Continuity mistake: When Arthur is telling Carrie he has got a job, Carrie is putting out paper plates. She puts all three out and then the camera changes angle. When it does, one of the plates has moved across the table and Carrie is seen placing it in position again.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Arthur is on the phone with PBS to complain about getting a "Civil War Series" box set, the actual set of tapes changes drastically. When it's on the table and when Carrie brings it over to the counter its a pretty large, has an American flag motif, and says "Civil War" across the top. When it cuts back to it sitting on the counter its a much smaller box with a plain design and says "The Great War" along the bottom. It's obviously a different set, not just the camera angle.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie confronts Arthur about looking in her bag, her bra strap is slightly hidden by her top. Camera cuts to a front view of Carrie then back to behind her. Now her bra strap has moved and is totally visible. Carrie never touched it during this time as we see her hands.
Other mistake: When Doug is drawing a picture to explain to the nurse why he is there, a man purchases a beverage from the "Hot Drinks" machine behind Doug. The drink is ready unrealistically fast and the man immediately takes a sip from an obviously empty cup. Also, if the machine actually worked he would have scalded himself, as those machines notoriously produce extremely hot beverages.

Continuity mistake: In 1-9 "Road Rayge", Doug and Carrie are sitting watching TV and a song comes on. She tells Doug it is their song, because in junior high he asked her to dance and she said no and gave him the finger. However in this episode we see they first met at a bar and Carrie went home with Richie.
Deliberate mistake: At the beginning of the episode, when Doug and Carrie are in the shower, you see their silhouettes. The first mistake is that for the silhouettes to show like that they have to be evenly backlit which wouldn't make sense in the shower. The second mistake is a little more subtle; you can see the outline where the actor's bathing suits are (inevitably) slightly larger than the bodies. There is also a slight darkening in the areas where the bathing suits cover skin. (both of these things are much easier to see on Carrie than Doug because of her smoother figure and skin tone).
Audio problem: When Doug enters the kitchen wearing his leather jacket and tells Carrie he just got in from riding the bike, you can see the bike parked just outside the kitchen window in the backyard. If that was true it would have been heard from inside the kitchen, as motorcycles are quite loud.
Continuity mistake: When Ritchi and Spence are at the cafe, Spence pours the remainder of the pitcher into his cup. The shot goes back to him, and it appears he took a large sip because his cup is near empty. When Doug and Deacon come in, Spence's glass is almost full again.

Continuity mistake: When Doug has just shot himself and Carrie calls him at work, he looks back to Deacon before answering the phone. On the platform behind Deacon, a woman IPS employee appears instantly. Also, the IPS staff walking behind them do not match between shots.

Continuity mistake: Doug and Carrie are fighting in the kitchen. Around the time that Carrie says, "I give you one thing and you screw it up," Carrie's handbag in the background is standing upright. The shot goes back to Doug. When it goes back to Carrie and she is leaving, she picks up her handbag which is now no longer upright. Her handbag also looks like it has been shifted.
Continuity mistake: When Doug is desperately trying to sell filters at IPS, he drops four boxes. When he picks them up, the position of one box in his right hand is constantly changing. Blue picture is facing the camera, but when the camera cuts, now Writting is facing where the camera was. Doug has not moved in this time.
Other mistake: When Doug and Carrie go to visit the new neighbour, Jessica, Carrie tells her that they live at (street) 8013. But in many other episodes you can see the numbers 3121 on the Heffernan's door and we learn that the Heffernan's live at 3121 Aberdeen Street in Rego Park.
Visible crew/equipment: When Doug and Carrie are arguing about Danny coming over, you can see a stage light (not on) through the door window. We can also the neighbours garage, which we know from many outside shots of the Heffernan's backyard, is not that close to the house.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning when Doug is putting his jacket on to go outside to scrape frost off the car, the lamp in the corner of the living room is off. In the next shot from outside the lamp is instantly on and when can see Carrie did not turn it on.
