Revealing mistake: After Homer brings Santa's Little Helper home, Homer and Marge hug, and if you look behind them, the background is upside down. There is a picture hanging upside down, and there is a lamp which seems to be hanging from the ceiling. Then in the next shot, the background is normal. (00:21:40)Hamster
Revealing mistake: When Marge is speaking on the phone to her sisters, her sisters say something that sounds like they said that Homer is ugly. Marge then puts down the phone wire that she was curling round her finger. It is easier to see this when you are using DVD, because then you can go into slow-motion, but you can temporarily see that the phone wire disappears when Marge puts it down. It is at the very end of an early scene, because as soon as this happens it changes to another scene. (00:04:40)
Revealing mistake: At the dinner table Homer says something like "as you know it's always been my lifelong ambition to be a blackjack dealer." During this line, for some reason they appear to have used a clip from an older episode (Season 3 / Episode 3 - When Flanders Failed) and dubbed the line over. For one thing, the animation is of a much lower standard than the rest of the episode. And perhaps even more telling, when he says it, he is holding a fork with some food on it, but from the earlier shots we know there is no food in front of him.David Mercier
Revealing mistake: At the car convention, Homer chides Bart through the windscreen of Bonnie and Clyde's car. However, Homer's body is not seen through the holes in the windshield, which shows that the holes in the windshield were achieved via a layer of red-coloured holes. (00:04:25)
Revealing mistake: After the buzzer goes on the final game and the crowd reacts one of the crowd members says "Tie Game.", then some woman in a red top says "What the Hell.". If you look at the woman when she moves her head you can see the nose on her face disappears. (00:19:55)Lummie
Revealing mistake: When Lisa is explaining to the curator of the museum why she didn't tell the crowd of what she learned about Jebediah Springfield, if you look in the background none of the people on the far sidewalk are moving, almost frozen in place with some of them with their arms in the air yet everyone and everything in the parade keeps moving right along.Tobin OReilly
Revealing mistake: When Homer is imagining being locked in the jail cell and he turns around to find he is in his own home, he turns to look at his family. There is a close up shot of his terrified face, and the people in the background watching the game (I think it might be Lenny and Carl) have no eyes. The rest of their face is fine, but their eyes are missing.
Revealing mistake: When Marge is being questioned, before she says 'If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all', there is a shot over her shoulder looking at the blue haired lawyer. Not only is he (the lawyer) there directly in front of her, but he is also sitting on the bench with Burns. In all other shots his chair is empty as it should be.
Revealing mistake: As Homer is signing Bart's academic alert form just before Marge starts talking to Lisa you can read the writing below the "Academic Alert" title, but the writing is completely incoherent including sentences such as "IMAEGTSIAD TSNHOJI NAMREB". Update; some of the "words" or parts of them are people's names, such as David and Allison, but backwards. (00:03:50)Lummie
Revealing mistake: By the end, when fortune teller lays "The Fiance" card on the table, it instantly makes the same angle as other cards lying there, even though the teller's hand is still under it. It doesn't change the angle when she removes her hand from under it, as though it's floating in the mid-air all the time.
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Marge's coat pocket bursts open, the candy flows onto the floor. However if you look to the right of her some of the candy seems to almost float above the floor. The candy's direction is completely to the right but because of the floor being angled it spreads over one woman who is standing and there is nothing there to support the candy. (00:04:30)Lummie
Revealing mistake: After Lisa says "For a product that's evil and deadly" while standing in front of the tomacco stand, there's a duplicate Lisa behind her that stands still while she moves, giving Lisa the appearance of having two heads. It looks like the animators made a mistake while trying to animate Lisa.Nikolai
Revealing mistake: At court, as Homer is walking towards Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger and Ron Howard, Bart is in the background sitting with the rest of the Simpsons, but his head is missing from his body. His head then reappears back on his body after about 2 seconds.Nikolai
Revealing mistake: In the scene where the family is in the car, driving home from the town hall meeting, Homer says "the whole reason we have elected officials is so we don't have to think all the time!" When he says "don't" a second collar appears beneath the right collar of his shirt, and then disappears after he says "time." (00:11:20)
Revealing mistake: When Bart makes a copy of his photo for Lewis, footage of Milhouse inserting a coin into the copy machine is used. You can see Milhouse's pink shirt sleeve instead of Bart's orange shirt sleeve. This same shot is again reused a third time seconds later. (00:09:55)Nikolai
Revealing mistake: The shot of Homer saying "Marge, when kids say bad these days, they mean good. And to shake your booty means to wiggle one's butt" is recycled from the opening scene from Life on the Fast Lane. Notice the animation is of a much lower standard than the rest of the episode.
Revealing mistake: When Homer takes out the dollar bill from his back pocket right before he puts it into the vending machine, the left side of the screen is cut off a little. You can tell especially with how the trash bin in the bottom left has a splotchy white line next to it.
