Path of Destruction - S2-E2

Plot hole: In order to build up suspense, Virgil and Brains stand on the Crab Logger as its dangerous fuel is pumped out, despite the fact that it is hanging on the edge of a precipice. In fact they could have left as soon as they had plumbed in the pipes to empty the fuel tanks - the whole procedure is controlled by Scott in Thunderbird 1 and they make absolutely no contribution to the operation at all. They do not need to disconnect the pipes; they are left behind and dropped from Thunderbird 1 as planned. They just stand there chatting about how much danger they are in until jumping clear at the very last second. Silly buggers.

Add time

Edge of Impact - S1-E16

Continuity mistake: When The Hood drives his van off the broken bridge whilst escaping the police, watch carefully; the van bounces off the rocks on the other side and starts to fall roof-first into the river below. However, when it cuts to the van falling into the water it falls in upright.

00:42:00

The Uninvited - S1-E5

Visible crew/equipment: When Tin-Tin responds to news of Scott's disappearance, a floor puppeteer's hand (with dirty fingernails) can be seen in the bottom of the screen lifting Tin-Tin from her seat.

Add time

Sun Probe - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: When Thunderbird 2 leaves the hangar on Tracy Island, it appears that Pod 3 has been selected (Pod 2 is visible to the right of Thunderbird 2), yet when Virgil and Brains arrive at Mount Arkan, the Transmitter Truck emerges from Pod 6. (The same continuity error also occurs in the episodes 'Vault Of Death', 'Move - And You're Dead', 'Martian Invasion', 'The Perils Of Penelope' and 'Day Of Disaster', probably due to the same footage being re-used for those episodes).

Add time

Operation Crash-Dive - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: While Gordon Tracey searches for the crashed Fireflash wreckage on the seabed, the parting in his hair keeps changing sides from shot to shot.

Add time

Trapped in the Sky - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: As Fireflash makes its first landing attempt onto the elevator cars, the radio control elevator car on the left can be seen to bear the number 4, even before car 3 had crashed and car 4 had left the pod.

Add time

City of Fire - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: When Scott is in the cockpit of the Mole, he has two blue tubes in the holsters of his belt. But when he is cutting through the fire doors, the tubes have changed to one blue and one yellow.

Add time

Trapped in the Sky - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: When the dummy plane is shot out of the sky by the fighter pilot, a piece of the plane shoots off into the top left of the screen and bounces off the sky background.

00:23:05

The Mighty Atom - S1-E6

Factual error: An edition of the 'Melbourne Herald' newspaper can be seen in this episode, and appears to be dated Friday, December 24, 1964. Yet 'Thunderbirds' is supposed to be set in the 21st Century (2026 or 2065, depending on who you believe). This date is also seen on newspapers which appear in the episodes 'Edge Of Impact', 'The Impostors' and 'Cry Wolf'. Also, to compound the error, December 24th, 1964 was actually a Thursday, not a Friday.

Add time

Vault of Death - S1-E7

Factual error: In the Tube, Virgin and Allan are seen going from Piccadilly Circus station to Bank station using the same tunnel. These two stations are not even on the same line.

Add time

Dr Wilson

Attack of the Alligators - S1-E24

Visible crew/equipment: A film camera and its camera operator can be seen reflected in the glass during a shot of Mrs. Files at the window of Orchard's house in the opening sequence.

Add time

Trapped in the Sky - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When the Hood is taking photographs of Thunderbird 1 at London Airport, one of the photos shows the letter "T" of Thunderbird painted on the red nose cone. All other shots of the craft show the nose cone free of markings.

Add time

Ricochet - S2-E5

Revealing mistake: Near the end of the episode, Thunderbird 2 lands and reverses into its hangar. During this bit, if you look carefully you can see white smoke near the boiler on the far side of the hangar, only this smoke is apparently being sucked into it. This is the usual footage of Thunderbird 2 exiting the hangar played in reverse.

00:42:05

Show generally

Revealing mistake: Throughout the film, whenever part of a wheeled vehicle lifts off the ground, the wheels stop moving instantly. In real life, the wheels would continue to turn at much the same rate, showing that these are unpowered models being pulled along.

Add time

The Uninvited - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: In the pyramid, we see a closeup of Scott's hand grabbing the gun. The color of his uniform changes for a lighter blue in that shot.

