The Simpsons

The Simpsons (1989)

96 corrected entries in season 3

Stark Raving Dad - S3-E1

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the episode, Bart is talking about being 10 years old even though his 10th birthday is in the episode "Radio Bart" later in the season.

sam145

Correction: Bart has been 10 since the first episode. Since the Simpsons don't age, every birthday of Bart's is his 10th birthday. Homer is the only one that seems to age.

Nikolai

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: At recess, Bart splits his pants in front of the girls. This split isn't visible in any other part of the episode.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: This episode takes place over multiple days so he could have changed his pants at the start of each day.

moviefan2345

Colonel Homer - S3-E20

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the episode, the family goes to the Googolplex theater but when the show cuts to a shot of the movie screen when Bart and Lisa are watching Space Mutants, the decor around the screen indicates that they are at the Aztec theater.

xx:xx:xx

Correction: Seeing how Springfield used the same plans for Springfield Elementary and North Springfield Elementary it should be no surprise that two theaters in Springfield have the same decor.

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When Homer is on the phone with someone in his work station, (I think it's Lisa) he's talking on a phone that's connected to his work panel. When he turns to his right, there's another phone connected to the wall. Why would one person need two phones?

Jack Kaltenbach

Correction: One closed-circuit intercom for calls made inside the plant, and one regular phone. For instance.

Twotall

Brother Can You Spare Two Dimes? - S3-E24

Corrected entry: Homer wants a vibrating chair because his sofa fell apart, which his brother buys for him at the end. In the last scene, Marge is sitting on the same sofa as if it is intact.

OL1V3R666

Correction: Homer's brother could've paid for a new, resembling the old one.

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: As Maggie makes her wish, the wall color in the room changes from pink to green.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The only shot with a green background is that of the actual paw, and it's an overhead view showing a green floor. The wall colour never changes.

Radio Bart - S3-E13

Corrected entry: When Bart talks through the microphone after pulling it out of Santa's Little Helper's mouth, he talks in the exact same voice as Todd Flanders.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Bart is impersonating a young boy (not necessarily Todd Flanders). He doesn't use his normal voice during the whole prank.

Black Widower - S3-E21

Corrected entry: When Selma is in the bath with a cigarette, she sinks under the water dragging the cigarette with her. However, if you look and listen very closely, the sound of the cigarette being extinguished happens very slightly before it actually makes contact with the water.

Correction: In the shot as she is just about to go under the water, you can see the cigarette start to glow a bit redder. This would mean Selma is inhaling as she is going under the water. As she would be inhaling, a small area below the lit area would start to get hotter and so would make sense that the sound of it being extinguished just a split second before the lit area goes under the water.

Lummie

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: Mr. Burns and Smithers put Homer in the bag. They weren't carrying a bag when they got to the cemetery.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It was inside Smithers' coat.

tw_stuart

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: At the end of Part 1, the crowd carrying Flanders jumps from being on his front lawn to the middle of the street.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: No they don't, they are on the pavement in every shot.

tw_stuart

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When the aliens land in Springfield, the number and positions of the crowd in front of the Jebediah statue change between shots.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: There are various different shots from different angles, it's impossible to tell if the crowd is really changing.

tw_stuart

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When Homer, Bart, Lisa and Maggie are eating candy, they eat and eat without taking the wrappers off.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: We never see any of them eat candy with the wrapper on.

tw_stuart

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When the family (except Marge) starts eating candy, their costumes are suddenly off, when they never had time to take them off.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Bart is wearing exactly what he was wearing in the previous shot and Lisa is wearing the bottom half of her costume. The top half came off when Bart pushed her over.

tw_stuart

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When Homer shuts the door after his candy gets stolen, we only hear eggs being thrown at the door. In the next shot, the pumpkin beside the door appears to be broken.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: They presumably kicked it or stood on it which wouldn't necessarily be a loud enough noise for us to hear from inside.

tw_stuart

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: At the beginning, when Jimbo and Kearney take Homer's candy, the door knocker is gone in the first shot. There is also a peephole on the inside of the door, and is never visible from the outside.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Not really, Homer opens the door so fast we don't have time to see the knocker and then the place where it should be is blocked by his head. As for the peephole maybe it was one of Homers DIY projects.

tw_stuart

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: Homer takes a drink of his beer, but his mouth doesn't open.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: His mouth may only be slightly open, and you don't need to fully open your mouth to drink. It is possible to drink with your mouth only slightly open.

