Psirens - S6-E1

Plot hole: When Rimmer is sitting on the swivel chair, he manages to turn the seat, impossible as he is a hologram.

Suggested correction: This type of "mistake" has been posted over and over again. If Rimmer can sit on the chair, he can turn it. Holly is trying to keep Lister's fragile sanity intact and so she moves objects like the chair according to Rimmer's moves. (The chair might be a hologram, too!). Besides, by the line of reasoning in these posts Rimmer should sink through the floor.

Whether or not the correction is valid based on Holly's action or the idea of a holographic chair, holograms most definitely can not interact with real objects, such as turning the chair. However, that does not mean they'd "sink through the floor." They are projections of light the same as projecting an image or a movie onto a screen, albeit in 3-dimensions. An image projected onto a wall wouldn't sink. Even if the projector was moved to point down, the image would just be projected onto the floor.

Lister: Get real, man. Most eunuchs have got more balls than you.

Kryten tells everyone that the matter paddle transmits matter in digital form from one place to another at the speed of light - he is very clear on this point. He then locates Waxworld, which is 200,000 light years away. Okay - so when they use the matter paddle to transmit themselves to Waxworld, why doesn't it take them 200,000 years to get there?

The actor who plays the original Kryten, in 'Kryten', also turns up later as the voice of Talkie Toaster.
