Carentan - S1-E3

Factual error: In this episode we see Blithe get shot in the neck and are told that he died in 1948. In reality he was shot in the shoulder and survived. He later served in Korea and was promoted to master sergeant as well as receiving the paratrooper of the year award. Blithe died in 1967 while on active duty in Germany.

Currahee - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: In the bootcamp scene where Captain Sobel is yelling at Private Christenson for drinking from his canteen, you see a machine gun resting on Christenson's right shoulder. When the camera angle changes to behind Christenson, the machine gun has suddenly moved onto his other shoulder. This happens quite a few times in this particular scene.

The Breaking Point - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: In "The Breaking Point," Lipton is narrating the bombardment of the woods right outside of Foy. Just before he says, "What I saw that day," at 30:55, you see a section of a tree explode, but when the debris (i.e. the splinters of wood and snow) clears you see that the "blown up" section of the tree is unharmed.

Season 1 generally

Factual error: The British paratroop commander is a brigadier-general. The British Army abolished the rank of brigadier-general in 1922 and replaced it with brigadier in 1928. A brigadier is not a general and does not wear a general officer's cap badge.

Replacements - S1-E4

Other mistake: When Heffron is taking his throw at darts, he states that he needs a "double seven". When he takes the throw, the dart goes into the treble eight (an earlier close-up confirms that the board has the standard Gamlin configuration), yet, from the reaction he gets, he's made the throw he was going for.

The Patrol - S1-E8

Visible crew/equipment: When the patrol is on its way, one of the boats tilts over and some soldiers are screaming they can't swim. At some point during that scene there is a wide shot with in the background the other side and a skylight. Right in the middle of that shot on the other side you can see a man walking away wearing a orange vest or jacket of some sorts. Might be the pyro-guy.

Why We Fight - S1-E9

Factual error: Private Webster is holding the baker and pointing his 45 caliber pistol on the baker's throat. A 3-dot (white) sight system can be seen on his pistol. The 3-dot sight system appeared either in the late 1970's or early 1980's.

Crossroads - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: In part 5 when Easy company surprises the two sleeping German companies, with Winters leading the charge. Winters crosses the berm and a sleeping German stands up, and gets shot. Winters then shoots off 9 more rounds (2 too many), then reloads, drops to one knee and only shoots 6 rounds (2 too few), and in both cases the clip ejects as if it were a normal 8 round firing sequence.

Why We Fight - S1-E9

Continuity mistake: When Cpt. Nixon is running out of booze while he is playing poker with some other officers he is going out to take a walk. After a while he stops in front of a shop window and smashes a petrol can from a nearby jeep through the glass. There is a big hole in the window but not big enough for him to get through. Two shots later there is no glass at all in the shop window even though he never had the time to remove the rest of it.

Currahee - S1-E1

Character mistake: In the scene where Captain Sobel is inspecting the soldiers at the beginning of the episode, he goes up to Sergeant Lipton and notices something wrong with his chevrons. Well, in that part, Sergeant Lipton is not standing correctly in the position of attention because he is sort of slouching and his head is in front of his shoulders and the correct position of attention is standing straight up and having your neck behind your shoulders. If he was in the real army, he would have gotten a punishment for not standing at the correct position of attention.

Currahee - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Sobel is explaining to Strayer why he cut the fence, Strayer is a colonel; however, when Winters is briefing his men before going to assault the 105 he refers to him as a Major.

Factual error: In the scene at the end of Part 1 where the aircraft are taking off on June 5 1944, as the camera pulls out to show the many aircraft rolling down the tarmac, the first aircraft shows the pilot wearing a pale green headset remarkably similar to a David Clark headset. However, the Clark company didn't start producing headsets until after the war.

Why We Fight - S1-E9

Factual error: At the beginning of the episode it says is April 11, 1945, the men are listening to the 4 piece then it goes to a month earlier. At the end of the episode, it returns to this exact scene where Nixon announces, "Hitler is dead." Hitler didn't commit suicide until ten days after his birthday, the 20th, on April 30.

Points - S1-E10

Other mistake: During the scene when the soldier who shot Sergeant Grant on the head was captured, Captain Speirs with a drawn M1911 pistol (hammer not cocked) is seen entering the building. In the interrogation room, it appeared that Capt. Speirs pulled back the slide of his pistol (this is after hitting the face of the captured soldier with his pistol). Speirs then aimed to shoot the captured soldier's head. Sergeant Perconte slowly stepped back (fearing he might be in the line of fire). Clearly it can be seen that the hammer is still not cocked. Then a sound of what appears to be a clicking (or unclicking) of the pistol's safety by Speirs.
