in his workshop talking about aliens, during the exchange where she asks him about people who claim they've been in spaceships and he responds that he thinks they're nutters, Rose is poking around with her right hand at a storage shelf on the wall before moving her hand to a pile of boxes stacked on a table. When the scene cuts to a close-up of her, her hand has jumped back to the shelf.
Continuity mistake: After the Doctor freezes the Auton arm, its index and middle fingers are curled, while its ring and pinky fingers are straightened. When the Doctor and Rose are in the stairwell, most noticeable when they emerge at the bottom, the fingers of the arm are now all slightly curled.
Continuity mistake: When Clara takes Rigsy's chronolock, in the closeup of the tattoo Clara's lifting her hair with her right hand and showing the tattoo with her left hand, but in the next front-facing shot her hands have switched, she's holding up her hair with her left hand and showing the tattoo with her right hand.
Continuity mistake: When Bonnie throws the laptop with the Osgoods' message to the floor and stomps on it, the computer's position changes between shots - take note of the tape markings on the floor. In addition, the position of the plastic frame of the laptop's screen changes: in the first shot, it's mostly popped out, but in the second shot, it's mostly attached.
Continuity mistake: For most of the robbery sequence at the beginning, the Nightmare (a disguised Ashildr) is holding her pistol in her right hand. When she's yelling at the Doctor for interfering with her robbery while he's looking at the chest strapped to the back of the carriage, however, she's holding it in her left hand. It switches back to her right after the carriage escapes.
Continuity mistake: During the early scene with the Cybermen outside St Paul's, when Missy pulls out her phone/disintegrator weapon and shows the Doctor pictures of the Cybermen going viral all over the planet, and when she prepares to take a picture of the two of them, her grip on the device, as well as which hand she's holding it in, keeps changing between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Courtney comes into the caretaker's room in search of paper towels, there is a "keep out" sign (reading "Go Away Humans") hanging in the window of the inner door. When the Doctor is talking to her just before she leaves, the sign is missing. Over the course of the rest of the episode, the sign proceeds to appear and disappear a few more times.
Continuity mistake: Near the end, when the Doctor and Clara are standing by the TARDIS on the planet they took the Teller and its mate to, Clara's hands go from touching the buttons on her jacket to loosely clasped lower down. In the third shot of her, they return to the first position.
Continuity mistake: During the scene in the barn where the three Doctors have their hands on the button, when Eleven notices Clara crying and asks her what's wrong, the Doctors' hands go from stacked on top of each other on the button to only touching it with their fingers.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor is talking to River just before entering his own timeline to rescue Clara, in the shots facing him, the glowing column representing his timeline is not visible, despite the fact that a wide shot reveals he's standing right in front of it.
Continuity mistake: When Clara draws the Doctor's attention to the vision of a forest appearing in the archway, the candelabra she is holding has two candles in it, with the third hole empty. Moments later, after the apparition has disappeared, there are now three candles in it.
Continuity mistake: For most of the episode, there is a thunderstorm going on at Caliburn House. However, when the TARDIS is seen dematerializing and rematerializing when the Doctor and Clara go to take pictures of the ghost throughout time, it's dry in the grove where it was parked. The first time is especially noticeable, as moments later we are shown Professor Palmer and Emma looking through a rain-spattered window, commenting on the noise of the TARDIS' engines.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Clara are sitting at their table on the balcony, talking, the level of Clara's mostly-finished milkshake changes several times, most noticeably when she and the Doctor are arguing over who is going to use her computer to hack the bad guys' systems.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Clara, while seated at their table on the balcony, are arguing over who has the better hacking skills while pulling her computer back and forth, in overhead shots their table is somewhere in the middle of the balcony. This contrasts with all other shots, which show their table right next to the railing.
