New this month Continuity mistake: We see a black car driving down the street after the end of the scene between the two Palmers. In this shot you can see the passenger in the back of the car (Andre) is not on the phone. Camera changes to inside and Andre is on the phone.
New this month Other mistake: When David is talking to his son on the balcony he asks if he (Keith) could live with everything being about him. This is during a split screen where you can see David's head in both shots. In one shot his head moves to the side, but in the other shot that is supposedly at the same time, his head doesn't move.
New this month Continuity mistake: Elizabeth walks away from the security brief and puts her arm on the wall. When David approaches her, her arm is still on the wall. When the camera changes to the front angle, her arm is not on the wall any more. This is an instant cut.
Visible crew/equipment: Jack Bauer and his boss are in a building at night with a shooter hidden somewhere. They open a door and look very carefully to the right and then to the left before going through the door. On the right side you can briefly see two crew members and as the camera pulls forward they back up some so they won't be seen.
Continuity mistake: The 6:00PM-7:00PM episode ends when it is still light outside. The 7:00PM-8:00PM Episode begins when it is completely dark (no sunset/dusk/twilight) The show is supposed to be in "real-time" but as the sun goes down it gradually gets darker, it does not just become dark from one second to the next. Also, the California presidential primary takes place in June. It is not even close to dark at 7pm in June.
Continuity mistake: When Jack drives to 18166 San Fernando Road he stops the car, gets out and leaves his phone in the car - you can see the green light of the phone's screen - he didn't reach for it. However, when Teri calls him, he has the phone in his pocket.
Continuity mistake: When Jack stops at the bus station to get a bag, we see a shot of Jacks car from the point of view of the guy who has the bag. You can see a quite big camera inside the car on the left side. When we see the reverse shot from inside of the car, the camera is gone.
Continuity mistake: During season one of 24, Jack answers his mobile to Gaines and we see footage of Jack on a CCTV camera. The CCTV footage shows medical staff moving, yet when they cut back to the camera in the hall the medical staff are in different places, they keep changing places and keep disappearing and re-appearing and the CCTV footage is about two seconds ahead of the footage in the corridor.
Continuity mistake: In the previous hour, Pattie has long straight hair down to her shoulders. We see this all the way through, even at the very end. Yet at the start of episode 22, when she is now at the party a mere 10 minutes later, her hair is very much shorter. There is no way she would be able to get ready for the party in that time, let alone have her hair cut.
Continuity mistake: At about 2:15am, when Jack's talking to Nina about the passenger list on the plane, we see a shot of Jack in the top left, and Nina in the top right. Because it's real time they're both meant to match up - we're watching them both at the same time. In each shot we can see the back of the other's head, but while Jack is looking down and around in the left-hand shot, in the right-hand shot his head is staying perfectly still.
Plot hole: When Kim sees Gary she runs into the master bedroom, hides her bags, goes into the closet and up to the attic - all in the time it takes Gary to run five yards to the bedroom door. And considering how much noise the attic door made he should have heard her. Plus, how did she manage to get the door hatch closed when she had gone up?
Factual error: When Mrs. Logan escapes, Aaron Pierce refers to her as "the First Lady" over his radio. The Secret Service has code names for each of the members of the president's family. He should have used her code name when communicating to other Secret Service agents about her.
Continuity mistake: When Senator Palmer is binding his tie in front of the mirror, he pulls the broad part of it completely through the loop of the tie around his neck. Than it cuts to a close-up and the broad part's part-way through the loop again.
Continuity mistake: In the shot near the end where you see Jack's family running away from the van, Kim is wearing sneakers. But until now, making abstraction of the other continuity error a few episodes earlier, she was wearing sandals. It can be seen in another scene afterward.
Continuity mistake: When Jason and his wife are trying to escape from Marwan, they run through a corridor filled with water puddles. A few seconds later, one of Marwan's men goes through the same corridor to follow them, but none of the puddles had any ripples, which they should have considering the amount of water and time elapsed.
