Red Dwarf

Season 2 generally

New this month Other mistake: The shots of Blue Midget driving back to Red Dwarf that are shown from behind are visibly the exact same shots used each time. This is evident as the driving movements of Blue Midget, its position in the frame, and Red Dwarf's position in the background are all identical each time.

Camille - S4-E1

New this month Other mistake: When Kryten and Camille are having dinner, Camille puts her "hand" in the soup and begins slurping it up. The level of soup remains the same and doesn't lower despite being slurped.

Bodyswap - S3-E4

New this month Other mistake: When Lister inadvertently sets off the Auto Destruct sequence, the computer voice says the ship will detonate in 15 minutes. The computer then says "the ship will detonate" every five seconds followed by how much time until detonation, but the time in which the computer says this is inconsistent. Two seconds after the computer says 15 minutes, the computer says the ship will detonate in 14 minutes 55 seconds. Ten seconds after saying that, the computer says the ship will detonate in 14 minutes 50 seconds.

Bodyswap - S3-E4

New this month Other mistake: When the group are discussing if they can override the Auto Destruct, the computer voice says 8 minutes 20 seconds until detonation. About 20 seconds after saying this, the computer voice then says 8 minutes 10 seconds until detonation.

Backwards - S3-E1

New this month Other mistake: It is established in the backwards version of Earth, that all writing is reversed and is spelled backwards. However, there are some inconsistencies, as in some instances the writing has been mirrored to appear reversed, whilst in some instances the writing has just been spelled out backwards. For example, car number plates and signs on display in the background have been mirrored to appear reversed, but the newspaper that Kryten reads, the Nodnol sign and the Sensational Reverse Brothers poster appear normally typed out, and not as the mirror image that other aspects of this world have.

New this month Other mistake: When Rimmer is testing Kryten on a book of space traffic signs, Kryten stops on one page and is tested, which he says the sign is a binary star. Without turning the page, Rimmer points to a second sign on the same page asking what it is, which he points out is a blue giant about to supernova. After pointing to the time hole, Rimmer turns back to the book, saying "Right. What's this?" whilst still on the same page, pointing to a another sign. The page that is being used has one sign shown on the right hand side page, and the left hand side page is completely blank, equalling one sign on both sides of the page, but two or three signs are made mention to when on the page.

Casual Person

M-Corp - S12-E5

Other mistake: When Cat picks up the can of Leopard lager which is invisible to Lister, he shakes it, pops the cap and sprays Lister with foam. The foam is visible but the can remains invisible, and that makes no sense. If we are seeing the scene from Cat's point of view the can and foam should both be visible, and if it is from Lister's then neither should be.

Bodyswap - S3-E4

Other mistake: When Lister (in Rimmer's body) pleads the Cat to lend him his body, he says "how else can I pilot White Midget?" In the next scene, the Blue Midget is being piloted, and White Midget was originally abandoned for Starbug. (This mistake was admitted by the crew).

Backwards - S3-E1

Other mistake: At the start of the episode, there is a spoof Star Wars-type caption, which spools up the screen very quickly. Too quickly to be read, in fact... which may explain why few people have noticed that the last line of the caption, "And now the Saga Continuums...", is written twice.

Marooned - S3-E2

Other mistake: When the meteor hits Starbug, there are no stars outside the front of the ship at all.

Psirens - S6-E1

Other mistake: Kryten places Rimmer's light bee on the floor, then begins the process of reinitialising him. As the process finishes and Rimmer looks at Lister (who looks away), the light bee, which should be hovering within his torso projecting his image, is still visible on the floor between his feet.

Waiting For God - S1-E4

Other mistake: In the picture of the cat wars between the Red Hats and the Blue Hats, the hats are orange instead of blue.

Legion - S6-E2

Other mistake: When Lister gets hit in the face by the telekinetic wine, the level of wine does not go down in the glass.

Only The Good... - S8-E8

Other mistake: When Rimmer tries to silence the vending machine, he covers up the input microphone with stickers instead of covering the speaker just above it.

The End - S1-E1

Other mistake: At the start of Rimmer's exam, the invigilator orders the students to "turn over their papers and start". Rimmer reads one side of the paper, then turns it over to read another question. The back of the paper should have been blank as otherwise there would be no point asking the students to keep the papers face down before reading the questions.

Legion - S6-E2

Other mistake: When Legion stabs his left hand, everyone grabs and shakes their left hands - except Lister, who grabs and shakes his RIGHT hand.

00:22:40

The End - S1-E1

Other mistake: When Rimmer unclogs the chicken soup dispenser nozzle, he works on the back of the opening in the wall. When he orders chicken soup, the shelf drops down from above where Rimmer was working, thus above where the nozzle is located.

Legion - S6-E2

Other mistake: When Rimmer extracts his own light bee, it disappears with him.

00:25:10

Dwarf

Me2 - S1-E6

Other mistake: When Lister reads Rimmer's diary, he reads the first entry, then his aunt's birthday in July and then the entry for Gazpacho Soup Day in November. Each time he looks for the next entry he flicks though the pages, yet every time he reads, it is from the start of the diary.

Better Than Life - S2-E2

Other mistake: The tax letter and Rimmer's mother's letter are both already opened before Lister takes the letters out. As there is no one else aboard Red Dwarf, the letters would not have been checked by anyone so they should still be sealed. Also, not all of the letters are already open, just the two that Rimmer receives.

Backwards - S3-E1

Other mistake: In the bar when Rimmer and Kryten are on stage, Kryten eats a boiled egg then drinks a glass of water, yet he cannot eat or drink because he is a mechanoid.

Other mistake: Rimmer's badge of rank is missing from his short sleeved uniform. All other uniforms in the series have the badge.

Justice - S4-E3

Other mistake: Rimmer's long-service medals are absent from his ceremonial uniform during the trial. 17.15.

Fathers & Suns - S10-E2

Other mistake: An option for the new computer is breast size. A meaningless addition, since the computer is just a head.

Casual Person

Cassandra - S8-E4

Other mistake: Cassandra says that all the canaries will be dead in 1 hour, with the exception of Rimmer, Kryten, Lister, Cat and Kochanski. However, Kill Crazy was still knocked out in the transport vehicle and presumably would have survived too.

Suggested correction: But Cassandra was known to lie if it suited her purpose, she said that Lister would harpoon Arnold through the head and kill him but that's not what really happened either.

Yes, Cassandra lied about Lister shooting Arnold through the head with a harpoon, but that was an attempt to stop Lister from killing her. Mentioning which of the canaries will survive had no impact on any of her plans, so not mentioning Kill Crazy survived is still incorrect on her behalf.

Future Echoes - S1-E2

Other mistake: When Rimmer is doing Lister's memo, there there are only about a few stars visible out the window, which is far too few given the amount of stars shown in exterior space shots of the ship. Additionally, a star suddenly appears in the window.

Other mistake: When the Cat says there better be no dogs on the ship, there are only about two or three stars visible out the window. Far too few given the amount of stars shown in exterior space shots of the ship.

Kryten tells everyone that the matter paddle transmits matter in digital form from one place to another at the speed of light - he is very clear on this point. He then locates Waxworld, which is 200,000 light years away. Okay - so when they use the matter paddle to transmit themselves to Waxworld, why doesn't it take them 200,000 years to get there?
