Angel

Soulless - S4-E11

Corrected entry: Throughout the episode, we see Angelus show up on a security camera in the basement. But it is a well known fact that vampires do not show up on security cameras. It's been established several times in the show.

THGhost

Correction: It's been well established in the Angel series (same as the Buffy series) that vampires DO appear on cameras (and photographs) since cameras work similar to the way the human eye works. Electronic security systems don't pick up vampires, since they don't have body heat, but surveillance cameras are not the same as a security system.

Bishop73

Peace Out - S4-E21

Corrected entry: When Angel reveals to everyone what Jasmine really is, he shows up on a news camera. Since Angel is a vampire, this should not happen.

THGhost

Correction: Vampires show up on camera and in photographs in the Buffyverse, for example in the episode "Storyteller" where Andrew conducts an on-camera interview with Spike.

The Cautionary Tale Of Numero Cinco - S5-E6

Corrected entry: When Angel is outside looking for Number 5, he is stabbed in the stomach by a demon. The next scene is when Angel returns to Wolfram & Hart right after this happens and he is still wearing the same clothes. He mentions he is still in pain and yet there are no rips or tears in his shirt and no blood stains.

Correction: It's two different colors. When Angel is outside looking for Number 5 and gets stabbed by the demon, it's a blue shirt. When you see him in the next scene coming into the office, it's a different color shirt. That's why there's no rips or blood on it - he changed.

Show generally

Corrected entry: Throughout the series of Angel, they have episodes with scenes of his past where he is cleaned up and acting like he does in present day. For example in season 2 episode 2 "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been" he seems like normal Angel only in the past. Same situation with season 5 episode 13 "Why We Fight". But on an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 2 episode number 21 "Becoming part 1" there is a flashback of Angel in 1996, way after those episodes of Angel and he is a complete mess living off of rats and we are led to believe he has been this way ever since he got his soul back. So he couldn't have been as sane and well kept and living off human medical blood as he was depicted in those Angel episodes.

mandakhristine

Correction: Actually the writers/producers of episodes like this have often said that they wrote in back stories like the ones mentioned specifically because they didn't believe that Angel had been a complete mess ever since being cursed. The various ways he is seen living in the time since show his struggles with trying to work out where he fits into human society. Also, he's hardly acting like he is in the present day in Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been when he allows the paranoia demon to eat everyone in the hotel.

Smile Time - S5-E14

Corrected entry: When Fred, Wesley, Gunn and Angel plan to go to the studio where "Smile Time" is filmed and they are about to leave, Puppet Angel takes a sword down from the wall behind his desk. Fred opens the door and Puppet Angel is still behind his desk. However, as they walk down the hall when the dramatic music begins to play, Puppet Angel is suddenly in front of the group. There wasn't enough time for Angel to get in front of them when Fred opens the door.

Correction: When they leave the office it is a new scene, there's no indication of how much time has passed so it's perfectly plausible that Angel is now in front.

Epiphany - S2-E16

Corrected entry: Near the end of this episode, Kate says that she 'has faith' in 'something' because she never invited Angel in to her apartment, yet he came in & revived her after her 'pill-a-thon'. Why did no one state the obvious explanation that she had died for a second, in which case Angel would be able to enter the apartment without an intervention from any 'power'?

cheryldymond

Correction: That'd be like telling a child who believes their dog has run away that it was in fact hit by a car and suffered for hours before finally dying. She's expressing very strong positive emotions, they're not going to crush those.

Phixius

Just Rewards (2) - S5-E2

Corrected entry: In this episode, you can see that Spike is sitting in the Viper and touching the steering wheel. He shouldn't be able to sit or touch the car, because in later episodes, Spike says that he has to concentrate to be able to touch something.

daffie

Correction: Spike does not need to concentrate all the time. If that was true he would not be able to stay in angels office, he would fall through the floor. Sub conciously he knows he could sit and hold onto the wheel of the car.

Lonely Hearts - S1-E2

Corrected entry: Kate uses her real first name while she is working undercover to catch whomever is killing people from the nightclub. According to a friend in law enforcement who checked her facts with officers from two different agencies, this would never be allowed.

Correction: Well, Kate is a pretty common first name, so as long as she wasn't using her real last name, nobody would know that she is a cop.