Visible crew/equipment: When Julie is pointing her gun at Sherry, to her rear in the top right part of the screen there is a black shiny wall panel. On this panel you can see man's reflection, who appears to be wearing headphones. His reflection is in the shot for several seconds.
Factual error: In the scene where Steven Saunders phones Tony Almeida to tell him Michelle Dessler has been captured, Steven tells Tony to open a "private web socket" to IP 222.214.171.124. Such an IP cannot exist, the maximum value for any single number in an IP is 255, anything higher like 257 is not defined. Real websites have been mentioned in the show before such as sylviaimports.com, making this reference a bit silly. Occurs at 39:38 in the episode.
Continuity mistake: The show claims to be in real time, and although those viewers who aren't too eagle-eyed will argue that it is, there is undisputed evidence in this episode that it isn't accurate. After the final ad break, the clock reads 03:52. At least two minutes later, when we see Teri and "Alan York" turn a corner in their car, the clock is displayed at the bottom of the screen, and it is still 03:52. The same sort of thing happens earlier in the episode, when there is a good ten minutes or so between when the clock says 03:26 and when it says 03:30.
Continuity mistake: Mike Novik is briefing President Palmer about his phone call with Jack Bauer. In one shot Mike gets so emotionally involved in his speech to Palmer, a tear roles down his face and his eyes are glazed. The camera switches to Palmer, and in the next shot of Mike, his face is dry and his eyes are not glazed anymore.
Continuity mistake: Day Four: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. When Tariq and Behrooz are shown in split-screen digging Debbie's grave right after the commercial break (12:54:10 by the show's clock), Tariq's white t-shirt is covered in dirt. When the shot goes back to them a minute or so later, Tariq's t-shirt is much cleaner.
Revealing mistake: When Kate Warner phones her sister, Marie holds her phone up to the camera and you can see that the words "KATE'S CELL" have been written using the 'Write Messages' function on her Nokia. The 'abc' in the corner gives it away plus you can see the cursor trying to be hidden by being moved next to the 'K'
Continuity mistake: In the police station, Kim's right arm is handcuffed to the bench as we see the profile/ master shot of her and Rick, but in the next shot, (the medium/front), Kim's right arm is behind her now and not cuffed, as Rick is being cuffed to the bench. A few seconds later, her right arm is again handcuffed to the bench. Kim's right arm is moving around as she talks to Rick and the scene progresses. Her left arm is finally uncuffed when the detective goes to book her.
Deliberate mistake: When Jack and that FBI team are looking for Sied Ali in the mosque, Jack finds a burning body in another room. He is led to believe that it is Ali, because the body's clothes matched the description that Kate Warner had given him. It is obvious that the skin is badly burnt, yet the clothes are barely scorched.
Continuity mistake: During Episode 3 of Season 5, the terrorists take Derek in front of live television. When the terrorists force him on his knees, you can see a splatter of blood on the floor from the body of the last victim that was shot there. As time is running out, another shot of Derek being held by the terrorists is shown, and the mere splatter of blood that had been near his knees is now a noticeably big pool of blood. Nobody has harmed Derek yet, and there are no signs that he is bleeding. So where did all that blood come from?
Character mistake: 23rd minute. Jack meets the female assassin in Anderson's apartment. She demands that he show his credentials. Jack says he's with CTU on a provisional basis and therefore he has no badge. The agent that came with Jack confirms that. Yet, in the 13th episode (minute 14) when he enters the sports shop with Audrey's husband, he shows his CTU badge to the owners in order to prove that he in fact is a federal agent.
Continuity mistake: When Logan walks into Martha's bungalow, there is a deliberate close-up of the photograph with Martha and Anya, in a narrow goldtone frame. Oddly, in following shots, that photo is in a wide width, white frame. Additionally, the arrangement of all the frames on that table changes quite a bit as well.
Add timeSuper Grover
Continuity mistake: When Kim is working undercover, dressed up in Saunder's daughter's clothes, she comes out of the Ladies' toilets wearing brown trainers. As she sits down at the library computer, you see she is wearing her very high heeled shoes. A few seconds later, as she is walking between the library shelves, she is wearing brown trainers.
