100 Terrible Hours - S4-E28

Corrected entry: While Rob is by himself at the WOFF radio station the "On the Air" sign is above the door behind him and there is a giant window there beside the door. When Rob is doing the 100 hours of being on the radio the door, the window and room are completely different. No door, record disc holder, other equipment, or window behind him.

Correction: The studio looks different because when Rob does the 100 hours, he's doing it in a storefront window. People are standing outside and passing by to watch him. He's not in the studio.

Correction: There is no 69970 zip code in the U.S. If there was, it would probably be in or near Nebraska not New York. New York zip codes range from 00501 to 14925.

Who Stole My Watch? - S5-E14

Other mistake: Evan from the insurance company comes over to ask Laura and Rob several questions but not once does he find out any names from the party. But the next day Buddy, Sally, Mel, Jerry and Millie all get really angry because of Rob and his interrogator just assuming that they stole the watch.

Suggested correction: Evans says he had all the preliminary information from Rob's earlier phone call including the names of the party guests.

Correction: Rob and Jerry bought a boat together. However there is an earlier episode that refers to Alan's yacht.

Suggest slightly different wording as it was only one episode, and the fact that it was an earlier episode is important: Rob and Jerry bought a boat together. However there is an earlier episode that refers to Alan's yacht.

Hastor

Correction: Rob didn't say anything when finding Buddy and Sally found out about the yacht.

The Great Petrie Fortune - S5-E6

Plot hole: If Rob was just 12 or 13 when he last saw his grandfather (that's what they said in this episode, also he never called his grandfather ever from what it looks like) then his grandfather wouldn't know that he has been working on a TV program. (He started working on the Alan Brady show when he was 20, not before).

Suggested correction: First of all, it is Rob's great-uncle, not his grandfather. And what makes you think he wouldn't know? Off the top of my head, I can think of a dozen ways he could have known. He was watching the show and saw Rob's name in the credits. His brother called him to brag about his grandson. He read a magazine article about television comedy writers. Etc. Etc.

The Great Petrie Fortune - S5-E6

Factual error: Rob tells this lady that the guy that passed away was his great-uncle and that the last time he saw him was when Rob was 12 years old... This is the same Grandpa that was also seen in the episode "What's in a Middle Name" (in this episode in season 5 Richie would be 10 or 11. But the other episode he was supposedly 8).

Suggested correction: You seem to be confused about Hezekiah's relationship to Rob. He is Rob's great-uncle which means he's the brother of Rob's grandfather, the character from "What's in a Middle Name?" (And by the way, the scene in that episode took place before Richie was even born. The fact that they were arguing over his name should have been a clue).

What's in a Middle Name? - S2-E7

Deliberate mistake: Rob, Sally and Buddy's "old office" is exactly the same shape as Robs basement (except for the door in the center of the back wall. Instead of going upstairs it's all on 1 level. There's a door to the right which goes into a random room which we never get to see inside). (00:10:38)

Suggested correction: Since you listed multiple differences, it's obviously not "exactly the same." Filmmakers not building every set and prop from scratch is not a mistake. Modifying and reusing old sets is just an economic reality of production. If anything this should be under trivia.

Suggested correction: Rob specifically said he broke the tooth on a chicken bone that was in the sandwich.

What's in a Middle Name? - S2-E7

Other mistake: Laura tells Sally, Rob and the rest of the staff she's going to have a baby in a few days or so while she was at the Alan Brady Show. If Laura is going to have a baby she should have the baby bump the whole episode while she and Rob are reminiscing. (00:05:00)

Suggested correction: She says no such thing in that scene.

100 Terrible Hours - S4-E28

Other mistake: The record that is to Rob's right (our left) isn't spinning while the base part under it is, until Rob puts the ceramic coffee cup on the record. Notice that ceramic coffee cup is also the same coffee cup that Rob threw away in the episode "Your Home Sweet Is My Home"

Suggested correction: So you are claiming that they somehow rigged the turntable so it would spin without spinning the record until he put the cup down on it. For what reason? No only does this error defy common sense, it is obviously wrong if you watch the episode. The record is spinning. You can see the variations in the highlights on the surface as it does so. Also, it is not a ceramic cup, it is a paper cup, complete with a folding paper handle. And it in no way resembles any cup used in "Your Home Sweet Home is My Home."

I did great! I forgot which episode I saw the same cup in.

Bupkis - S4-E24

Other mistake: When Rob dials the radio station, he dials the phone number and then looks it up in the phone book. He covers for himself, and then has a hard time keeping a straight face afterwards.

Pam-I-am

Suggested correction: The part is Rob checking to see if he had the right number.

The Ghost of A. Chantz - S4-E3

Factual error: When Laura and Sally are about to go to the bedroom, Buddy and Rob are going to sleep in the living room of the haunted cabin. Rob and Laura tell Buddy and Sally things like how he steals the pillow and he takes all the covers at home. However at home, they sleep in twin beds so they shouldn't know such things. However, they do have a son. They had to share a bed at least once in their marriage.

Pam-I-am

Suggested correction: Or they sleep in twin beds because he steals the pillow and takes the covers when they tried sharing a double bed.

It's not true that Rob steals pillows... Because every episode Rob has only 2 pillows. Unless he steals them in the middle of the commercials... and then they vanish before the next scene.

Long Night's Journey into Day - S5-E23

Stupidity: Rob tells Jerry "I haven't stopped sneezing long enough to take allergy pills" yet right after he says that, he doesn't sneeze anymore till he gives out his home address. He could have just taken his pills then. Someone behind the camera probably reminded him to continue sneezing. (00:16:52 - 00:18:00)

Suggested correction: He's exaggerating, but a character not taking a pill in this situation doesn't constitute a stupidly mistake (minor plot hole). I've been in situations where I needed to take an allergy or pain pill and didn't, even though I had a chance, because my mind or focus was somewhere else.

Suggested correction: So they got a new bookshelf between episodes. Or they moved it from another, unseen part of the room.

I fixed it.

Suggested correction: Of course he does. He is punch drunk from the lack of sleep. That's the point.

On hour 24 Rob couldn't even say the rhyme at all, he also sounded slightly drunk, also his lower eye lids got dark. I have been up for 48 hours before and my eye lids never turned that color also I didn't act slightly drunk like that either. So it's not actually true to life here.

Liz Blue 1970

1) You can't assume your personal experiences is typical of everyone's. 2) I doubt your experience was very funny. In a comedy, stupidity overrides "true to life."

More like dumbness overrides "true to life." I'm pretty sure that falling down the stairs is funny to some people (which is what I did).