The House Always Wins - S4-E3

Corrected entry: The Tropicana's "future stealing" scam seems to depend on Lorne's abilities too much to be as elaborate as depicted. The operation and black market in futures would have to have been in place well before he got there, so how were they doing it before Lorne showed up? Randomly taking destinies from people in the casino and just HOPING they were worthwhile? If so, what would they do with the people whose destinies they'd stolen? Let them play the slots until they die and then somehow dispose of the bodies or turn them loose in the streets of Vegas and draw the mortal world's attention to themselves?

Correction: Just because we don't know the way the casinos plan worked before Lorne turned up doesn't mean it couldn't have worked. For all we know they could have been using another demon or any number of techniques. A little imagination is all that's called for.

Five By Five - S1-E18

Corrected entry: Angel finds Faith by tracking her to the apartment of the man whose wallet and keys she had stolen. The problem is that it seems unbelievable that the police wouldn't have used this method to track down Faith themselves. There is no sign of the police until after the disturbance of Angel and Faith fighting gets them interested.

pinkwafer

Correction: Faith stole the guys wallet which probably had his ID, and she assaulted him. It is likely that he was unconcious when the police went to question him.

A Hole in the World - S5-E15

Corrected entry: In "A Hole in the World," while Fred is laying in the infirmary she calls Angel "a big, handsome man who saves me from the monsters". Those are the exact same words that she called Angel when he saved her in Pylea in season 2.

Maria Santos

Correction: This isn't trivia - Fred knows (or at least strongly suspects) that she's dying and is making joke for the rest of the group about the similarities of both situations. Angel smiles fondly at her and says 'Yeah, thats the way it works'.

City Of - S1-E1

Corrected entry: In a scene toward the end of the episode, when Angel is walking to Cordelia's house, he is walking in the sunlight. Vampires can't be in the sun.

Correction: It's twilight, the sun hasn't fully risen yet and isn't a threat.

Cybermoose

In The Dark - S1-E3

Corrected entry: Marcus and Angel have a fairly full on battle under the pier, starting with them both jumping off the end of the pier, and ending with Marcus dusted. How is it that they didn't attract any attention from the people on the pier, or the kids who we afterwards see on the beach right next to where they were fighting?

pinkwafer

Correction: Maybe it was the classic denial coming into play in LA; people pretending nothing's happening because that's easier to take than what really is happening. Also, a lot of the fight took place out of sight, so maybe the people lost interest when they couldn't see what was going on anymore.

Season 3 generally

Corrected entry: When Angel and Connor are fighting the vampire in the nightclub, in a long shot, Angel punches a vampire on his right. However, if you play it in slow-mo, Angel's hand doesn't even touch the actor.

Correction: Something spotted in slow motion and isn't visable in normal speed isn't a mistake.

Cybermoose

Lineage - S5-E7

Corrected entry: Angel says at the end that the cyborg version of Wesley's father probably learned all he knew from the files at the Watcher's Council, but in the Buffy episode "Bring On The Night" Giles makes it clear that all the files belonging to the Council were destroyed in the explosion, so where did the cyborgs find out every detail of Wesley's life (back to age 7)? Wesley only started working at Wolfram and Hart a few months after "Bring On The Night", so they wouldn't have known to gather information on him before the Council was blown up, and we know they didn't get it from his real family as, when Wesley talks to them at the end of the episode, it's clear they have no idea what's happened.

Shay

Correction: Not all the files belonging to the Watchers Council were destroyed though. Rutherford Circe took a number of them with him when he defected to Wolfram & Hart, so other White Hats could have leaked information to the enemy as well.

A New World - S3-E20

Corrected entry: At the end of the last episode, Conner Killed a demon the second he arrived, and it fell to the ground. In this episode which picks up EXACTLY where the last one left off, there's no sign of the thing.

Correction: We know that certain demons combust after being killed (EG. Vampires turn to dust). Obviously this is one of them.

Players - S4-E16

Corrected entry: In the episode 'Players', season 4, Gwen is struck by lightning and we later see the envelope she was holding is badly scorched. The papers that were inside, however, don't have a mark on them.