Plot hole: At 01:50 am, Chloe is told to go to Sabir's house. She arrives there approximately 5 minutes later, at 01:55:45. At 01:58, Jack is told that the closest tactical team is 15 minutes away from Sabir's residence. A few moments later, Jack mentions that the tactical team is 10 minutes apart from Chloe, meaning they bothered to send the team over there even though any officer currently at CTU HQ, including Jack, could get over there a lot sooner.
Plot hole: Dina Araz was executed at 8:57pmin the previous episode. At 9:01pm during this episode, the terrorists have already placed her body in the van, driven off with it, and abandoned it. Then someone had found the body, reported it in, and the information gotten to CTU. All in the course of four minutes. That is impossible, no matter how fast the terrorists were.
Continuity mistake: Season 5 - 9pm-10pm, at 9:41pm. - Technical weapon error. When Jack takes the Federal Marshal's' Glock pistol, in an effort to add drama, he holds the pistol in his right hand and cocks it with his left hand by grabbing the slide, pulling it back, and releasing it to chamber another round. However, after he does this, the camera zooms in on the gun as it is pointed at Colette's' head and you can see that the slide is still back on the gun and NOT capable of firing at all.
Plot hole: When Kim is brought back to the police station for the last time, the officer explains to her that they now know it was Gary Matheson who killed his wife, and that they are still looking for him. Why then, would Kim and her police escort not even consider the possibility that he might be hiding at his home when they arrive to get Kim's belongings? Even if the police searched the house once before, you would have to be insane to allow a teenage girl to enter the home of a known murderer on the loose. Beyond that, Kim herself never seemed to consider the threat.
Factual error: When Edgar proves that Mary-Ann Taylor framed Sarah to be the rat in CTU, he claims that she remotely took control of her computer by sending the signal over "a plain old AC power line." This is not possible, unless the computers were equipped with special hardware to separate the AC from the signal. If they were, this traffic would have been observed by James Heller's assistant.
Factual error: While Drazen is a very common Serbian given name, it is not found as a surname in that form. The surname "Drazenovic" would be fairly common, but not simply "Drazen". Even then, it would be pronounced "Drah-zhen" and not "Dray-zen" as everybody in the show does.
Continuity mistake: In the long shot showing Kate and Reza driving down the highway, in the background of the passenger side, we can see a very tall wooden partition. However, the close shots of Kate talking shows a lush green background - suddenly there is no partition.
00:30:00 - 00:31:00Steph_Jared
Continuity mistake: Marie Warner goes to see Reza at her father's office at about 5:30. When she enters the office, she puts her handbag on the table and embraces Reza. After they embrace she picks her handbag up from the floor next to Reza's chair. There was no time or opportunity for anyone to move her bag.
Continuity mistake: In the first scene where we see Tony as a hostage, Mandy comes over to him and he has a white gag in his mouth, which is taut. Mandy says, "Is she gonna do the same for you?" and the camera cuts back to Tony, whose gag is now limp on both sides.
Factual error: Invoking the 25th amendment cannot be done by vote. The members have to send in their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall then immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Continuity mistake: During the hostage exchange, there is a shot of the black man waiting for Jane Saunders to walk to him, in the background we can just see a man stood behind a car door. However, in the wider shots and when Saunders jumps out of his car, the man is not there.
Continuity mistake: When James phones Jack, who is at Tony's house with Audrey, Jack says they are at "21408, Kipling, North Hollywood". Later, when Secret Service arrives to pick up Audrey, Jack walks outside the house, where we see the house number is actually 21048. The same can be seen earlier when Tony, Audrey and Jack first arrive at the house, but not as close-up.
00:25:05 - 00:30:05darren-c
Revealing mistake: Right when Jack and the prisoner are walking through what appears to be the gun room in the prison, you can see the guy who attacks them through the door. You can only see a small part of him but he is obviously waiting to enter the scene and attack.
