Other mistake: The tenant board member tells George that Mr. Eldrige in apartment 8C has decided he wants the new apartment. However, the new apartment in question has a 3-digit number - 808 I believe. This indicates that the building would not have single digit numbers and letters (Such as 5E, 8C, etc.) as part of its numbering system.

Plot hole: When Elaine is searching for Jean Paul in the streets, one of her verbal flashbacks is of Jean Paul saying, "I trust Elaine, she is my friend." However, Jean Paul made this remark to Jerry, and Elaine was not there to hear it. How could she have a flashback of it?
Continuity mistake: In the episode "The Suicide", Kramer discusses suicide with Jerry, and says that he'd give someone 72 hours to come out of a coma before all his property is up for grabs. However, in the episode "The Comeback", Kramer tells Jerry that he never knew that people could come out of a coma.

Character mistake: When George and Elaine go to the coffee shop after the movie without Jerry, they establish that Elaine moved to NYC in 1986. Then they make fun of the way that Jerry throws up; both imitating Jerry. The "Dinner Party" episode is after the "The Dog". In the "Dinner Party" episode, Jerry brags that he hasn't thrown up since June 29th, 1980. The black and white cookie ended this streak. Elaine would not have been around to see this, not arriving in NYC until 1986.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, when Jerry is having a massage, his hands are in front of him, under his chin. The position of his fingers change considerably after the masseuse says, "I don't know" but then return to the original position in the next shot.
Continuity mistake: When Jerry's sitting with George in the hospital talking about George's jacket, as Jerry says "no, I tried it on, it fits good", he's gesturing with his left hand, which he then puts in his lap. From the reverse angle though, his left hand's still raised, then he lowers it again.

Continuity mistake: This mistake is in the Calzone episode. Towards the end when George walks in and his boss is looking around for the smell of calzones, George is holding a bag in his hand. In the next shot that shows the back of the boss's head the bag is now on top of a box that George is carrying. When it goes back to a close up the bag is in his hand again.
Factual error: In the scene where Anna is standing with George beside his father's GTO, Elaine suddenly runs in and pries her away from George. Elaine and Anna get into the cab. As the cab pulls away, the side door is marked as an NYC cab with a taxi license number, etc., but the license plate in the back is a California plate.
Factual error: During the entire series, the view of Jerry's door from the hallway is of a flat wall with the door in line, yet from inside the apartment, not only does the kitchen angle into the hallway, but Jerry's fridge is recessed into the wall. The wall behind it should be blocking the hallway completely.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, when Puddy is farewelling Elaine on the street, he is standing on the sidewalk and leaning through the driver's window. The following shot when she pulls out quickly, you can see through the windows of the car that Puddy is nowhere to be seen.
Continuity mistake: After Elaine unwraps her cashmere sweater, Kramer wraps the ribbon around his neck in a scarf-like way and then lies back on the couch. In a long shot of the apartment (as Elaine exits the bathroom), the ribbon is gone, but when it cuts to Kramer and he asks about the red dot (and for the rest of the scene), the ribbon is back.
Factual error: At several points during the case, the prosecutor introduces witnesses by saying "The state calls." Legally, Massachusetts is a Commonwealth, not a state, and that is how it is referred to in court. (See any episode of "Ally McBeal" or "The Practice.") However, even this would be incorrect here, as the episode makes it clear that the "Good Samaritan" law is a local Latham statute, not a Massachusetts law. In this case, "The people call." would be correct.
Continuity mistake: When Kramer spills the tomato juice all over Jerry's walls, he grabs a light colored oven mitt to wipe it off. In one shot he wrings out the sopping mitt over the juice pitcher. When the shot changes and he tosses the mitt back onto the counter, the mitt is still the original color with no hint of red stains.
Continuity mistake: In the episode where Kramer becomes a ball-man, the episode ends with them at a tennis match. It shows a shot of the court, and no one is standing anywhere near the poles of the net. In the next shot, Kramer is crouched down next to the pole, ready to dive for the ball.
Continuity mistake: While Jerry is having his massage, the masseuse walks around the table to reach his right side and we can then see two items of clothing, one blue and one grey, hanging on the clothes stand behind them. During the rest of the scene, we only ever see the grey item hanging there.
Factual error: In the scene where Jerry, George, and Elaine are in the coffee shop and Kramer walks in with the dummy mailman with the bucket over his head, Kramer remarks how nobody entered the post office while he was outside protesting. Jerry remarks, "That is because it is Sunday." If that is true, how can the group be gathered at the coffee shop? There is a red sign by the entrance of the coffee shop showing the business hours, and the coffee shop is supposedly closed on Sunday.
Continuity mistake: Jerry is waiting for George to come into his apartment and he says to Elaine and Kramer, "my oldest friend is dating the governor", and then folds his arms. In the next shot, as George comes in, Jerry is suddenly holding a glass of juice - there was no time for this change to happen naturally.
Plot hole: When George and Jerry are discussing the rye bread scheme, George says Susan is working late that night, so she won't be around when he sneaks the rye into the house. But when George reels the rye in with the fishing pole, Susan is standing there with her parents, wearing her coat. When did she get home? She couldn't have entered through the front door, because Jerry was there tossing the rye up to George. And since it's a New York City brownstone, there's no backdoor that's accessible. There's no logical explanation for her getting into the house to see George reeling in the rye.
Deliberate mistake: When Elaine comes home and doesn't find Sean Paul there, she runs to her neighbour across the apartment. The neighbour opens the door and stands outside it then the door slowly closes behind him. Suddenly, the door opens again with a swoosh without anyone being there. Because the camera switches angle right after this, it is apparent it was opened to gain this shot or to at least permit it continuity wise.
00:16:40 - 00:17:10
Continuity mistake: When George is in the boardroom, he places his briefcase on the conference table, and opens it, with the top leaning against a carafe. As George yammers on, the briefcase is closed in a couple of shots, and then open again for the rest of the scene.

