Continuity mistake: The timeline in the episode is inconsistent. Right after the first courtroom scene, we see the three sisters at home, and Phoebe says that "Cole was an angel in that courtroom yesterday." Later, Cole says that he regrets the criminal being let go, "today." But they are talking about the same events.
Revealing mistake: When Phoebe throws the potion at Cole's coat, the vial doesn't shatter, even though it sounds like it. Watch closely, and you'll see the purple, unbroken vial bounce off the coat and away out of shot without any of the potion touching the coat.
Continuity mistake: When Prue talks to Piper after stopping her phone conversation, she tells her that "the Sin Balls work a lot faster than [they] thought. Once infected, the victim only has a few hours before it drives them to total self-destruction." However, this is almost verbatim what was written in the Book of Shadows. It could be easily read by the viewing audience when the book entry was shown. So all three sisters should already know this.
Other mistake: At the beginning of this episode, Tara and Kierken are arguing and Kierken says that he could always "suck you into your little mixing bottle and start again." Then Tara says that "she has a better idea," and then she stabs herself. The life essence automatically flows out of her but the knife was still in her body. Later, the possessed business man stabs himself in front of Piper and she kneels down to see if he was okay and the essence flew into her, without the knife being removed from his body. At the end, when Leo comes down after Prue stabs the possessed Piper, he kneels over her, but the essence does not flow into him. It only flows into him after he takes the knife out of her body.
Revealing mistake: When Prue talks about her relationship with Justin near the beginning of the episode, she says that she finds him to be very predictable, lacking in mystery or "savoir-faire." That doesn't make sense, though, as "savoir-faire" means "know-how." She probably meant "je ne sais quoi," that is, "I know not what."
Continuity mistake: When the girls are saying goodbye to their father, Phoebe hugs him around the neck, then lowers her arms while they talk. When her father says "About anything," her left arm jumps back up to being around his neck, and in the next shot, it's down at the side again.
Other mistake: At the start of the episode when Prue and Phoebe are walking down the street (just before they find the box), the person with the green jacket on (in the background) reaches into the homeless man's hat and just "scrapes" the bottom of it. Not putting any money in, or taking any money out - a completely pointless action.
Factual error: When developing a photo it's first put into a developer chemical, which shows the picture up, then a stop, which stops it from developing anymore, then a fix which "sets" the photo. But in the basement, Prue puts the exposed photo into a tray with chemicals in it where it starts to develop, then into a second tray where it develops fully.
Continuity mistake: When Phoebe and Prue look in the Book of Shadows for the spell to summon Belthazor, it is written with the same artistic calligraphy as the rest of the Book. But this spell was written by the sisters themselves in episode 3-8: "Sleuthing With The Enemy." As a result, it should have a handwritten appearance similar to the pages Phoebe was working on at the beginning of this episode.
Plot hole: One of the sisters asks why the familiar doesn't just jump in front of a bus 5 times, another responds with "we're the only ones strong enough to kill him." If they are the only ones strong enough to kill him, then how come two scenes later he falls on a knife during a fight with Phoebe and dies? If a knife can kill him then it doesn't make sense that he seeks out the charmed ones.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Cole has caught Phoebe's karate kick at school, Phoebe's hands are both clutching her school books. In the following shot, her left arm is in a completely different position, and there's no reason for her to have moved it.
Revealing mistake: The sound of Phoebe writing with a permanent marker was added in, as you can see that the marker never touches the paper. Then after a few seconds Phoebe stops writing to listen to Prue and her marker isn't moving but the sound of writing can be heard.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Eva is teaching the sisters about ways to draw power on All Hallows Eve, she cuts an apple in half and puts a leaf over the seeds in the center. The leaf goes from small and only covering the center to bigger and covering more of the apple.
Other mistake: During a flash back of Grams in the kitchen she puts a rose in a pot, then Piper walks in, they talk and Piper starts to add some salt and a couple other ingredients into the pot. Grams asks how she knows what to add, Piper says says something about mustard - Piper wouldn't know what's in it already, she just walked in. And she never even finds it strange that there's a rose with a stem in it.
Continuity mistake: The only way any of the charmed ones can see the fairies is with the fairy dust, but in several other later seasons and episodes when the charmed ones need the magical community's help they can see the fairies without any help from fairy dust or a spell.
Continuity mistake: Kit the cat shows up in Something Wicca this Way Comes (Episode 1,1), as the girls' familiar once they have received their powers. It is obvious that the cat just showed up by comments made by the girls, along the lines of "where did this cat come from" (not literally). However, in Pre-Witched (Episode 3,17), they make the same kinds of comments about Kit just showing up in this episode, which is suppose to have happened 6 months before Episode 1,1.
Continuity mistake: When Phoebe is looking in the Book of Shadows for information about Eames, she comes across the Belthazor page, and lays the page down flat. In the following shots, the page moves to her hand, then lying down flat, then to her hand again.