Audio problem: In the scene where the President Logan is in his office and planning to take his own life, he gets a phone call from CTU's Miles Papazian. When President Logan answers the intercom, his voice sounds like he is the one talking through the intercom, eventhough the camera stays on President Logan. After answering the intercom, his voice changes back to normal.
Continuity mistake: When Tony locks down Tech One from his office, the CCTV screen he's watching shows the monitors in there displaying the "locked down" message moments before they actually change to the message in the next shot within Tech One.
Continuity mistake: When the CTU units arrive with the helicopter, they ask Teri to drop the weapon. She puts down the weapon, than it is a cut to a view from behind Teri and she still has the weapon in her hand, but is starting bend to put the weapon down.
Deliberate mistake: The blue and white airplane when the male terrorist tries to take off has the following registration: N34G5This seems to be a deliberate mistake as only the following N registrations are officially possible: N plus one to five numbers (N12345) / N plus one to four numbers and one suffix letter (N1234Z) / N plus one to three numbers and two suffix letters (N123AZ).
Add timeRonnie Bischof
Revealing mistake: Right after Kim Bauer and Miguel start a fire in the police van, the vehicle swerves off the road and tumbles. In the next shot, you see "Kim" on top of the car, trying to get in through the window (the car is about to fall off a slope or something). Pay close attention, zoom in, or whatever, the woman is not Kim but is a stunt double. She's got a much chubbier-looking face and is definitely not Kim Bauer. This occurs at 19:40 in this episode.
Continuity mistake: In the teachers' lounge Jack tells Chase that the second floor is cleared. When he doesn't get an answer he realises something is wrong and runs down to the floor Chase is searching. After he's cut Chase's hand off he runs out into the hallway and into the lounge which is suddenly on the same floor Chase was on.
Factual error: At some point Jack tries to get a message to CTU about the fact that he is being held hostage. The enemy sees Jack writing and tells Jack to shred the message. I work in government security. Believe me, no government agency would have a simple shredder that just cuts the paper into strips. Required is a cross cut shredder that breaks the paper into almost a pulverized state.
Add timeKathleen Albers
Continuity mistake: Chloe tells Michelle that she's confirmed Marwan's identity using voice tags from McLennan Forrester, but all of the computer records at MF were wiped out a few episodes earlier by the EMP, according to both the MF employees and CTU. The fact that they didn't get any information from the company except for the printouts Jack and Paul extracted was a major plot point a few hours ago, so even if a real EMP wouldn't do this, the fact that it's stated repeatedly in the show means it should hold true within the series; Chloe suddenly having information from them an hour or so later is discontinuous, and thus a mistake.
Plot hole: Martha Logan told Evelyn about the transcript and hid it in her bra in front of her. Yet when Mrs. Logan later tells her husband about it Evelyn doesn't seem to have any idea what she is talking about. While it can be considered a character choice for Evelyn not to speak up, there is no reason at all why Martha, who is so desperate for her husband to believe her, doesn't ask Evelyn to verify it.
Other mistake: At about 5:36 Jack and Ramon are playing Russian Roulette. Right before Ramon nods to Jack indicating the bullet will be fired, we see a shot of the gun from behind revealing the next chamber to be empty. The trigger would need to be pulled two more times in order to fire the bullet.
Continuity mistake: Season five, 5th hour. Lynn knows about the four people who knew Jack was still alive, he mentions their names and talks to Jack about it. Yet when they are told Tony wants to speak with Jack, Lynn looks completely puzzled and Jack tells him that he knew Tony. Minutes earlier Lynn already knew that.
Continuity mistake: When Agent Lobell tries to stop a car from leaving the train station, the terrorist in the car shoots at him through a window, shattering it. When the camera cuts to a shot of Lobell falling to the ground, the window in the car is gone, but no fragments of it are on the car or the ground under it.
Other mistake: In the shootout at the stadium, several times when Jack fires a gun the sound of the gun firing is heard but it is obvious that the gun did NOT fire. Most noticeable when Jack fires the third shot at the man behind the wall and when he is struggling for the gun with the last guy who he beats up.