Continuity mistake: When Elaine and her new boyfriend are eating in the restaurant, her bangs are to the side. The shot goes to a close-up of her boyfriend, in the next shot her bangs are across her forehead. Then in the next close-up of her face, her bangs are back to the side.
Continuity mistake: The exterior shot they use when establishing Monk's cafe is completely different than what is inside in the cafe. First the outside has neon lights with just RESTAURANT. The inside of the cafe, the menus, windows and door all have Monk's cafe logo on them. Secondly the door should be in the middle of the restaurant, instead the interior shows it to be to the left of the restaurant and somewhat to the side. Lastly the windows in the exterior shot are extremely large with no writing, logo and curtains pulled to the side. Inside the cafe, the windows are much smaller, with permanent curtains coming halfway up the windows and the rest being blocked by Monk's cafe logo.
Factual error: Kramer gives Jerry a two-line phone for his birthday, which Jerry plugs in and immediately uses. But a two-line phone requires the installation of an actual additional phone line. What Jerry was using when the NYU reporter overheard him "admitting" he was gay was simply call-waiting.
Continuity mistake: The scene which George arrives at Beth's apartment in a messy condition to admit his remark was in jest, his shirt's hem and collar change between shots. During this scene, especially when he talks to Jerry on the phone, his collar is up and down; his hem is in and out of his trousers.
Factual error: At the end of the episode in which George and Susan get engaged, they are lying in bed together watching "Mad About You" on TV. However, at some earlier point on "Mad About You" it had been established in a crossover episode that Paul Reiser was the person who lived in Jerry's apartment before him and was an old acquaintence of Kramer's, meaning that "Seinfeld" and "Mad About You" existed in the same reality. On "Seinfeld," the show "Mad About You" could not exist.
Continuity mistake: In the episode 'The Soul Mate,' there is a scene where Kramer is talking to Jerry's girlfriend in the library with the help of Newman. Kramer elbows Newman through the shelf knocking some books down, but in the next shot we see Newman rising and the books are back on the shelf.
Continuity mistake: Right after Jon Voight enters the taxi, Kramer sticks his arm in through the cab's rear side window, where Jon Voight was sitting. Jon Voight grabs the arm and bites Kramer on the wrist. As Kramer later was describing the incident to Jerry and George, he was pointing to a bite mark near his elbow.
Continuity mistake: In the episode with Bette Midler, she is injured when George tackles her at home plate. When he hits her, she is knocked into somebody. When they show her again, she is sprawled against the backstop with no one behind or even near her that seems to be hurt. George also misses home plate.
Continuity mistake: When George is at Susan's cousins' house complaining about them stealing the name Seven, its bright Daylight out. You can tell because the sun is pouring in through the windows. The woman goes into labor and they all get into the car to go to the hospital. At this point it is nighttime. When they finally arrive at the hospital it is broad daylight again.
Continuity mistake: When Elaine and Jerry are confronting Testicoff about paying for the woman's hospital bill, in the view from behind Testicoff he puts his left hand down to scratch his pants. When the shot switches to a closeup of Testicoff, he is waving both arms above his head.