Add time

Dr Wilson

Pit of Peril - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: When the shaft that Virgil slides down connects to Thunderbird 2, we can see Pod 3 to the right of Thunderbird 2. Seconds after Virgil's chair has locked into place, we see the pods slide across from left to right, including Pod 3. I thought that was to the right of TB2? It couldn't have been quickly moved to the left, as we see that Pod transportation is very slow. It couldn't of been a spare, as there is no sign of it when we see Pod 1, etc, roll to the right.

Add time

Give or Take a Million - S2-E6

Plot hole: It is supposed to be the middle of the night when Virgil sets off in Thunderbird 2 for Coralville Hospital, but the Thunderbird 2 launch takes place in full daylight.

Add time

Pit of Peril - S1-E2

Revealing mistake: When Scott has retrieved Virgil from the Pit using The Mole, when it reverses back onto its chassis above ground, you can see dust flying upwards from the ground. It is therefore obvious that this is footage played backwards.

00:39:05

City of Fire - S1-E3

Factual error: Although the Thompson Tower is situated in the United States, a sign on the wall of the Control Centre uses the British spelling of 'Centre' instead of the American 'Center'.

Add time

Sun Probe - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: When Virgil radios to Jeff that he is about to land on Mount Arkon, Jeff asks him what the weather's like, to which Virgil replies: "Pretty stormy, Father. Pretty stormy." Then we cut to an exterior of the airborne Thunderbird 2, which is absolutely covered in snow. Just moments later we get a long shot and suddenly Thunderbird 2 is no longer covered in snow. We then get a close-up of the cockpit view, where we see Virgil and Brains, and Thunderbird 2 is covered in snow again. We soon get another couple of shots where it alternates between Thunderbird 2 not snow-covered and then being covered in snow again.

00:28:00

Trapped in the Sky - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the episode, Jeff activates Operation Cover-Up to change the wall-mounted pictures of the International Rescue members from the usual pictures of them in their uniforms to ones of them in casual clothing before a doctor who has just examined Kyrano enters the room. However, while he and Jeff are talking, a couple of shots of Scott and Gordon contain enough of the pictures to show that they have reverted back the ones of them in uniform.

00:48:35

Show generally

Continuity mistake: When Thunderbird 1 prepares for take-off, it moves down a ramp and the launch site is seen at the end. It then cuts to a shot of it moving down the ramp, and then of it arriving at the site. The Thunderbird has suddenly rotated 90 degrees between shots.

Add time

Martian Invasion - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: When Thunderbird 1 arrives at the danger zone, it descends with wheels on the end of the landing gear, but when Thunderbird 1 lands, it lands with skids on the end of the landing gear, and the wheels are no longer there.

Add time

Terror in New York City - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: In "The Ned Cook Show" portion of this episode, Dr. Godber is initially seen sitting in front of Bletcher with at least three rows of seats behind him, but, in another shot, he then appears two rows from the back sat in front of Jeff Tracey.

Add time

Martian Invasion - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: In the Thunderbird 2 hangar, Virgil selects Pod 5, but when the cliff face drops down, Pod 2 is on the right of Thunderbird 2 (instead of Pod 4, which it should be).

Add time

Move - And You're Dead - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: As Alan makes his telecall to Grandma, the close-up of his hand dialing her number shows the push-button dial panel with letters on the left and numbers on the right, but on the puppet-sized telecall unit, the numbers are on the left and the letters are on the right.

Add time

Vault of Death - S1-E7

Visible crew/equipment: When Lambert is leaving his office in the vault, the shadow of a puppeteer is visible on the door frame.

Add time

Dr Wilson

Pit of Peril - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: Although the Sidewinder fell on its back, the crew is always seen standing the right way in the control room.

Add time

Dr Wilson

Attack of the Alligators - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: During the after-mission chat, Alan is wearing a bandage above his left eye due to an injury he picked up on duty. If you look carefully this bandage sometimes changes between shots; it is particularly noticeable when he's in the bathroom with Tin-Tin. Also, the bandage is too small and too high up to have covered the injury adequately.

00:45:25

Sun Probe - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: When Alan, Tin-Tin and Scott are lowered while on the settee to enter Thunderbird 3, looking head-on at them we have the three of them sat in that order from left to right as they descend the shaft. However, when it cuts to the long shot, Alan and Scott have magically swapped places. When they are fully raised into Thunderbird 3, Alan and Scott are back in their original positions on the settee.