Factual error: At 18:50, Tony tells Jack that he's contacted someone at the San Jose Sheriff's Department. At 19:35 Jack calls and gets a response of "Sheriff's Department" on the line. There is no San Jose Sheriff's Department. It should have either been the San Jose Police Department or the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
Factual error: Chase gets into surgery way too quickly. Considering the time it would take for the paramedics to reach him, stabilise him, pack his hand in ice and bring him to the ER, and then for the doctors to get him ready for surgery, sedate him and actually start operating. There is no way they would have been able to do that in the amount of time they did.
Continuity mistake: In the 08:00 - 09:00 episode on DVD (and during the previous few hours) you see Kim Bauer's feet and she is wearing sandals with no socks. At 08:36 when Terri has just been taken from the room where they are being held captive you see a shot of Kim sitting down and you can see that she is wearing pink leather slipper style shoes and black socks.
Continuity mistake: When Roger Stanton is about to be arrested, just before he stands up from his desk, we can see that the screen of his laptop is completely blue, however, while he is walking away with the army men, we can see the red ACCESS DENIED message on the screen on top of the blue background. No one touched the computer during that time.
Continuity mistake: In the previous episode, when Jack and Tony try to stop the helicopter, they drive off the road and hit the front bumper and lose their front license plate. This is also visible in this episode as Jack and Tony wait for backup and when they drive off there is still no license plate, but about 8 minutes later, when they arrive, the license plate is back on. Since the show is in real time and they arrived in the exact time they said they would, they couldn't have stopped to get it fixed or anything.
Continuity mistake: When Keith Palmer and Carl Webb meet they stop walking around to talk. When we see Carl's face, the sun is coming from behind him, the light shimmers through his hair and the light reflects on Keith's face. Than it cuts to a view from behind Carl, and there is suddenly no light, both stand in the shadow.
Revealing mistake: When Michelle is in the van, waiting for the computer to finish analysing the conversation between Alex Hewitt and Sherry Palmer, the computer bleeps to says it has "heard" enough of the conversation to be able to recreate Hewitt's voice. How ever, it bleeps whilst Sherry is in the middle of talking. The computer should have made the noise about 15 seconds before.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the CTU tactical team arrives at the 'lz', the chopper that first makes ground contact is marked "CTU-1", and offloads six federal agents in full tactical gear. Later in another shot of the same scene, you see "CTU-1" marked on a second chopper still circling in the air. It's clear this is not the same chopper as before, as we see the first "CTU-1" on the ground again moments later.
Character mistake: Eli asks Rick, "Who was that guy I talked to? It was her father, wasn't it?" In the previous episode, Jack says, "I'm the last thing you will ever see if anything happens to my wife or my daughter." You'd think Eli would have registered what Jack said.
Factual error: The bad guys talks in German to Jack Bauer, posing as a German weapon dealer. But the German dialogue is very hard to understand, full of errors and with heavy accents - especially from Jack. After the first sentence his cover would be blown.
00:32:40 - 00:33:15
Continuity mistake: There's dialogue between Palmer and Novick in a hotel room with blinds pulled shut over the windows which leads up to Palmer asking, "Tell me again what I've been doing, Mike?" To which Novick responds, "Telling the truth." At this point the camera pans from Novick to Palmer before going into a cut-shot closeup of Palmer. Now look carefully at the background. The curtains are lit up from behind by sunlight. Keep watching. As the closeup shot pans slightly, you can see a sunny day and a building outside of an open window. This scene is supposed to take place less than an hour before midnight and with Senator Palmer hidden away from sight in order to maintain the ruse of his "death" in the explosion.
Plot hole: Day 8: Renee mentions that after her previous sting operation with the FBI against Vladimir Laitanan, he had major facial reconstruction surgery, but in all of the photographs of said operation she shows CTU New York, Vladimir looks exactly the same as he does now.
Add timeCubs Fan
Continuity mistake: Mike Novick and Senator Palmer are outside the car at Dr Ferragamo's office building when his office explodes. As they get back in the car, you can see over the shoulder of whichever gets into the rear, passenger-side. There is no one in the driver's seat, but when Palmer says, "Let's go," the car moves off immediately.