Continuity mistake: When Celia breaks out of prison and comes to George's apartment, George opens the door and starts talking with her. After George says "And you decided to pop in" the shot shows Celia but the door has now closed behind her. It would have been impossible to close without us seeing it because Celia would have had to have moved forward to close the door.
Factual error: Newman says that the "Magic Loogie" incident happened on June 14, 1987, when the New York Mets lost to the Philadelphia Phillies due to an error by Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez. However, the Mets played the Pittsburgh Pirates on that date, and the Mets won 7-3.
Continuity mistake: After George and Janet leave the apartment, Jerry gets mad at Kramer for saying Janet looked like him. He shoves Kramer and the bottom half of the freezer door swings open. The next few shots show Jerry and Kramer from the chest up, but when a wide view shot is shown again, the freezer door is closed. It does not appear Jerry shut the door.
Continuity mistake: Due to the effect of the red glow on Kramer's eyes, he confuses the pitcher of tomato juice from Jerry's refrigerator for a pitcher of milk, pours it into the cereal, then gags and promptly tosses the contents of the bowl into the trash beside the fridge. In the close-up he tries to wipe some of it off the wall, but there's still a huge red mess left on the wall, in the trash, etc. In the next wide shot of Jerry and Kramer, the trash and wall are spotless.

Continuity mistake: George has constructed a model of the boardroom when his briefcase was destroyed. Jerry thinks George should be represented by the Yellow M&M figure. When the camera shows a close up of the figure, Jerry is holding it in a different position than the far away shots.
Factual error: When Jerry gets a speeding ticket, he asks Nicki to give the officer the registration. She gets a large piece of white paper from the glove compartment. That's what car registrations look like in California, where the show was produced. In New York, where it's supposed to take place, car registrations are the size of a driver's license, and are usually kept in the driver's wallet.
Continuity mistake: At the start of the episode, Cynthia is drinking a glass of wine. While speaking near the end of the scene, she is holding the glass in her right hand and says, "You know, guides you in your career path." The next shot is of Jerry and instantly the glass has disappeared from her hand with her right hand resting on the table. You can also see the glass is closer to her left hand now.
Continuity mistake: In the final scene where Newman is going to eat the bag of muffin stumps, Newman removes the bottles of milk and then takes a bite out of his muffin. He then takes a drink from the glass but he never filled the glass with milk in the first place.
Continuity mistake: In one scene George is solving a Rubik's cube in Jerry's apartment. When he leaves, he places the cube on Jerry's kitchen counter, and it is in the middle of the counter with the red color facing out. In the very next shot, it is moved much closer to the far edge of the counter and the color facing out has changed.
Character mistake: When Jerry tells Kramer and Newman that they left their groceries under the hood of his car, he comments, "The AAA guy said I was this close to sucking a muffin down the carburetor." Jerry's car is a Saab 9000, which are fuel injected.