OL1V3R666

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: The kitchen appears to be very different after Marge finds out Homer bought a horse.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The kitchen does not at all look different.

OL1V3R666

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When Lisa calls Homer at the power plant, the same footage of him sleeping and waking up in the beginning is used.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: There is nothing contradicting continuity by reusing this shot, so this isn't really a mistake.

OL1V3R666

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: While Bart is watching TV, Homer comes home, and Bart is holding a bottle. He never had it when he came into the living room.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Given Bart's powers in this episode he could easily have made a bottle appear. A more mundane explanation is that Lisa or Marge brought it to him, there was more than enough time.

tw_stuart

The Otto Show - S3-E22

Corrected entry: When Otto plays Bart's guitar for the first time on the bus, it generates an amazing electric sound, but it isn't even plugged into an amp.

Correction: That's the joke.

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When we see the outside of Fiesta Terrace, it is a reused shot from 'Life on the Fast Lane'.

OL1V3R666

Correction: Not a mistake, unless there's anything contradicting continuity in that shot.

Lummie

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Homer says "Ooo, that's a lot of money" at Smithers near the beginning, the background is very different, and doesn't go with the scene.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It does look slightly different but it is a different angle and we see the entrance to the cafeteria, which could easily have a vending machine outside so it makes sense.

tw_stuart

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Mr. Burns says "That's one big check," the red chair he was just sitting in has vanished.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The shot changes to an overhead one where the red chair could easily be still there but just out of shot.

tw_stuart

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Homer gets in the car and watches Mr. Burns on television, the lunch box he was just carrying has vanished.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: He could easily have placed it on the ground.

tw_stuart

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Homer hangs up on his stockbroker, the candy bar in Homer's right hand has disappeared.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The hand holding the candy bar is out of shot during most of the conversation between Homer and his stockbroker so he had more than enough time to put it down.

tw_stuart

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: In the original version (released on DVD), when Homer puts his dollar bill in the vending machine, a little bit of the screen is cut off on the left side.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It all looks OK to me on my DVD.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: When Krusty does his performance in front of Rabbis, when Krusty's father starts talking to another Rabbi, you can see a third Rabbi at another table in the background. In the next two shots this rabbi has vanished.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Between the two shots there is a shot of Krusty. In this shot there is enough time for the rabbi to get up.

OL1V3R666

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When Homer buys the severed hand, the person selling it says "I strongly advise you not to purchase this item". Then why is he even selling it in the first place if he'd advise people not to buy it?

OL1V3R666

Correction: He may only want certain people (such as those he does not like) to buy it. He's advising Homer not to buy it as he's done no wrong in the seller's books.

Andy Benham

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When Lisa says "I'll never forget you," to the horse, her mouth doesn't move.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: We only see the back of Lisa's head so it's impossible to know if her mouth moves or not.

tw_stuart

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: The interior of the living room is different when Lisa kisses Homer.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: We are seeing it from a different angle than normal so it's hard to know if it's really different. Even if it is, this is not a mistake. There is time before and after for things to change.

tw_stuart

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When Lisa eats a spoon of the ice cream, there is chocolate left over. It suddenly changes to being clean.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The spoon is out of shot while we are seeing Homer. Lisa may have licked it clean or the ice cream may have have just melted.

tw_stuart

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: Homer enters the back left door of the auditorium. He jumps to the right side when seen clapping.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: In between Homer entering and us seeing him clapping, we see Lisa on stage. Homer had plenty of time to move to the right.

tw_stuart

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When Lisa starts playing her bad performance, we can hear people clapping, but the audience doesn't do anything.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: We see the audience from behind, they could easily be clapping their hands without us seeing.

