Continuity mistake: During the "performance" at the end of Marge's book, "Ned" is skewered by a harpoon and falls off the cliff. When "Homer" walks up to the cliff edge you can no longer see the rope trailing from the end of the harpoon. However, moments later he gets his leg caught up in it and is pulled over himself.

Continuity mistake: When Marge is typing her novel on the computer, in one close-up shot of her we see there is a pencil on one side of the table and a pot of flowers on the other. Yet when the shot changes to further away we can see that the pencil has been replaced by a napki, a pot with two pencils has appeared, and the flowers have moved to this side of the table as well.
Continuity mistake: When Homer and Marge think they have finally got away from Bart and Lisa and Homer is about to look in the dinner bowl, on the table holding the food there is a bottle of champagne and two glasses, yet when Bart and Lisa jump out the 3 things have vanished.
Continuity mistake: Right at the end Lisa is holding a doll head and some cards. There is a very brief shot of Bart, and then when it's back on Lisa she doesn't have anything in her hands when they hug. There wasn't time for them to be put down and you cannot see them anywhere either.

Continuity mistake: When the Simpsons first see Artie Ziff in the attic, as he stands up, there's a theremin behind him (corresponding with Homer's comment that the "ghost" was playing his theremin). Artie puts a sign up above it. However, when Artie moves to the rafters, the sign he put up is still there, but the theremin isn't.

The younger Frink figures out that kicking the elder Frink in the crotch will stop him. When he does, and the elder Frink falls off the stage, he is wearing the Nobel Prize, not the younger.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode when Homer is looking for another message from his mom to find out if she's really alive, Marge and the kids enter the kitchen, Marge says that it's 2 in the morning. But the clock on the wall shows that it's 9 pm.

Continuity mistake: In the shower scene, we see that in front of Carl, there is a man with brown hair and a moustache in front of him, but then when the shot changes, the man has moved cubicles and a man with white hair has taken his place, and he wasn't even in the previous shot.
Continuity mistake: Right at the beginning of the episode when all the children are on the bus we can see that in front of Nelson is Bart and behind him are Lewis, Martin and Wendall. Then when the shot changes to behind Nelson, Lewis has swapped places with Bart, Bart has disappeared and some weird kid is sitting where Lewis was.
Continuity mistake: At the Randall Curtis's Ranch we see Randall Curtis ride off on a Ton-Ton to go to the video store but in a scene only a few minutes later we see Marge and Homer drunk, tossing him around. Unless the video store is on the ranch or very close by this doesn't seem possible for someone so determined to rent movies.

Continuity mistake: When Homer realises that the bear was only agressive because of the electrical tag, they share a bear hug. The back of Homer's shirt is torn to tatters, and his back is bleeding. Immediately thereafter, the back of Homer's shirt is completely intact.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode Lisa gets on the school bus and in the back of the bus there is an emergency door with a small window in it. The following shot she starts singing out the back of the bus but the window has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: Milhouse is holding the Monopoly set in the Simpsons house. Then when his Dad comes in he isn't. Granted he could have put it down, but it isn't anywhere we can see, so he would have had to put it down behind the sofa which is somewhat unlikely.
