Continuity mistake: While the Griffin family are at the Heimlich maneuver class, there is a scene where Stewie is talking to a doll and putting his clothes on. You can see that he has no shoes on but when he sticks his feet through the pant leg holes, shoes suddenly come out of the pants and he has his shoes on.
Factual error: In the very beginning of Perfect Castaway, when Peter is talking to his workers and telling them he's going to have to "put them down", he pulls out a shotgun and four shells. He puts two shells in each barrel, but then continues to shoot 5 times when they jump in the water. First of all the shotgun is a double-barreled, break action type shotgun, so Peter should only have been able to put two shells in it. Second of all, even if he could put two shells in each barrel, he would only be able to fire it four times.
Continuity mistake: In the episode where Brian and Lois get married, Lois confronts Brian after cheating with Peter back at the house. Stewie is playing with a SIMON SAYS game. Look at the SIMON SAYS when he is playing it (up close), after he is done (the close up shot ends), look at the colors again on the SIMON SAYS, they change.
Deliberate mistake: In season 4 episode 7, 'Brian the bachelor'. Cleveland is sitting in a chair in a waiting room and is getting really nervous. Peter tries to help him by tying him to a chair and when that doesn't work, he takes off all of their clothes. Peter ties Cleveland's hands to the arms of the chair and then takes Cleveland's clothes off. He couldn't have taken the shirt off while Cleveland's hands were tied to something without untying him or ripping the shirt, which he didn't do.

Continuity mistake: When the Griffins are driving to Washington we see a faraway shot of the car driving from left to right. Peter and Lois are in the front and Chris is leaning back on the back seat. In the next shot, Chris is leaning forward against the back of Peter and Lois's seats.
Continuity mistake: In the episode "Petarded", when Peter is in court, when he says he is going to call "the ghost that never lies" to the stand, only Stewie is visible over Peter's shoulder. But when Peter says "But only I can see him", Meg is also visible over his shoulder.
Continuity mistake: In series 4 episode 13 Jungle Love: When the family are escaping the tribespeople, Chris is wearing the tribal clothing. When they jump in the plane there is a brief far-off shot of Chris wearing his usual cap and t-shirt. In a close up shot moments later, he is wearing the tribal gear again.
Continuity mistake: When Stewie is in the sterile glass cage, Lois is changing his diaper with rubber gloves built into one of the panels (like Homer Simpson's in the opening credits). In previous and subsequent shots, however, the panel is solid glass, with no gloves. (Series 4: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz).
Factual error: At the end of Peter's trombone solo, he holds out his last note. While holding the note, he moves the slide with no change to the note whatsoever. Since the pitch of the trombone is controlled by the slide, it would be impossible for Peter to move the slide as much as he does without changing the pitch he's playing.
Continuity mistake: When we first see all the guys at the NAAFP meeting, there are two guys in the top right corner; one with a singlet and one with brown hair and a green-brown T-shirt. In the next shot, these two guys come in from the opposite side of the screen.
Continuity mistake: Just after Patrick 'kisses' his imaginary girlfriend goodbye and tells Brian to look after her, Brian switches position on the couch. In the first shot he is sitting on a crack between couch pillows, but in the next shot he is sitting in the middle of the centre pillow.
Continuity mistake: In the episode when Peter finds out that he is retarded, in the scene where they are about to start shooting at each other, when Peter says, "Nobody fire at Lois. She's scared.", look over his shoulder. In the picture, Stewie is facing left. Later, when they're shooting at each other, Stewie is facing right.
Continuity mistake: When Francis is standing on a chair, nailing the crucifix above the door, the bottom of the crucifix overlaps onto the door frame, but when Francis comes down from the chair, the bottom of the crucifix is above the door frame.
Plot hole: Brian and Peter see Loretta and Quagmire having sex yet, they aren't sure who she's having an affair with. There's no way they couldn't have noticed it was Quagmire - the couch was facing the front door! And obviously Quagmire was on top of Loretta considering the fact that he leans up, says something, then she tells him to get back down here and finish.
Character mistake: When the family is about to drown in the panic room and start arguing with Peter about not liking "The Godfather," Chris starts listing off the great actors in it. "Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, I mean, you've never seen...ROBERT DUVALL!" Robert DeNiro is in "The Godfather Part II," but not in the first one.
Continuity mistake: When Peter is about to walk into the Drunken Clam, his seeing-eye dog refuses to go inside, so he puts the leash on a homeless man, thinking it was a fire hydrant. We actually see a fire hydrant in front of the homeless man, but then when Peter ties the dog up, it's gone.
Continuity mistake: When Stewie is playing golf at the top of the stairs before attacking Brian, the layout of the upstairs floor changes quite radically between shots. First Stewie is playing golf with the stairway behind him. Then when Brian puts on the disguise and walks past, there's suddenly a wall behind Stewie. Brian walks off to the left and Stewie begins to chase him that way, but in the next shot Stewie is chasing Brian off to the right. In that same shot you can see that Stewie is running away from the stairs, but in the next shot, without changing direction, he pushes Brian down the stairs, which mysteriously have appeared in front of him.
Continuity mistake: During the scene where the Griffins have Tom Brady over for dinner, when we first see the establishing shot of everyone at the table, Chris is sitting with an empty chair between him and Tom. However, when he asks if he can call him Tom along with Lois and Meg, he is sitting right next to Tom, with no empty chair between the two.
