Trivia: Carrie is carrying a small bunch of violets in this Parisian montage. What is interesting is that in France, traditionally, violets are the flowers that the husband gives his wife when he has disappointed her, or they have had a fight. Symbolically, the violets that Carrie bought for herself represent that she is continually disappointed by Aleksandr.
Trivia: During the scenes in the department store, they were filming at the real Barneys. Also, the blindfold that Charlotte is wearing is from Burberry. The show asked if they had Burberry blindfolds, and they didn't make them at that time. But they then tailor-made a Burberry blindfold, just for Charlotte to use in these scenes.
Trivia: When Carrie is typing on her computer, she changes the question mark to a period. The moment she does this, there is no more computer typing shown in the entire series, until the very last moment in the final montage. This was done to signify that Carrie had stopped questioning her life.
Trivia: When Samantha runs into Phoebe on the street, Phoebe is really Geri Halliwell, one of the Spice Girls (Ginger Spice). At the same time that they were filming this scene in front of the SoHo House, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and David Beckham were actually inside the SoHo House as well.
Trivia: Aleksander's kitchen set was beautifully designed, but they forgot to include any ovens or a refrigerator. They didn't realize this until they were filming this scene. So they had to use a 'lit-up shelf' as a pretend oven, for Aleksander's character to use convincingly.
Trivia: Concerning the entire Wall Street/Stock Market scenes; Sex And The City was the very first production to film in the New York Stock Exchange since the movie Wall Street. They filmed these scenes at the actual NYSE. Because it was after 9-11, every piece of camera equipment, prop, costume, etc. had to be sniffed by bomb-sniffing dogs. This was the very first non-official event that was let into the Stock Market after 9-11. Every extra that you can see on the Stock Market floor was an actual trader. Also, Sex And The City got to open the real Stock Market, on the day the show premiered.

Trivia: According to the commentary, the show was always careful not to locate the day and year on screen. But in this scene, when Miranda's Tivo has broken, it was necessary to use the real date. The date shown on the Tivo screen was actually the date the show first aired (right around that week).
Trivia: This traffic jam scene was filmed in the 23rd and 5th avenue area of NYC. The City allowed the show to have the entire city block/area roped off, in order to create a realistic traffic jam. While they were filming this scene, Sex And The City 'owned' the whole block.
Trivia: When Carrie comes downstairs at Aleksandr's, she finds his entire staff busy at work. These actors are speaking Hindi, Japanese, and French, individually. They are also fluent in these languages. A 5-page monologue had to be written for each actor, and translated for this scene.
Trivia: The music during the Carrie montage in Paris was actually written by Mikhail Baryshnikov. It's called 'Carrie's Theme', and is the same music that Aleksandr played to Carrie on his piano in 'The Ick Factor' episode. The show had the music scored by an orchestra, and used it during these scenes. Michael Patrick King wrote the entire montage, with this music in mind.
Trivia: When Carrie and Jeremy are having their picnic at the mental institution, a man suddenly runs by yelling, and being chased by two people. The man running is actually Michael Patrick King. The woman chasing him is Grace Naughton, the Associate Producer. And the other man helping is Key, one of the Security Guys from the show.
Trivia: According to the commentary; when Carrie is looking at her high school yearbook, you can see Cindy Chupack (the writer for this episode) and Sabrina Wright on the yearbook page. Sabrina Wright is the Property Master for the show, and they have used her name for a couple of generic book titles, etc. in Sex And The City.
Trivia: These basketball game scenes were actually filmed in the real Madison Square Gardens. In order to use the name 'The Knicks' for the show, they had to agree to film at MSG, which is their home. They also used the real Knicks City Dancers. But the Knicks players running around are not the real Knicks. They are actually called 'The Knickolites'.
Trivia: After Lexi falls out of the window, there is an outdoor snow montage. This was the only time in the entire series, where they just filmed the city without one of the girls in it. All of these montage scenes were from the show itself, they didn't use stock footage. They filmed during an actual snow storm in New York City.
Trivia: The coffee shop has always been a set, on a sound stage. But in this scene, the girls are leaving the coffee shop to walk out on the street. Sex And The City had to build a real coffee shop exterior, so that the girls could walk out into the real world.