Continuity mistake: When Jack is at the powerstation he checks his watch. It is 19:12:26, and it takes 1 min 57 seconds until we see the timer (yellow clock), which shows 19:13:47 and not 19:14:23 which it should be as the show is in real time. This is only a mistake if we consider agent Jack Bauer's watch as being accurate, but given how time-critical a lot of his work is, you wouldn't expect him to be casual about the time.
Character mistake: Near the start of the episode, Curtis asks how many square miles are affected by the blackout, and is told "approximately 8." A few minutes later, Sarah states that the blackout area is "everything within an 8 mile radius." These are vastly different amounts. An 8 mile radius would cover approximately 201 square miles.
00:02:25 - 00:06:55
Continuity mistake: When Agent Walker enters the building where Matobo is being held, Chloe tells her on com the stairway is to Agent Walker's left, she then immediately goes to the door to her right to enter the stairwell to let Jack Tony and Bill in from the roof.
Plot hole: The director of CDC informs the cabinet that the biological weapon at hand is a "prion variant indigenous to the East Congo" and refers to it as a "strain". A prion is a protein, not a bacterium, so it cannot be indigenous to a certain place and cannot belong to any strain. More importantly, prion diseases are not known to be transmissible in an airborne fashion (Mad Cow and Kuru, also prion diseases, are transmitted by ingestion), which kinda takes the air out of the threat. However, the description of prion disease symptoms and the example of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease as being caused by prions are accurate.
Factual error: The head scientist tells Tony that the pathogen can survive 2 hours and longer after to host's death. Assuming it is either virus or prion (a protein), it wouldn't be alive to begin with and could effectively remain in Jack's body indefinitely.
Other mistake: In the car Jack practises his cover story posing as a German arms dealer. But when he mentions his fake name Ernst Meier he says it in the English way, not in the German one. No man with German language knowledge would say it in this very wrong way, and it would give him away immediately.
Plot hole: In the scene when Jack and Nicole isolate the Singers, Jack is informed that they've been tested on site, and the results were negative for the virus, less than 15 minutes after being isolated. However, later in the day the results take several hours to be made available, and have to be processed elsewhere, in a lab.
Plot hole: Jack is informed that experimental treatment using stem cells from a genetically compatible donor is being developed that might be able to cure his condition. Stem cells are used to treat diseases where a cell type in the patient's body malfunctions, such as insulin-producing beta cells in diabetes, or where injury has killed cells that do not regenerate, such as in spinal cord injury. In these cases stem cells can replace the damaged cells and make sense as therapy (bone marrow transplant as leukemia treatment is one real such treatment). Prions (which is what the show calls the bioagent) and bacteria (which is how the show describes the bioagent) cannot be cured by stem cells, since the cause of the disease is not damaged or defective cells. Even if the disease damaged brain cells and stem cells cured that, it would resume later since the causative agent is still there.
New this month Visible crew/equipment: Just after Kevin is executed, you see the assassin walk off to screen left. However you see movement in the rear view mirror of the car on the far right hand side of the screen, evidently a crew member since everyone has been killed.
Audio problem: When we see the timer for the bomb on the plane, you hear the beep to indicate each second it clicks down. However, we see the timer say 24 seconds. We hear several beeps and 7 seconds later the timer says 20 seconds. The key point of the program being real time, so the timer should be on 17 at least.
Factual error: Mid-air collisions are almost always prevented by Airborne Collision Avoidance Systems which have been incorporated in all commercial aircraft since at least 1973. These systems are independent of ground control. These planes would not have collided.
Other mistake: Mason asks Nina the ETA on the tactical teams, to which she responds "Five on the Alpha, Eight on the Beta." There's a timecheck 3 minutes later, and after the break they still haven't arrived. Team Alpha continues to be more and more late than estimated. Jack begins to break into a van, still no tactical team has arrived. Jack kills Victor Drazen at the 17:47 time check, still no back up. They finally show up at around the 31 minute mark.
