Continuity mistake: When Lindsay has just returned home and is placing the flowers she has bought into a vase, we see her remove the flowers from the shopping bag and place them on the kitchen worktop. A few shots later, the flowers have moved back into the bag and we see Lindsay remove them again.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Michael has just taken Lucille number two to Tobias' new club, the shots are obviously taken on different occasions. The collar of his jacket goes from misaligned to correct, his hair goes from ruffed to "done" and the lighting goes from hard and sharp to soft.
Revealing mistake: When Michael is talking to George Michael, Oscar, Buster, and Tom Jane about the house they are about to build (and what they all want out of it), it is clear in the wide shots showing all five that Tom Jane is not present; the person standing in for him has a completely different haircut and wears glasses. They try to hide it but it is obvious at several points.
Continuity mistake: When Lindsay and Michael are talking about Maebe's grades, the test paper that Lindsay just put on the fridge door sits near a note about running out of milk. In the next shot, the items have moved and the test paper is now mostly covering the note.
Continuity mistake: When Michael, Gob and Lindsay are in the kitchen talking about throwing a surprise party for their mother, Michael puts down a can of Sprite on the counter in front of his bag. In the next shot, the can is next to the bag and the coat that was over the bag has also moved, without there being time for anyone to move these items.
Visible crew/equipment: After Tobias burns his hand in the kitchen on the Cornballer, he asks Maeby where she is "off to this glorious afternoon?". She responds, "I'm going to audition for a play." In the first few frames of this response, you can see the shotgun mic at the top of the frame.
Continuity mistake: Several episodes in season 4 have scenes that take place immediately after the events of the final episode of season 3. However, the 7 years that passed in real life between seasons 3 and 4 are made apparent by the appearance of some characters. Notably Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat who had visibly matured out of their teenage years, and Portia de Rossi, who had plastic surgery on her face.
