Continuity mistake: While Niles is confronting Dr. Shenkman we can see a rose petal on the smooth bedspread behind them. Another shot shows the petal is gone and the bedcover is dishevelled.
Continuity mistake: When Bulldog wheels his things into the booth, there is nothing on top of the tape deck behind and to our left of Frasier's chair. As the shot changes and he says "you can vouch for that, Myrna", there is suddenly a blue cassette on top of the deck. The shot changes again and Roz puts her plate of cookies down on top of the tape deck - the cassette has disappeared.
Desperately Seeking Closure - S5-E8
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the show, Samantha and Frasier are in the restaurant; Sam picks up her water glass to take a sip, the next shot shows the glass still on the table.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, Frasier gives Roz an evening purse in a box. She puts it back in the box and as they talk we can see the edge of the box - from one shot to the next we can sometimes see the strap hanging out and sometimes not. The camera angle does not change.
Frasier's Imaginary Friend - S5-E1
Continuity mistake: When Marty does his exercises, Eddie watches from the recliner and his bottom is just about in the center of the seat, but as Daphne heads to the door, his posterior is much closer to the arm of the chair, even though he never moved.
Where Every Bloke Knows Your Name - S5-E10
Continuity mistake: When Marty, Roz, and Marty's friends start playing poker, one card is dealt out, but a couple of seconds later, the card in front of each person is gone, and the "first" card is dealt again.
Continuity mistake: At the very end of the show, when Frasier, Niles and Martin are on the balcony, all three have their hands and arms folded in front of them, leaning on the railing. The shot then goes to behind them, and Frasier is standing with his arms straight out, and only his hands on the railing.
Continuity mistake: When Marty bangs open the crane's cage, he is about a foot away from where he had been in the previous shot, when the crane pecked him on the rear end. To achieve the latter he had to be fairly close to the bird, but to accidentally open the cage easily by pushing at it with his cane, he had to be standing farther away, or it wouldn't have worked. He moves that distance from shot to shot and it just wouldn't have happened in real time.
Continuity mistake: At the start of the show, Frasier is looking at a brochure and he puts a hand on his knee as he says "Gore Vidal.", the next shot shows both hands on the brochure as he says ".he hates everything."
Continuity mistake: At the end of the show Frasier, Niles and their dad are having drinks and Niles goes to top off Marty's shot glass - but just as he pours the drink, Martin pulls it away. In real life the drink would have ended up on the floor, but the scene continues as Niles keeps pouring into the glass.
The Kid (2) - S5-E4
Continuity mistake: Roz and Frasier are in his kitchen talking and Roz has a bottle of water. In one shot we see the bottle cap on the counter, but in the next shot it has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: While Frasier, Roz, and Marty are at the table on the ship, Frasier is trying to write his speech. His pen switches from being in his hand to being on the table, several times, from shot to shot.

Continuity mistake: Near the start of the show, Daphne is helping Marty with his exercises and as she goes to answer the door, the towel on his little table changes position noticeably.
Where Every Bloke Knows Your Name - S5-E10
Continuity mistake: When Marty's poker buddies are reminiscing about parenthood, the pile of poker chips in front of Roz change from shot to shot.
Continuity mistake: During the opening credits, Bebe and Roz are in Cafe Nervosa and Bebe is explaining a radio idea she has. As she says "all of Seattle will share", Roz is picking at her muffin, but in the next shot Roz has her hands on her stomach.
Continuity mistake: Marty and Sherry are looking at old photos to use at Marty's birthday party - we can see one in Sherry's hand that has noticeable brown marks down the back, as though it had been glued in an album. The next shot shows Marty passing this one to her, even though in the shot before it was in her hand. When Sherry passes the picture over to Niles and Frasier, in the shot when they get it, it's not the same photo, as it is clean on the back.
Continuity mistake: Frasier is serving tea to Niles in the first scene and sometimes the tray is sitting straight on the corner and sometimes it is askew. The teapot changes position on the tray as well.
Continuity mistake: Clint, Frasier, and Roz are in Cafe Nervosa and Clint is holding is coffee cup and speaking French. In the next shot the coffee is on the table and his hands are on his knee.
Continuity mistake: When Frasier, Marty, and Niles are having drinks at the end of the show, Frasier says "I think we have a 3-way tie" and we see Marty holding his drink in his left hand - the shot then switches and it's suddenly in his right hand, with no time for a natural change.
First Date - S5-E20
Continuity mistake: While they are in the living room, Niles is telling Frasier about Phyllis, and he has his bottle of water in his left hand but as the shot changes and Frasier says "Oh, good lord", the bottle switches to Niles' right hand.
Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