00:08:00 - 00:21:15sam_sullivan
Continuity mistake: When Michelle shoots the escaping hotel customer, her gun shows a jammed shell casing while she points her gun at him. The jammed casing wasn't there after she fired her final warning shots and disapears suddenly just before she shoots him down.
Continuity mistake: When Agent Aaron Pierce steps out of the helicopter, the right half of his face is severely wounded, with lots of blood and a bandage on it. 12 minutes later, when he is back in the Presidential house, he's talking with Miss. Logan and his face is completely clean, with not a single scratch or sign of wounds on his right half of the face.
00:12:55 - 00:25:00
Revealing mistake: When Farhad Hassan brings the press ID for Meredith Reed to security, you see the guard walk through the metal detector wearing his police belt, but the metal detector does not go off, showing that it's either not real, or not turned on.
Continuity mistake: When Curtis Manning is chasing Mary-Ann Taylor out of CTU, you see Mary-Ann exiting through a solid grey door marked by an EXIT sign in a wall which looks like concrete. As she passes through the door, you can see sunlight on her from almost directly above. In the next shot Mary-Ann is seen exiting through a glass door in a wall of glass panels. Unless there is a section of CTU's roof missing, the room she exits from in the second shot is not the room she exits to a few seconds earlier in the first shot.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Wayne and Fox are in Sherry's house searching for the pill container, right before Sherry asks, "What's going on here?" Wayne is seen wearing latex gloves. The camera then cuts to Sherry. When it cuts back to Wayne, his gloves have magically disappeared.
Continuity mistake: In the season finale of 24: Day 7 when Tony is torturing Alan Wilson and Jack comes in and shoots Tony in the shoulder, we can see Wilson raise his hands while lying on the floor with his legs to his left. Wilson remains in this position when Jack shoots Tony in the knuckles. Directly after the shot of Jack shooting Tony in the hand, we can see Wilson sitting cross-legged. With the time elapsed, he had no time to change into his position that quickly.
Character mistake: In the scene where Chloe uses traffic video to get the license plate number off the van that takes Jack and Dina Araz to Habib Marwan, Tony is seen calling the field teams with the plate number, saying that it's "Charlie-Victor Alpha-Three-Two-Two." But the plate reads "6CVA322" so he should've said, "Six-Charlie-Victor-Alpha-Three-Two-Two."
Plot hole: The head scientist tells Tony that they need Jack's organs to reconstitute that pathogen since there is not enough of it in the sample. Assuming it's a virus, even a small sample could easily be grown in the lab to yield large amounts of the virus. Assuming it's a prion, they don't even need a sample since the could simply build it again from scratch so long as they knew the protein sequence (which is a likely assumption). In either case, Jack is unnecessary.
Character mistake: When Chloe is talking to Arlo about the call Jack made to Meredith Reed, Chloe says that the call was made to Meredith's cell phone. But at Meredith's office, a coworker tells her the call is waiting (implying Jack called the office instead of Meredith directly), and once in her private office, she picks up the receiver of her land line. With all the phone tracing technology CTU has at its disposal, Chloe should be able to distinguish between the two.

Other mistake: During the explosion from the tape recorder, there is a very short explosion shot recycled from a previous season (when Christopher locks Jack in a bunker and tries to kill him with a bomb placed in a clipboard). This old footage is also seen when that tape recorder explosion is shown on recaps of the event in season 6.
Continuity mistake: When president Taylor asks Olivia to be her acting Chief of Staff, Allison rests her head on her hand, with only her elbow on the couch. In the next shot, her arm is suddenly resting on the couch instead. There's a straight cut between the two shots, so she didn't have time to move.
Continuity mistake: When the terrorist keeping an eye on Kim bends over to move his baggage for other people to sit down, Kim notices his neck is bleeding from him confronting and killing the FBI agent watching her (which she doesn't know). However, in the last 15 minutes of hour 5:00AM to 6:00AM, when he kills the FBI agent, he doesn't receive a scratch.