Shay

Correction: If you keep watching the episode when Gwen is pulling out the map of the house and showing it to Gunn, you can easily see several burn marks on the map; which was inside the envelope when she got struck by lightning.

The Trial - S2-E9

Corrected entry: In "The Trial" Angel tells Darla that, if he turns her, his soul might transfer onto her - he doesn't know for sure. However, in a later episode ("Why We Fight", season 5) we see him turning Lawson in 1943, after he got his soul. While the soul made Lawson less evil, he was still filled with the bloodlust of a normal vampire, without Angel's conscience. Therefore, Angel already knew that his soul wouldn't transfer enough to stop Darla becoming a monster.

Shay

Correction: Angel lets Lawson go from the sub, telling him that if they ever meet again, he'd kill him. He reminds him of this when Lawson steps into the offices of Wolfram & Hart 50 years later, som presumably they haven't met since then. Angel wouödn't have know much about Lawson behaviour during the short time he was a vampire on the sub. He didn't kill anyone, nor did he try to.

A Hole in the World - S5-E15

Corrected entry: Angel, Spike, and Lorne track Eve down to Lindsey's apartment and come in to question her. Who invited Angel and Spike? (It's not public accommodations, because we find out earlier in the show that Lindsey's signed a lease.).

Correction: Lindsey signed a lease for the apartment Spike was living in. He was also no longer in that dimension, therefore, not considered alive. Also due to all the markings to mask the apartment would mean no one lived there.

Maria Santos

Spin The Bottle - S4-E6

Corrected entry: Angel's crew (except Lorne and Conner) revert back to thinking that they're 16 years old following Lorne's spell. Cordelia however already knew Angel when she was 16, yet she acts as if she doesn't know him already. (See Season 1 of Buffy).

Correction: Cordelia met Angel during the spring of her sophomore year, but we have no idea when her 16th birthday was. If they reverted to shortly after that birthday and her birthday was sometime in the fall or early winter, she wouldn't have known him yet.

Phoenix

Redefinition - S2-E11

Corrected entry: Joss Whedon's Laws for killing a vampire have been broken or ignored in this episode. The 3 ways to kill a vampire in the show are either: stake to the heart, burning the vampire, or decapitation. However, Angel manages to burn Drusilla and Darla from head to toe, yet neither of them die. In previous episode some vampires were killed by just a little bit of fire.

Correction: Darla and Dru are two exceedingly powerful vampires, and while it seems like they're on fire for a long time because of the slow-motion, the reality is that they were only alight for a few seconds before being doused with water. The only time we've seen vampires burn up faster than this is in direct sunlight, which affects vampires differently than ordinary fire.

Shay

Peace Out - S4-E21

Corrected entry: No one ever mentions to Angel that Jasmine eats people, nor does he learn of any hints that leads towards her eating people. Yet somehow when e confronts Jasmine on the bridge, he somehow already knows this detail.

Correction: Angel was around Jasmine for long enough to know that she takes people into her room and they apparently vanish - once released from her spell, it's not difficult to realise what's almost certainly happening to them, particularly as the priest in the other dimension refers to her as "the Blessed Devourer".

Tailkinker

Hell Bound - S5-E4

Corrected entry: In the scene where Spike takes the elevator down to the basement, he is walking down the spooky corridor. If he is suppose to be non-corporeal, his shoes shouldn't make any sound as he walks but you can hear his footsteps.

Correction: The rules governing Spike's entire existence can be changed on whim by Pavayne - since he's trying to spook Spike by making him walk down the creepy, badly lit corridor, echoing footsteps seems to be the next logical step.

In The Dark - S1-E3

Corrected entry: How do Angel and the gang know that Marcus has the gem? Spike didn't realise until after they had all left the warehouse, and none of them saw Marcus take the ring.

pinkwafer

Correction: Doyle throws the ring across the room behind Spike's back, so even if Spike didn't see Marcus taking the ring, Cordelia and Doyle (looking over his shoulder) could well have seen it happening. Just because they don't show it to the audience doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Shay

A New World - S3-E20

Corrected entry: Connor's stake cannon has 3 barrels, all of which are assumed to be loaded, when he arrives. During the episode teaser, he fires one stake from each of the three barrels. After the credits, he fires two more stakes from the top barrel and one from the right. Of course, he hasn't stopped to reload and it's obvious that there is no room in the simple device for more than a single projectile and the launching mechanism.

xx:xx:xx

Phoenix

Correction: The shot is off Connor for a long time after he fires the first stake (as it follows the stake across the room and shows Groo and Gunn starting to charge) and Connor can move at incredibly fast speeds, so it's possible he reloaded the device during that space of time, which would explain why 4 stakes are fired from a device that only holds three.

