No Children, No Pets - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: After Jack brings the puppy over to the girls, the box he brought the puppy in was placed on the back end of their couch. At one point, it is knocked over, and you can see it falling down to the floor (past Janet). In a few shots, it's back on the table, and none of the characters were in a position to pick it up to place it back there.

And Now Here's Jack - S6-E23

Continuity mistake: This is such an obvious mistake. In the scene where Jack, Janet and Terri are on the air for the cooking show, Janet holds up the silver bowl but there is no parsley in it. Then in the next shot the bowl is full of parsley. How is it possible that it got filled up in a matter of two seconds.

Handcuffed - S4-E18

Plot hole: Chrissy's policeman cousin informs the roommates that there was a complaint from a neighbor about her husband on his roof watching the girls dance in the apartment with binoculars. However, when the girls were dancing, the front door was fully closed and the very thick drapes were fully closed so how could such a complaint exist?

Revealing mistake: In the episode "Out on a Limb", Jack leaves Terri in Mr. Townsend's office lobby to keep the secretary busy while Jack is supposed to climb a tree outside up to the window and move from window-to-window to get to Townsend's office. If you look at the window behind Terri and the secretary, you'll see Jack magically walk through the brick wall to get set up for the tree climbing scene.

Navy Blues - S7-E21

Other mistake: Jack goes into the kitchen with Janet to get "Jim Bob" Furley a glass of brandy. When Jack returns from the kitchen to hand Furley his drink, Jack trips and spills the drink all over Furley, causing Furley to give the Partnership to Jack's Navy pal, Bill. Furley then excuses himself and heads to the bathroom to clean up. But Furley isn't supposed to have met Jack before, so he wouldn't know where the bathroom is. He goes right to it anyway without asking where it is. Lucky Bill didn't notice.

Cousin Cuisine - S7-E7

Character mistake: Maria (Felipe's cousin) supposedly didn't understand any English (only single words like "yes") and would answer (in Spanish) "Que?" after a full sentence of English was spoken to her. However, in front of Jack, one of the girls said to Maria "Tell Jack the new English word you just learned" and Maria understandingly responded "No." There's no way that Maria could respond correctly to that question since she didn't understand any other English sentences throughout the episode.

Lee Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - S4-E21

Character mistake: Jack's older brother Lee comes for a visit. In the second season when Jack's uncle visits, both make note of Jack being his only nephew. Lee would be his other nephew.

The Not-So-Great Imposter - S5-E9

Revealing mistake: In Angelino's kitchen, when Mr. Angelino comes in and mentions steaks for eight people are needed, look behind him at the door's window. Janet is briefly seen watching (as if waiting for her cue to enter), then quickly ducks out of sight. A second later, she's seen again while Angelino asks Felipe to help him in the freezer. She then runs in the door with Furley as if they first arrived at that moment.

Night of the Ropers - S5-E18

Character mistake: Jack tells Mr. Roper (while at the Regal Beagle) that the women in the Beagle are "fantastic." Roper gives Jack a strange look (about his acting straight instead of gay, which he always thought Jack was). Jack then corrects his sentence (using gay personality and gestures). Roper is no longer the landlord of Jack's building so Jack didn't need to correct himself in front of him or care if Roper still thought he was gay.

Suggested correction: Just because Roper isn't the landlord any more, he would still keep up the lie, even if he thought he wouldn't get in trouble. Jack simply felt it was easier to keep pretending to be gay to avoid telling the truth (in fact several of the antics in the show would have been avoid if Jack just told the truth after some mix up or confusion, but it was his nature to keep up the lies). Even so, Jack may still feel he could get in trouble somehow if he told the truth.

And Baby Makes Four - S5-E17

Plot hole: To avoid conversing with Cindy about Cindy's alleged pregnancy, Janet picks up an ashtray off the table and claims it's filthy and runs with it into the kitchen. None of the roommates were known to have smoked and no ashtray was seen (in the apartment) in any other episode. What was the point of an ashtray all of a sudden?

Suggested correction: While it might not have been seen previously, it doesn't mean they didn't have one. At that time many non-smokers had ashtrays in their homes (my grandparents did and often used it to hold change or keys). However, they may have had an occasion to have it out for something that we never saw, since we don't see every moment of their lives.

Double Trouble - S5-E19

Continuity mistake: When Furley enters the apartment at the start of the party, the outside weather is crystal clear. Less than 2 minutes later, Furley tells "Austin" the fog is very heavy and the airport is closed down. Then upon opening the front door, tons of thick fog is all over outside. While fog can roll in very quickly, how could Furley even bring up the fog in the first place when it was not there at all when he walked in?

The Crush - S3-E10

Plot hole: Janet and Chrissy accuse Jack of making the fake BBQ telegram. However, Jack was at the apartment the whole time, never left once until after he found out Lori was the one who made the telegram. If it was Jack who made the fake telegram, he would have had to leave the apartment to do that.

The Money Machine - S8-E3

Grandma Jack - S8-E7

Other mistake: Larry entered Jack as "Grandma Tripper" to win the contest since the contest was only open to women. However, since Larry admits he didn't know there would be a bake-off and thought a winning check would just be mailed, then there's no reason to of entered Jack as "Grandma." He easily could have just entered Janet or Terri using Jack's recipe.

Diamond Jack - S7-E3

Revealing mistake: As Terri exits Jack's bedroom to stall the diamond thieves, you can momentarily see into the girls' bedroom. The wall that should be between the girls' bedroom and Jack's bedroom is missing and the floor and blue curtains of Jack's bedroom set are visible. Someone's arm wearing a light colored shirt (John Ritter's sleeve is brown and Joyce DeWitt's sleeve is black) can also be seen moving.

A Man About the House - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Jack is introduced to Mr. Roper for the first time, the girls just say he's their landlord (no name given yet), however after Jack's talk in the kitchen with Chrissy (in which still no landlord name given), Jack storms out and starts out shouting "Look here Mr. Roper..." He still should not have known the landlord's name at this point.

Add time

Boy Meets Dummy - S6-E9

Factual error: In this episode, Jack asks Felipe how he can bring Mr. Angelino to the apartment, in which he answers "We took the Santa Monica freeway to the Cloverfield exit." The Cloverfield exit is in reality, a good 2 miles or so from the beach (2 other exits are much closer to beach than this). Yet throughout the series, it is implied that the apartment is very close to the beach (3 blocks is stated by Jack in a much earlier episode). Why a far exit for a beach-area apartment?

Show generally

Continuity mistake: The kitchen changes from episode to episode, when viewed from the living room. If the set is going to be used the full kitchen is visible when viewed. But if it is not being used, often the set is pushed closer together. This is most evident when an actor is coming out of the kitchen the stove and the attached cupboards are practically at the door, providing just a bit of space for the actor to stand before making their entrance. Other times a wall is simply pushed up beside the door with the kitchen wall paper on it to appear to have continuity. This is only seen when the shot allows the kitchen set to be obscured.