tw_stuart

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the talent show, Skinner tells the audience that all the doors are locked. Homer enters the auditorium during Lisa's performance.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Skinner was joking, safety requirements would not allow him to lock the doors.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: When Krusty leaves the Simpson house, he is suddenly wearing his coat.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: No, the scene where he is wearing his coat is completely different from when he is leaving the house. He may have gone home in between.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: When Krusty ends his show at the beginning, the people surrounding him have suddenly disappeared.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: No, the shot changes from a wide look at the whole cast to one of the camera screen which has zoomed in on Krusty so he's the only one we can see.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: When Krusty arrives at the Simpson house, the time on the clock in the background changes.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: That's what clocks do, even in cartoons. The changes in time make perfect sense.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: In the beginning, when Krusty does his axe-throwing act on Sideshow Mel, the number of axes on the board changes from four to five.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Look closely, it's always five both in the wide and the close up shots.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: The big green chair that Lisa sits in disappears and reappears.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It was moved to give Krusty space for his unicycle act and then put back.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: During the dinner scene, many things keep changing around, i.e. the glasses, the food, the silverware, etc.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: This is normal during dinner and there was plenty of time during Krusty's story when we couldn't see the table for things to be moved.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: The monkey doesn't have a tail.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Not at all clear if this is true, the monkey may simply have its tail between its legs.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: When Bart writes the letter to Krusty, most of the objects on the table have disappeared.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: We see Bart clear a number of things from the table and then the angle changes to one where we can no longer see what's on it, so no mistake.

tw_stuart

Flaming Moe's - S3-E10

Corrected entry: When the two pictures are shown of the tyre fire, now and 25 years ago, the clouds in the sky are the same.

OL1V3R666

Correction: Not a mistake but a joke by the show's makers. Even 25 years, long after the fire should have gone out yet it is still raging and everything including the clouds are exactly the same.

Lummie

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: When Marge asks Homer to open the door for her sisters, he says "Patty. THELMA." (The English captioning has that mistake as well, but is correct in the Spanish captioning)

xx:xx:xx

Correction: He actually says Selma, and the DVD English subtitles (in Region 2 at least) also say this. Listen closely.

Dog of Death - S3-E19

Corrected entry: When Mr Burns' hounds chase Ned Flanders, they jump across the screen and simultaneously growl. However their mouths don't move when growling.

OL1V3R666

Correction: Having owned various dogs for 30 years, I can tell you that a dog's mouth does not have to move for it to be able to growl. The growl comes from deep in their throat.

Guy

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: At Moe's tavern, the beer in everyone's glasses is very odd. In Barney's glass the liquid is shaped like a hand, and the other guy's glass is shaped like a half-oval, with foam coming out of it.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Odd is permissible in the Tree House episodes. Some of the normal rules don't apply.

tw_stuart

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: During this episode, Krusty is seen looking at the Simpsons videos and some Jewish magazines. Krusty can obviously understand what they are saying (as he seems eager to watch a video he finds at the Simpsons house and he gets very upset looking at a Jewish father/son magazine). However, he is supposed to be illiterate, reinforced by the fact that Krusty couldn't read Bart's letter early in the same episode.

Correction: Illiterate doesn't mean he can't recognise a video from the picture on the front. As for the magazine, the picture on the front is of a Jewish father and son and would be enough to provoke Krusty's reaction.

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: 40 seconds pass during the time period when the announcer says there is 1 minute left and 30 seconds left. Also between the announcer saying there is a half-minute left and 15 seconds left, 25 seconds pass.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It's normal movie practice to show sequentially events which are intended to be in parallel (the alternative is a very ugly split screen). Between the announcements for one minute and 30 seconds left, Homer has a flashback and during the countdown from 30 to 15, we see the TV announcer explaining who will survive and who will not. The time in Homer's reality is correct.

tw_stuart

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: In the shot after Smithers asks Mr. Burns where his radiation suit is, Marge's knitting supplies have disappeared.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Marge is no longer holding her knitting but she's been out of shot for easily long enough to have put them down or even put them away.

tw_stuart

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: When Homer is sleeping in Sector 7G, the illumination of the room has changed.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: True but this is a completely new scene, Homer could simply have turned the lights off.

tw_stuart

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: When Smithers shows Mr. Burns the picture of his dog, he is standing to the right of him. Immediately after, he is standing in front of the TV monitors.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: They're both in front of the TV monitors. We see Smithers from two different angles and he has time to move when Mr Burns is in shot so there's nothing unusual about this scene.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: When the police trap Snake after the car chase they say he's trapped in meaning there was only one way in. So how does Snake get his car stuck in the alleyway when he must have got through the alleyway to begin with?