Continuity mistake: While Kramer is explaining about being in the Woody Allen movie, George is in the background looking out the window trying to stop car alarms with his keys. Less then five seconds later, George ends up by Jerry's counter (without being seen) and has a can of Shasta in his hand.
Factual error: In the episode where Jerry is upgraded to first class while Elaine struggles in coach, the scene changes to show a plane flying with the colors of Southwest Airlines, and you can make out the name "Southwest" written on the tail if you pause as it's landing. Anyone who has flown them knows that there is no first class on Southwest.
Factual error: In this episode, after accepting a free Armani suit from Kenny Bania, Bania insists that Jerry repay him by taking him to a nice restaurant. Jerry takes Bania to Mendy's, a Glatt kosher NYC deli. During the ordering process Bania suggests, "Oh, get the swordfish. Best swordfish in the city. The best, Jerry." Swordfish is considered an unkosher fish by Glatt kosher standards since it does not have scales, one of the essential criteria. It would therefore never be served at Mendy's.
Continuity mistake: We find out George's parents sleep in separate beds. His father says "Thirty years ago we came to an agreement. It was the only way I could get some rest. Estelle's got the Jimmy arms." This contradicts S5E10, "The Cigar Store Indian", when George's parents come back from their trip, Estelle finds a condom wrapper in "our bed." Also Frank asks George, "You were having sex on our bed?", and Estelle follows by saying, "Who told you you could have sex in our bed?!"
Continuity mistake: In the start of the scene when Kramer tells Elaine that the armoire got stolen. When Elaine walks in from the right side she walks right past the armoire, and it still has the two blue straps on it so it's the same one. The gaffe seems to have been edited out in some versions.
Continuity mistake: When Loretta comes into the apartment she is carrying a coat and roses in one hand and the other hand is supporting her handbag by her right shoulder (left on screen). In the next shot she is holding the bottom of the flowers with both hands instead of just the left hand.
Plot hole: In the episode where Kramer decides to start sleeping like a Seal, he's with a girl. He falls asleep on top of her and she seems to think that he's dead. While breathing, your chest expands in such a way that if somebody were laying on top of you, there is no conceivable way that you could think that they are dead.
Revealing mistake: While Jack is leaving the apartment after giving Jerry the pen, you can see they have put a fake background outside the front door. What's more it is not even that realistic. It looks like a forest with a river in the middle. The Seinfeld's Florida apartment is situated amongst many other apartments around it.
Continuity mistake: When Kramer and Jerry are talking about the bird being in the hallway, notice how the intercom keeps changing. In some shots the intercom is not set straight and leaning to the right and in other shots it is completely straight. The most notable change is when Kramer is leaving the apartment. It goes from crooked as he is leaving, then straight while he is outside in the hall and then the entire unit is completely pulled right out after Kramer rushes backs in.
Continuity mistake: While Jerry calls George from the coffee shop to tell him about the survey question, there is a shot of the waitresses and staff sitting at the tables. Behind them you can see the booths the gang usually sits at and there is a wall right next to the booth with pictures and pipes. Only problem is there are always booths next to the two near the front entrance. Even in this episode you can see the other booths as there are menus, condiments and napkins at the booths next to the regular booths.
Continuity mistake: There are inconsistencies regarding how old Jerry and George are. In Season 2's The Heart Attack, George states he is 33 years old. In Season 3's The Stranded - just one year later - Jerry states that he is 36 years old. However, in Season 9's The Butter Shave, it is revealed that they are just four months apart.