Shay

City Of - S1-E1

Corrected entry: Angel puts his fingers to Tina's neck wound as if to check for a pulse - however since he was able to enter her apartment without invitation he would have known she was dead. If not checking her pulse, then he was just dipping his fingers in her blood which seems out of character.

pinkwafer

Correction: Angel is inspecting the wound on her neck to try and determine how Tina died. He got blood on his fingers when checking the wound completely by accident.

The House Always Wins - S4-E3

Corrected entry: When Angel, Fred, and Gunn are trying to find where Lorne's performing, they come across his headliner ad at the Tropicana, which states "17th Straight Week." At the end of the last season Lorne was just leaving for Vegas, and the previous episodes have established that Angel and Cordelia have been missing for three months. Assuming Lorne started performing the week he arrived in Vegas, his show should be in its 14th straight week.

Correction: Firstly, three months is probably an approximation - it could be a week or two more than that. Secondly, some time must have passed between Angel's rescue and the trip to Las Vegas - he's had time to fully recover from his ordeal, look for Cordelia (there's the events of the episode "Ground State", for example) and so on. This could easily take at least a couple of weeks, which makes the 17 week notice quite possible.

Tailkinker

Five By Five - S1-E18

Corrected entry: When Faith breaks down and cries at the end of "Five By Five", we see Wesley drop his knife, and it falls in slow-motion to his feet. Thing is, in the long-shot right before the credits the knife is nowhere to be seen.

Shay

Correction: The knife falls to the right side of his right foot. In the long distance shot this side can't be seen, only the left side of the foot. So the foot blocks the sight.

Bjoern_Buller

Shiny Happy People - S4-E18

Corrected entry: In the episodes 'Shiny Happy People' and 'The Magic Bullet', Fred and Angel are infected with Jasmine's blood for a while before her spell breaks; they only snap out of it when they look at her and see her true face. Gunn, Wesley and Lorne, however, only have to be touched with the blood and they snap out of it immediately without seeing her face.

Shay

Correction: Gunn, Wesley, and Lorne are exposed to Cordelia's blood, not Jasmine's. Cordelia's maternal link to Jasmine causes her blood to work differently and faster on Jasmine's enchantment because all of Jasmine's blood came from Cordelia during the pregnancy.

Phoenix

A Hole in the World - S5-E15

Corrected entry: In the episode "A Hole in the World" there's a connection between the Angel and Spike argument about who would win in a fight between cavemen vs. astronauts and Fred becoming Illyria. Like Illyria the cavemen are old and powerful while Fred is a scientist like astronauts. A little before she dies Fred says of course the caveman would win. She then dies and is taken over by Illyria.

Maria Santos

Correction: Consider that Fred actually did live as a "cavewoman" for years in a demon dimension, and it isn't clear when the series ends that Illyria actually did win, what with Fred's memories and personality starting to reappear.

Carl Fink

Show generally

Corrected entry: In 'Orpheus', Willow mentions that the restoration of the soul was the first spell she did. Back in season 2 of BTVS, however, she did several spells before that, for example revoking Angel's invitations in 'Passion' or her attempted exorcism in 'I Only Have Eyes For You'.

Shay

Correction: Williow actually states that re-ensouling Angel is one of the first spells she learned, not the first spell she did.

Maria Santos

Offspring - S3-E7

Corrected entry: In a flashback to Rome, Holtz appears wearing sunglasses - surely they didn't have them in the 18th century

xx:xx:xx

Correction: Actually, the first sunglasses were invented in 1752 by James Ayscough.