Lummie

Correction: There was only one way in and out for a car as Snake finds out. The alley they both came in is obviously different from the one Snake tries to escape through. This is further confirmed by the fact that the police car is not parked at the end of the alley Snake tries to exit through.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: During the car chase scene, Snake drives into the parking lot and there is a large "Parking" sign yet when the police come through the sign is gone.

xx:xx:xx

Lummie

Correction: The shot with Snake coming through is a wide shot where we can see the sign. When the police come through the shot is much tighter and the sign is above what we can see.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: When Lisa is in Skinner's office after sassing Miss Hoover, her hands change position between shots.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Again true but she has time to change the position of her hands when we see her from behind. We can't see her hands during this time.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: In Bart's imagination, when he is in the courtroom with his face censored, when the guy with the knife grabs Bart, the judge has disappeared.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Not possible to tell, the shot is looking up from a very low position. The judge could easily still be there without us being able to see him.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: When the mean girls try to get Lisa out of the bad girl's washroom, the magazine that one of the girls was carrying disappears. The cigarette that the other girl was holding also vanishes.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: This is all true but the girl whose magazine disappears is out of shot for long enough to have dropped it or even put it down. The other girl's hand is out of sight long enough for her to have dropped it just as we saw the first girl do earlier.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: When Lisa enters the bad girl's washroom for the first time, the books she is carrying switches arms.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: This is true but not in the least bit surprising since we clearly see Lisa switching the books from under her left arm to under her right.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: Bart is seen repeatedly switching where he sits in the back of the car before and during the car chase.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The submission is nonsense. Yes we see Bart moving but he moves himself and then we see him being thrown about in the car during the chase all of which is completely normal.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: When the cops pick up Bart at the Simpson house, it is daytime. Immediately after it is nighttime.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It's a completely different shot which does not have to directly follow in time.

tw_stuart

Radio Bart - S3-E13

Corrected entry: When Bart accidentally drops the radio down the well, we can see in the first shot that the rope is in a bundle and is very long. In the next shot the rope appears to be shorter.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Easy explanation. There were two pieces of rope wrapped in the bundle and Bart assumed it was one long piece. That's why he dropped the radio. The rest of the rope is still lying at Barts feet where we can't see it.

tw_stuart

Radio Bart - S3-E13

Corrected entry: When Bart makes Mrs. Krabappel 'fart,' the bulletin board on the wall keeps changing between shots.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Sorry but no it doesn't, we see it from various different positions in the classroom so it appears to be different but the separate shots are consistent with the whole.

tw_stuart

Lisa the Greek - S3-E14

Corrected entry: At the very end when Homer runs out of Moes there is no street and only a grey wall

xx:xx:xx

Correction: We can't see any detail to know what's outside. It simply looks as if it's dark so we can't see anything.

tw_stuart

Lisa the Greek - S3-E14

Corrected entry: While Lisa gives her speech at school, Miss Hoover seems to have only one leg.

xx:xx:xx

rabid anarchist

Correction: Her other leg is obviously raised and the flat of her foot is leaning against the desk. We can't see it because of her long skirt.

tw_stuart

Radio Bart - S3-E13

Corrected entry: When Bart opens Marge's sisters' present, Martin has disappeared for one shot.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Martin is simply out of shot to the right of Bart. He hasn't disappeared.

tw_stuart

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: After Bart crashes at the social club, it has stopped raining.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Not at all clear why the rain stopping is a mistake.

tw_stuart

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: Bart leaves home and walks to school. Later, though, he leaves school with his skateboard.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: He left his skateboard at school the previous day which is why he walked to school. Probably the skateboard had been confiscated.