00:18:50

The Mighty Atom - S1-E6

Plot hole: The Mighty Atom is only supposed to take pictures of human faces yet we see it taking photos of the machinery in the Saharan Plant when no one is in the room.

Add time

Dr Wilson

Give or Take a Million - S2-E6

Factual error: Tin-Tin tears a page off a calendar which shows the date as 2026, but other calendars indicate that Christmas Day falls on a Sunday for this year. In fact, December 25th, 2026 will be a Friday.

Add time

Brink of Disaster - S1-E11

Continuity mistake: The broken section of monorail track that is attached to the top of the centre coach when Thunderbird 2 lifts it away from the bridge is significantly longer when Virgil sets the coach down on the mountainside.

Add time

30 Minutes After Noon - S1-E18

Factual error: On the night of the Hudson Building fire, the Auto Date Fixer in Commissioner Garfield's office reads 12/7/65. The next day, it reads 13/7/65, illustrating attention to detail on the part of the set decorator. Unfortunately, this overlooks the American convention for the month numeral to appear first. In the US the convention is month/day/year, in the UK the convention is day/month/year. So,either the first date should read 7/12/65 (July 12th) with the next day as 7/13/65, or the second date should read 12/8/65 (December 8th).

Add time

The Imposters - S1-E19

Other mistake: At the end of the episode in the space rocket Scott says "you can say that again" without moving his lips.

Add time

30 Minutes After Noon - S1-E18

Plot hole: When Jeff Tracy contacts Lady Penelope, it is 10:00am in England, yet it is already daylight on Tracy Island in the South Pacific and Alan, Gordon and Tin-Tin have been out fishing for some time. (It is later established in the 1966 "spin off" movie "Thunderbirds Are Go" that there is a five hour time difference between Tracy Island and England. So, using that as a guide, when it's 10am in England, it should be 5am on Tracey Island.)

Add time

Move - And You're Dead - S1-E9

Deliberate mistake: Throughout Thunderbirds, when the script required objects to be manipulated, there were cutways to close up 'insert' shots of real human hands - usually of the puppeteers/crew. However in this episode, Alan's close-up (i.e. live action) hand is remarkably hairy with very dark hair. Yet Alan Tracey is supposed to be 21 and blond haired (including the hair on the back of his hands).

Add time

Path of Destruction - S2-E2

Plot hole: Crablogger designer Jim Lucas lives at 75 Sunnigale Road, Eppington Wood East, Somerset, according to the card that Penelope finds in the personnel files at Robotics International, but she reads it out to Parker as "20 Hazlemere Gardens, Iresham."

Add time

Add time

City of Fire - S1-E3

Other mistake: As Virgil prepares to clear the wreckage of the tower from the rescue area using the Firefly, Scott tells him that he will go over to Thunderbird 2 to prepare the Mole for tunneling. The Tower Controller then says to Scott, "I've got a fast car ready for you outside" without moving his lips.

Add time

Add time

Add time

Audio problem: As John and Gordon are fitting the new component on Thunderbird 5, John says, "It looks like we'll be another two hours before we're back in business. In the meantime, International Rescue is non-operational." But he is voiced by David Graham, not Ray Barrett.

Add time

Continuity mistake: When Alan contacts his father at Tracy Island, Jeff asks him "How's the situation, boy?" Alan informs him that Grandma has passed out in the heat and Alan's face is covered in sweat. Add time

Show generally

Other mistake: Every time Thunderbird 3 is used during a mission, members of the Tracy family enter it by being lowered on the settee onto a mini rail system, which takes them to Thunderbird 3's hangar before a pole raises the settee into the ship. However, during the initial descent, there is usually an empty settee that passes behind the descending one carrying the impending Thunderbird 3 crew, to fill in the resulting hole in the floor. If the ascending one passes behind the descending one then there is no way that it could fill that hole as it would be too far back.

Add time

Desparate Intruder - S1-E17

Continuity mistake: When Brains falls under The Hood's influence, he collapses, and between shots his glasses simply disappear. They are subsequently shown to have fallen off, but the action is not seen on screen: one moment the glasses are on his face and the next they have vanished.