Continuity mistake: During the sequence involving Rory and Isaac leaving town with the latter disguised as Kahler-Jex in order to distract the Gunslinger so the Doctor can get back to the TARDIS, parked somewhere outside of Mercy, only to find Jex's ship instead, while Amy and Jex wait back at the sheriff's office, the Sun changes position several times, as do the shadows cast as a result. Most noticeably, when the Doctor finds the cable running from Jex's ship to town, the Sun is quite low, as if close to sunset - while appearing high, as if closer to midday, in the scenes of Rory and Isaac distracting the Gunslinger taking place at the same time. During the scenes of the Doctor finding Jex's ship and Amy and Jex in town, it is also earlier in the day.
Continuity mistake: When Vastra and Jenny confront Dr. Simeon in an alleyway, when Vastra picks up some snow and remarks about how interesting it is, the fingers of the hand she's holding the snow with change from being extended to curled up and back again between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Rory finds his dad on the spaceship, Brian is lying on a gurney next to the two farthest slabs, which are empty. When Amy and the Doctor come through the portal to the spaceship, Brian's gurney is between the two closest slabs, with Rory lying on the closest one, which previously had a completely different person lying on it.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor compares Amy's inaccurate drawing of Rory to the real deal and laughs, in a shot facing Rory the Doctor is shown lowering the picture, than in the next shot facing the Doctor he still has the picture raised. In addition, his grip on the paper changes from holding the bottom of the page to the side.
Continuity mistake: When the TARDIS crashes through the ceiling and lands in the tunnel, the side visible to the camera is not the one with the door. The camera cuts away, and when it returns to the TARDIS, on the same angle as before, the door is now facing the camera, as revealed by the sign and St. John's Ambulance medallion.
Continuity mistake: In the penultimate scene, just before the Doctor melts Amy's Flesh avatar, he points his sonic screwdriver, snapping it to its full length and opening up the four metal bits around the light at the tip. In the next shot, the screwdriver is "closed", but in the shot after that it's "open" again.
Continuity mistake: The Flesh, the substance that the gangers are made of, is capable of replicating people and their clothing. However, devices such as the sonic screwdriver are off-limits, which is why there is only one even after the Doctor's ganger is created. This is made clear when the Doctor tosses the screwdriver to his ganger before the ganger Doctor sets off to look for Rory. However, when the Doctor, Amy and the three human factory workers are trapped in the crypt with the overheating acid pool, the Doctor is seen using the screwdriver to scan the acid, even though the device should still be in the possession of the other Doctor.
Continuity mistake: When Idris/the TARDIS stumbles in the junkyard and the Doctor catches her, just before she tells him that one of her kidneys has failed, her right hand, holding a piece of circuitry, moves between in front of his chest in shots facing him and resting on his shoulder in shots facing her.
Continuity mistake: After the Sycorax ship has arrived above London, when Rose has decided that they need to shelter in the TARDIS and is explaining this while preparing to put a housecoat/dressing gown/bathrobe on the unconscious Doctor, the garment jumps between the bed and her hands in a few shots.
Continuity mistake: The house that Donna and her family are shown living in in Series 4 is different from the house the Doctor dropped her off at at the end of her first appearance, "The Runaway Bride." You would assume they'd merely moved - except that in this episode, Donna and her family are shown living in their Series 4 house before the events of "The Runaway Bride", on the day Donna gets the job that leads to her meeting the Doctor in the first place.
Continuity mistake: In the episode "New Earth", the Doctor said that the titular planet is in the galaxy M87. Upon returning to New Earth in this episode, he says that the planet is 50,000 light-years from where the original Earth used to be. That's a difference of over 50 million light-years, since M87 is a very real galaxy in the centre of the Virgo Cluster, that far away from the Milky Way.
Continuity mistake: When the school bus pulls up to drop Amy and Rory off in Monument Valley, there are no other vehicles in the area. When the bus pulls away, the Doctor has suddenly appeared with a vintage station wagon, parked by the side of the road where it should have been perfectly visible. And he was sitting on the hood, implying he'd been waiting there for a bit.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor starts walking over to the lakeshore after the astronaut appears, he's still holding the wine bottle in his right hand. In the next shot where we can see his hand, the bottle is gone, without him having stopped to put it down.