tw_stuart

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: When Bart arrives late at the social club, he is mumbling. His mouth doesn't move.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: It's quite easy to mumble without moving one's mouth, I get accused of it all the time.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: When Homer does the test again, he doesn't read the questions in order if you look carefully on the sheet.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: There is no reason why he has to read them in order. He's answering the ones he knows first which is something many people do.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: Before the time trials start, we can see how far the track is, but while Bart, Nelson and Martin are racing, considering the speed they're traveling, the track seems much longer.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: I've watched this scene again and there's nothing unusual about the length of the track or the time they take to complete it. When we see the track at the start we can't see the finish line so we have no way of telling if they take unusually long.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: If you watch the scene in slow motion where Nelson is attacking Bart at the time trials, you can see another Bart in the audience.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: During this scene all the characters watching the race are blurred to give the impression of speed so there's no way to know if it's Bart since we can barely make out the faces. It's certainly someone wearing a red t-shirt but that doesn't make it Bart especially since the person appears to be much taller than a small boy.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: When Bart is showing his Soap Box racer To Martin and his other friends, we see an oil spill on the driveway which is grey. In another shot, the oil is black.

Correction: The view of the oil spill is from completely different angles so it's just a trick of the light. Oil can also be rainbow coloured in the right light.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: As Bart tells his friends about his racer, there is a set of stairs visible at an impossible area of the garage.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: The stairs are inside the house, we are seeing the underside of them.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: On his soapbox derby racer, Bart is pounding his hammer on an area that doesn't have nails in it.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Pure speculation, we can't see the area he is hitting in enough detail to know if there are nails or not.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: During the finals, if there was a paper speedometer on the Honor Roller, why would the speedometer be working at all then?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: This is a simple one, we never see the speedometer working. We see the needle fixed in one position before it peels off so no mistake.

tw_stuart

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: Homer complains that he missed a part of Joe Theisman. It's a TAPE. He can just watch it over again.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: True but this is Homer, he could easily have forgotten or may just be irritated at the interuption. Either way it's not a mistake.

tw_stuart

Separate Vocations - S3-E18

Corrected entry: When Snake attempts to kill Bart, his plan fails when his car gets stuck between two walls. Right after, Bart and the cops are standing beside the car.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: I'm not sure if this was in there originally but on the DVD version they have a shot where the cops say "Good thing this alley way got so narrow" which means this was done intentionally for humor.

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When Homer wishes for his turkey sandwich, we can see tomatoes in it. Homer never said anything about tomatoes.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: He ordered turkey and he got turkey salad. There aren't that many people who would complain. Who makes plain sandwiches nowadays?

Stark Raving Dad - S3-E1

Corrected entry: After Marge finds out that Bart didn't watch Maggie, she spits her pacifier at him. In the very next shot her pacifier is back in her mouth.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Almost every other show it is demonstrated that Maggie has hundreds of pacifiers available to her. She spits one out, and she gets another one. That's just what happend here.

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: Krusty tells the monkey to wait in the car. However, when Krusty leaves, he has no car.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: "Go wait in the car" is a common form of dismissal in the film/t.v. industry - it means "sod off", words to that effect. No car is involved.

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: Why would the audience NOT notice that Nelson was given a knife by his friends?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Even if they did see, why would they care? Knives aren't illegal and for all they knew, the knife could have been his to begin with.

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: If Seymour was trapped under papers, wouldn't his mother set him free somehow?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: If the police couldn't find or hear him despite being in the garage then she would most likely not hear him either.

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: In Krusty's story, when he's doing his performance with balloons on the stage, we can see Krusty's father in the background, watching and clapping at Krusty.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: His father didn't know that it was his son until the other Rabbi sprayed him with the seltzer, washing off Krusty's makeup.

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: At the beginning of Part 1, we are told that the Simpsons are in Marrakech, Morocco. At the airport, however, we can see on the building 'Marrakesh Airport' - the spelling is different.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Transliterations from other languages, especially unrelated languages, into English are inexact and even inconsistent. How many ways are there of spelling, in English, the name of the dictator of Libya? Gaddafi, Qaddafi, Kaddafi ...