Continuity mistake: When Mike accuses Jerry of murder at Susie's wake, watch the people behind and around Jerry. There are women either side of Peggy, turning around, looking surprised and moving their hands. The next shot, we see Jerry from behind his seat, and everyone has instantly changed to sitting perfectly still, looking ahead with their hands still.
Continuity mistake: Jerry says he has never seen an episode of I Love Lucy in his life, then pops the cork on the wine bottle. Then it cuts to the lady and she asks, "Is there anything else about you I should know?" and the wine bottle is still on the table, corked. Then it cuts back to Jerry, and the bottle is still in his hand uncorked.
Continuity mistake: In the first scene (approximately 3 minutes in) where Jerry points out the red-headed woman in the parking garage to George, she is leaving her vehicle in a section of the garage that is labeled 14 with a green background. However, later (approximately 23 minutes in) she is shown returning to her car in section 14, but the color is now yellow.
Revealing mistake: When Kramer and his lawyer, Jackie, are in the taxi; when Jackie says "who told you to have a pow wow", a man is seen walking across the rear window. The taxi is supposed to be moving, but the man's position stays the same (the taxi should be pulling away from him). The actual traffic filmed for the green screen doesn't seem to react to a man jaywalking in front of them either, as it was someone walking across the set.
Continuity mistake: When George is at his girlfriend's mother's house, the plates on the table switch around. Then the order he stacks them changes. When he picks them up, the plate with the chicken is in the middle with a plate with a napkin on top, then in the kitchen, the plate with the chicken is on top.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, after George has successfully airbrushed himself out of Kruger's picture and reinserted an authentic picture of Kruger, Kruger picks up the picture and explains to George why he doesn't think the mole Kramer discovered in Kruger's cancer screening is anything to worry about. After George says "Whatever" and just before Kruger begins explaining the story behind the picture to George, he tilts the picture towards the camera and if you look closely you can see that George is still in the picture.

Continuity mistake: Jerry and George are at the pharmacy. As George pays the bill and is heading out, behind Jerry there's an old lady at the counter. The camera changes and the same lady disappears and you can see her in other side of the store heading again to the counter.
Continuity mistake: The inside and the outside of the Costanzas' home do not match up. From the inside, you can see that if you walk in the front door the kitchen would be on your left and a sitting room-type area is on your right (accessible from the living room). However, from the outside, it shows bay windows on what would be the left (kitchen) side and a door to another townhouse on the right (sitting room) side.
Continuity mistake: When Elaine joins Jerry and George at the cafe and tells them she spent ten minutes looking for a grape, keep an eye on the straw in George's drink. From shot to shot, the straw in George's drink keeps changing position, from tilted to upright, then tilted at the opposite end of the glass, then upright again, then back to tilted.

Factual error: During the AIDS walk there is an officer seen several times with a patch "Transit Police, NYC." Not only is the patch completely fictional, it doesn't look anything like the real transit police logo. The Transit Police had already been defunct by the time of this episode.

Continuity mistake: In the scene which starts with Jerry saying he has never seen an episode of I Love Lucy in his life, two wine glasses switch sides. The one with wine in it is on the left side of the screen, then 5 seconds later it is on the right side. Jerry also takes the cork out of the wine bottle and then in the next shot it is back on, only for the next shot for it to be off again.
Revealing mistake: After the scene in which Elaine tells Jerry about her confrontation with the "head-nodding" man, and before the scene where George swallows a fly, the scene cuts to a shot of the exterior of Monk's café. The actual, real-life restaurant used for exterior purposes is named "Tom's Restaurant," and the "m's" in "Tom's" can be seen during this five-second shot.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Elaine questions her boyfriend in front of her apartment, look carefully at the end of the conversation. When her boyfriend turns and walks away, you can see where the green screen ends, with the crew members/cameras standing on the set.
Continuity mistake: When Elaine gets kicked out of the nail salon it is a clear day (in fact the whole episode is) then the next scene she meets J Peterman at night and in the rain. When she left the salon she is wearing a red blouse, no jacket. When she meets Peterman she is in a trench coat with a white blouse. The Peterman portion of this episode really makes no sense.
Continuity mistake: When George enters the cafe near the start, he takes Jerry's plate and begins eating the fries. After finishing the first fry, his hands are on the plate. Jerry then asks him what happened, and suddenly he has a fry in his hands which are also now raised slightly.

Deliberate mistake: In this episode Elaine angers the bag man and he puts her bag on a plane to Honolulu. When Jerry and Elaine arrive in New York and are waiting for their bags, it cuts to the "Hawaii" airport and shows Elaine's bag coming out to the baggage claim belt. This was a deliberate mistake as there is no way Elaine's bag could have gotten to Hawaii at the same time Jerry and Elaine are waiting for their bags in New York, since they only left from Missouri.