Lonely Hearts - S1-E2

Corrected entry: Angel decides to talk to Kate about the demon and calls the Los Angeles Police Department for her. At this point in the series, he hasn't been told her last name, and Kate could be short for Katherine, Karen, or Kathleen; yet despite the fact that the LAPD employs thousands of officers, several of whom must have one of those first names, he is put through to the right Kate. He can't have read her name off her badge from across the room in the 4 seconds she had it out either, because vampires in the Buffy Universe can see well in the dark, however, they don't have telescopic vision.

xx:xx:xx

Correction: Angel could have described her to the person on the other end of the phone & got through that way.

Ground State - S4-E2

Corrected entry: In the episode Ground State in Season 4, Angel tells Gwen when they're in the elevator that he doesn't breathe but at the same time he is panting.

Correction: Vampires don't need to breath to live but their body still functions as it normally would when living. Breathing is what naturally happens when one is moving alot and they can also pass out from lack of air but cannot die because of it.

Conviction (1) - S5-E1

Corrected entry: Considering that Spike never visited Sunnydale or L.A. during Wesley's tenure in either place, and Wesley was in England before that, how does Wesley recognise him straight away? Even if he's heard about him from Angel or in books why would he assume that this is him? Some people suggest Wesley found a picture of Spike while researching Angel's past, but Giles conducted a similar investigation in season 1 but had never even heard of Spike in 'School Hard', let alone know his image well enough to recognise him on sight. Unless Wesley is a substantially better researcher (unlikely, given Giles' experience) he shouldn't know him so well.

Shay

Correction: If Giles has already researched Spike then he most likely kept most of the things to do with him in the same place. In season three Wesley comes along & has access to Giles' material so if he took the time to look into these things he may have found all the information he needed.

Tailkinker

Benediction - S3-E21

Corrected entry: Holtz has Justine kill him by puncturing his neck to make it look as if Angel bit him. When Connor finds them, there is very little blood coming from the wound, which WOULD be the case if Angel had bit him because a vampire DRINKS the blood, so what did Justine do with it all?

xx:xx:xx

Correction: Unless you hit a major artery like the jugular, a puncture wound to the neck will leave some blood but not gobs of it - ask any ER doctor. The ice pick probably hit Holtz's spine severing the nervous system; after all, it's not like Connor's going to do an autopsy.

Five By Five - S1-E18

Corrected entry: In 'Five By Five', during the scene where Angel tries to work out where Wesley is being held hostage we learn that the man Faith beat up at the start is still alive in the hospital and that it's his apartment she's staying in. A couple of scenes later Angel bursts into the apartment to save the day, but how is this possible without an invitation? If the owner is alive, he should be barred from entering, even if the owner isn't actually in the apartment.

xx:xx:xx

Shay

Correction: The apartment's owner dies at the moment Angel finds himself able to enter. Once he's dead, the place is no longer an inhabited residence, and the restriction doesn't apply.

Carl Fink

Home - S4-E22

Corrected entry: In the final episode of season 4, 'Home,' Angel tracks meets is reasoning with Connor in a clothing store. It is noticeable that there are large windows in the shop which are exposing Angel to the deadly mid-afternoon rays. Angel can only walk around in daylight in Wolfram and Hart because of their special windows. So how come he isn't bursting into flames in the clothing store?

Correction: As mentioned in several episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, vampires can get around in INDIRECT sunlight. This is the type of light that was filtering in at the sporting goods store, therefore Angel would be okay.

Show generally

Corrected entry: In the Buffy episode 'The Prom' Angel mentions that he never drinks coffee as the caffeine makes him jittery, yet he drinks coffee in quite a few Angel episodes. It's unlikely a 243-year-old would change his habits in the space of a few months.

Shay

Correction: Perhaps sometime after The Prom, Angel discovers decaf. It's possible, especially for someone so old who didn't seem to "get" Buffy (or women in general) 90% of the time, to not be up to date on coffee. He makes other changes - he takes up smoking in the fifties flashbacks of season two, gives up smoking for the entire time we know him prior to halfway through season two, takes up smoking, and then gives it up...again.

Hell Bound - S5-E4

Corrected entry: When Spike and Angel are talking in Angel's apartment. Spike sits down on Angel's couch. At that time he hadn't realized that he could "will" himself to touch and affect objects around him. Therefore he would have fallen through the couch, much less make the cushions move when he sat.

angelus tumultuor

Correction: Later on in this episode the "Reaper" explains that he has complete control over how Spike interacts with the living world. This explains how he was talking to Fred earlier in the episode and then suddenly fell through the floor. Or when the Reaper made Spike invisible to everyone around him. The Reaper wanted to mess with his mind by constantly changing the rules like this.