Bob Blumenfeld

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: Krusty's fancy coat is missing during dinner.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: There was a few minutes between these two scenes and it would have taken only a few seconds for Krusty to take it off.

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: When the meltdown is in progress Smithers says that Homer was hired under Project Bootstrap, yet in the episode titled "I Married Marge" we see that it was Mr.Burns himself that hired Homer.

Correction: Although Homer is hired by Mr Burns in a later episode (when Bart visits the powerplant) Homer is fired by the twins' dad. He is then rehired under that thing Smithers said.

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: If the cops are standing right beside the room where Skinner's trapped, and the door is partially open, why would the cops NOT hear Skinner when he yelled?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: This is a mistake, but it is the point of the joke. The cops tear apart Skinners room to find him, but don't hear him yelling in the next room.

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: How can Lisa eat breakfast and get on the bus in a matter of seconds? Also, Bart changes from being in his pyjamas to his normal clothing in no time at all.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: If lisa can eat breakfast and bart instantly changes there could have been a small break between the two parts.

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: When Krusty leaves, we can see Lisa at the door with Bart and Marge. However, she was sleeping just a few shots earlier.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Marge could have woken her up to see off their guest.

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: When the school bus stops at Springfield Elementary, it is visible that the bus stops on the sidewalk.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Otto is driving. It is not impossible or a mistake for them to be parked on the sidewalk.

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When Mr. Burns is deliberately making Homer unconscious, he is exceptionally strong. He is supposed to be weak, as in "Homer Defined," when he couldn't give a thumbs-up.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Since this is a spin-off type episode it doesn't have to follow the other episodes. The Halloween episodes have completely random continuity, with people dying/being changed to other forms/attacked by aliens, etc.

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: After Homer loses his job, he is jamming a fork in the toaster. We see sparks coming out of it, proving it's plugged in, so Homer should have been electrocuted as soon as he did this.

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Electricity takes the shortest route possible, in this case, between the toaster heating elements, through the fork, to some part of the toaster that is grounded. Homer is not grounded, there is no reason for the electricity to go through him. I am not telling you to try it, but you may be surprised.

Sol Parker

When Flanders Failed - S3-E3

Corrected entry: If Bart has been ditching karate class, wouldn't Akira contact Bart's parents about it?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: No. He didn't really sign up for anything and Akira never found out his name, he just turned up with his ten dollars and joined in, not like anyone got to know him.

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: How can Moe not realize he got a prank call that's really long, and isn't even asking for a name?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: He does know that it's a prank call and that Bart is the one calling. He goes along with it because he doesn't want to make Bart mad.

Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington - S3-E2

Corrected entry: Isn't it out of character for Nelson Muntz to be in an essay contest?

xx:xx:xx

Yoshi

Correction: Nelson is a character with many sides, some of them not as obvious as others. He has his moments of decency and brilliance. Think of when he was dating Lisa, for example.

Sereenie

When Flanders Failed - S3-E3

Corrected entry: At the end of the episode Homer says, "To Flanders, the richest left-handed guy I know." The problem is, Flanders isn't; Mr.Burns is the richest left-handed guy he knows, because Homer told Mr.Burns to go to the store.

xx:xx:xx

Correction: Two ways to correct this: 1) Homer isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box, as evidenced by the multitude of times he's forgotten the names of his loved ones (especially Maggie, poor baby), so the notion that he'd forget about Mr Burns (his boss, who he despises most of the time) isn't outside the realm of possibility. 2) Perhaps, in one of those rare moments of Homer-esque brilliance, he didn't mean "rich" in the monetary sense, but rather in the humanitarian sense.

The Otto Show - S3-E22

Corrected entry: When Homer and Marge are discussing buying Bart a guitar, whenever there is a close-up of Marge, you can see that there are some patterns of trains on the wall behind her. They aren't there when the shot is of both Homer and Marge.

Correction: When the shot is of Marge, the camera is in the corner where Maggie's crib is. Therefore, the trains are on the other end of the room.

Mistakes

This is a mistake for the introduction for the later episodes. When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage.

Trivia

The Simpsons holds the record for most guest stars; it is also the only non-variety show to have had appearances from three former Beatles (Paul, George and Ringo).