Continuity mistake: When River is talking to the Roman commander after disintegrating a piece of furniture with her pistol, she is shown raising her fingers from the pistol's grip in a shot facing the commander. However, in all following shots facing her, her fingers are still lowered.
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor pulls the arm off the Auton and tosses it to Rose, the arm is bent at the elbow and solid plastic, with a smooth, clean break. Later, particularly noticeable when Rose has left the department store, the arm is hollow, with an unbent elbow and a jagged break. The arm continues to change between the two appearances for the rest of its screentime.
Continuity mistake: Near the end, when the Doctor is explaining to Amy that she will forget Rory when the crack in time is finished eating him because he's part of her personal timeline, and he has his hands on her temples, Amy's hair is covering her ears in some shots, but not others.
Continuity mistake: When Rose gets into one of the hospital's elevators early in the episode, stock footage of an elevator descending is shown. When the Doctor, Rose and Cassandra (possessing her) go into an elevator shaft later on, it looks and is shaped completely differently.
Continuity mistake: The episode repeats the closing scene of "Doomsday", when Donna unexpectedly appears in the TARDIS. However, several details are different. One, the console room is more brightly lit than in the previous episode. Two, the shirt belonging to Rose that Donna finds draped over a railing was not present. Three, the Doctor's coat (draped over a ceiling support) has shifted in place, despite not being touched.
Continuity mistake: On the Valiant's bridge, when the Doctor is telling Martha and Jack about his plan to slip one of the perception filter keys around the Master's neck while holding his key, the position of the key changes in his hand, from being held by the wide end to being held by the narrow end.
Continuity mistake: Among the various contents of the Black Archive are visible several objects that shouldn't be there, because it is impossible for U.N.I.T. to have acquired them. In particular: A detonation pack from "Planet of the Ood", set in the 42nd century, a few thousand years in the future. The Supreme Dalek's shell from "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" - it was shot and killed by Jack Harkness, destroying the shell. The restraint chair from "The End of Time", last seen on the Vinvocci's ship. The makeshift sonic screwdriver built by the alternate Amy from "The Girl Who Waited", since that version of Amy was wiped from existence. A different explosive carried by Gregor Van Baalen in "Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS", which is both set in the future and involves a complicated situation in which the events ended up technically not happening.
Continuity mistake: The registration of Milo and Cheen's car is shown on the computer screen and stated aloud as "4-6-5-◊-6." However, there is a shot of Martha and Cheen looking out the window where the car's registration sticker is visible, showing a different registration: "9-9-6-γ-1."
Continuity mistake: When the Sphere Chamber is first shown, there is a rolling staircase set up just below the Sphere. Rajesh Singh is shown climbing the staircase and nearly touching the Sphere. However, when the room is next seen, when Raj hears that the Doctor is coming and walks up to look at the Sphere again, the staircase has vanished. Later, when the Doctor and Jackie are shown into the room while Yvonne gives them the Torchwood tour, the staircase is still missing, and it's more obvious that it is no longer in the room. It does not reappear for the remainder of the two-parter.
Continuity mistake: During the scene on the hospital roof, when the Doctor is telling off the Atraxi while simultaneously choosing a tie out of several he stole from the locker room, the number of ties draped around his shoulders and the position of his hands changes between shots.
Continuity mistake: In this episode's TARDIS scenes, the yellow padded seat is positioned so that it's on the side of the console closer to the door, so people sitting on it are facing away from the door. In all other episodes featuring this version of the console room, the seat is positioned on the side of the console opposite the door.
Continuity mistake: When the robotic Christmas tree attacks Rose, Jackie and Mickey in the Tylers' flat, it barrels through the internal window and destroys a supporting pillar separating the living room from the main hallway. Later in the episode, the pillar is seen intact.
Continuity mistake: When the Shade leaves Clara and she falls, her body is twisted because of the way her legs are bent with one on top of the other and her arms are out to the side. In the overhead shot of her, her positioning has changed, her body isn't twisted and her arms are more straight down her side.