Awakening - S4-E10

Corrected entry: In 'Awakening', season 4, Cordy repeatedly mentions that Wesley has never seen Angelus, but Wesley fought Angelus back in season 1, episode 'Eternity', when a drug made Angel change temporarily.

Shay

Correction: In "Eternity" Wesley explains that Angel only thinks he is Angelus because of the drugs the actress slipped him. He describes it as "artificial perfect happiness", Angel never actually turned. This also explains why Angel does not kill the actress (can't remember her name) in the basement. The real Angelus never would have let her go. Also, drugged Angel never killed anyone even outside the office. When the real Angelus is there (Buffy, Season 2 and Angel, Season 4) bodies pile up.

Unleashed - S5-E3

Corrected entry: Nina asks if Angel can cure her of lycanthropy, and he says no. But why can't he? In the fourth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Oz found a way to prevent the transformation through meditation. That information should be available to the characters on this show as well.

DavidK93

Correction: Oz gains a measure of control through meditation, but as the events of that Buffy episode show, he was still prone to "wolfing-out" under certain circumstances. This hardly qualifies as a cure, so Angel was quite correct to tell Nina that he couldn't cure her.

Tailkinker

City Of - S1-E1

Corrected entry: Doyle says that he's not a vampire, because he walked freely into Angel's house. But that rule does not apply to other vampire's houses, since there is no one living who owns the house.

Correction: Just 'cause Doyle's half-demon doesn't mean he knows that vampires don't need to be invited into other vampire's homes.

MoonFaery

Show generally

Corrected entry: In the episode Deep Down in Season 4, Angel keeps panting and gasping for air after being rescued by Wesley from his box in the ocean. This is not possible as Angel does not breathe. If he needed air he'd have suffocated long before.

Correction: From the buffyguide.com FAQ; 'Vampires do not need to breathe air in order to stay alive. However, like food, vampires do breathe and can do things that require breathing, like talking or smoking. If a vampire is deprived of air for enough time, they will pass out from 'suffocation', but there has never been an incidence of a vampire dying from lack of air. Also, when a vampire breathes in air, *something* happens to it that makes it unusable for CPR, which is why Angel could not save Buffy in Prophecy Girl.'

Show generally

Corrected entry: Cordelia says in the episode 'Awakening' that she has encountered the real Angelus when he changed in Sunnydale, but during the episodes after Angelus changed in season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer she never actually saw him, just heard about him.

Shay

Correction: She further clarifies in Awakenings that she saw everything he EVER did (as Angelus) in "virtual wide screen sense surround sound during my tenure in floatyville". She saw firsthand what he was like. Also, on Buffy, Cordelia spoke often of the badness of Angelus. Cordelia did actually meet Angelus in the BTVS season two episode "Killed By Death".

angelus1girl

Life Of The Party - S5-E5

Corrected entry: Given that that everyone in Wolfram and Hart was killed back in season 4's "Long Day's Journey", how is it possible so many people are talking about last year's Halloween party in "Life of the Party"? While one or two may have survived by not coming into work that day, it's unlikely that many people would be working there now for more than a few months.

Shay

Correction: No-one survived by avoiding work - Lilah says in a later episode that the beast tracked down everyone who worked there. However, at the end of series 4, we find out that the LA office has been completely rebuilt and restaffed. It's conceivable that everyone was brought in from another office, or even another dimension, and so all know of the same party.

Cordelia: You want I should distract him? Make with the nice-nice while you slip by?
Angel: Don't be stupid. I'm that guy and the most beautiful woman I've ever seen is making eyes at me? It's either a bachelor party or a scam.
Cordelia: What did you just call me?
Angel: I'm sorry. You're not stupid.
Cordelia: No, after that.

Right after Cordelia has her vision, Wesley goes to the whiteboard. In the "Case" column he writes "N.D.U.O." underneath what looks like "CARYNSS" crossed out. But once they find out that it is a Prio Motu demon and Angel writes it on the whiteboard, "N.D.U.O." disappears even though Angel did not rub it off.
