Plot hole: In this episode Carrie runs into Aidan, who now has what looks to be about a 6 month old baby (Tate). This doesn't seem possible, as Carrie and Aidan would have only broken up about a year ago, and Miranda was around 6 months pregnant when they broke up. Brady is only about 5 months old at this point in the series, leaving Aidan only roughly 8 months to have this baby - but Aidan lay in bed for about a month and then dated Nina Katz for awhile. Timeline just doesn't seem to fit.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie is telling Alex about her Parisian fans and the party she's been invited to, her cigarette pack not only changes position in her hand with her coffee cup, but also disappears and reappears several times.
Plot hole: When Carrie runs into Aiden on the street, he tells her that he 'married another furniture designer'. Although Carrie is happy for him, it doesn't seem likely that she wouldn't have known about this. Steve and Aiden are business partners and close friends, and Miranda is very close to Steve with their baby. Carrie would have undoubtedly heard about Aiden's marriage through the 'friends grapevine' before that, as news that big wouldn't just slip under the radar. Someone would have told her, so it isn't logical that she is just now finding out about Aiden's marriage.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the show, when Carrie visits Jeremy at the psychiatric facility, they are sitting outside having a picnic. As they are talking, notice Carrie's necklace. It is a bolero-type necklace and the red stones on the end move up the necklace to near the clasp and then back down into her cleavage. Then they go back up again.
Other mistake: When the plastic surgeon is giving Samantha a breast exam, you can tell that he isn't really examining her breast. He is actually moving his hand in a circular motion in the air above her breast pretending to give her an exam, but is touching her hospital gown instead.
Continuity mistake: In this episode, Brady has the Chicken Pox. But when Robert visits Miranda at home and picks up Brady, there is absolutely no sign at all that he has Chicken Pox. It takes awhile to get over Chicken Pox, and for them to fade. So even if Brady is recovering from having Chicken Pox recently, he would still show signs of it. It couldn't go away that fast, and it's way too soon for Brady to be completely clear.
Character mistake: When Charlotte is looking at her wedding announcement in the New York Times, there is a close-up shot of part of the article. It says, in reference to Charlotte: "She is a writer and editor at Fashions Magazine in Manhattan". This is not true, nor has it ever been true. Perhaps the producers of the show threw that in, to see if anyone would notice. Also, the same article mentions: "The bride, who will be keeping her name..." and yet we never really hear Charlotte use the name York instead of Goldenblatt.
Continuity mistake: After Carrie rents the car and takes it back, she and Miranda are sitting on the couch talking. As Carrie says something, she turns her head to the right, looking straight at Miranda. When Miranda replies, "Well, that's one option", you can still see Carrie's head in the shot, turned towards Miranda on the right. But then in the next shot of Carrie, she is facing straight ahead and talking in the middle of a sentence.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie has left the dessert place and is walking in the street; just before she sees the small child, there are two extras (male and female) behind her using a single umbrella. After the small child hits Carrie on the head, you can see the same two extras behind her without an umbrella. When the small child sticks out her tongue at Carrie, you can again see the two extras right behind Carrie, still not using an umbrella. When Carrie looks back again, just before stepping in dog poo, suddenly the two extras are completely gone, and the street is almost empty. Then when Carrie does step in the dog poo, the two extras are seen again farther back, again using the umbrella. In the next shot, a close-up of Carrie, the two extras are right behind her again, and passing her, without using an umbrella. At this point Carrie speaks to an older man coming from in front of her, and the two extras have completely disappeared from the street again, even though they have just passed her. This entire sequence took place in a very short period of time, and was obviously edited together.
Continuity mistake: When Miranda is running in the streets looking for Mary, there is a close-up shot of her face. You can see that it's raining heavily, as the rain is apparent in the scene. But during the rest of that sequence, as she is out in the streets, there are no other signs of rain, or of people being affected by rain. There is just snow on the ground.
Plot hole: When there is a close-up shot of Charlotte and Harry's wedding announcement in the New York Times, there is a large article to the left and above. If you read what it says, it appears to actually be a tongue-in-cheek wedding announcement referencing Mr. Big and Natasha's former wedding. The college information is off (Rutgers instead of Tulane), but some of the other information alludes to their previous wedding in the Hamptons, and how they met. Also the name Natasha is mentioned several times. Yet we know that this wedding happened some time ago, so it couldn't possibly be running in that day's New York Times.
Continuity mistake: According to the commentary, one of the problems with this final season was that all of the babies used for Miranda had grown to the level where they were crying almost all of the time. Therefore, they had to switch babies a lot, even within scenes.
Visible crew/equipment: When Charlotte leaves her apartment building on the way to the party, she puts on large sunglasses. You can see what appears to be camera equipment, in the reflection of the plastic lenses. There are two white squares, which look like a camera light and filter screen.
Continuity mistake: In one of the deleted scenes for this episode, Carrie has to take her laptop out of her purse in order to make room for the garment. She throws the laptop on the bed, with the 'Apple' symbol facing down. But just after that, the laptop is shown lying on the bed with the 'Apple' symbol facing up. To my knowledge, there is no 'Apple' logo on the bottom of the laptop.
Continuity mistake: In the first shot of the diner as the girls are waiting for Carrie to arrive, the baby photo of Charlotte's daughter is not visible on the table. When Carrie comes in, there is a clear shot of the entire table, and the baby photo is still nowhere in sight. But in the shot where Carrie sits down at the table with the girls, the baby photo is suddenly sitting upright on the table near Charlotte, and fully visible. There was no time for this to happen, as they are just sitting down. Carrie is still hugging her friends (Charlotte) at the table.
Visible crew/equipment: When Carrie and Aleksander arrive at the museum, he turns to close the cab door and his back is facing us. You can see the outline of a long cable running vertically down the center of his back, protruding from under his jacket. This cable goes from his neck down to the bottom flap of his jacket, and must be part of his mic.
Continuity mistake: When Charlotte and Anthony are talking on the park bench, Charlotte is looking at Anthony to her right as she says "No next, it doesn't work like that". She then turns her head back to face forward, when she is through speaking. But the very next shot, Charlotte has her head turned towards the right, and is facing Anthony again.
Continuity mistake: When Steve is wiping Miranda's face with the baby wipes, there are still a few smudges on her forehead. But after she chases him across the room and back again, suddenly the smudges are gone, and her forehead and face are entirely clear of anything. She did not have a chance to wipe her skin at all.
Continuity mistake: The amount of hair Samantha shaves off before Smith comes in increases without her shaving any more. She takes off two chunks, he comes in, and when he starts shaving his head, she's suddenly buzzed to a number 2 cut on a whole part of her head.
Continuity mistake: Just before Carrie sees the mouse, she sets her two wine glasses down on the counter in the middle. The mouse appears and the shot cuts to her screaming, then to Alecsander slamming the frying pan down on the mouse, and the two glasses have moved to one side, out of the way of the pan.
Deliberate mistake: At RAW, just as the host starts showing the girls to their table, there is a lady at the bottom right corner of the screen whom you can see is only pretending to eat her food. She puts it up to her mouth, pretends to take a bite, then moves it away again.
Audio problem: When Big calls Carrie and is leaving a message after Carrie has long since moved to Paris, Charlotte is there. She picks up the phone and says "Hi, it's Charlotte", but her mouth does not match the words. Her mouth says something like "Hey" not "Hi".
Continuity mistake: When Carrie enters the Dior store from the rain, she slips and falls. When she first starts falling, her arms are outstretched widely above her head. But the very next shot suddenly shows her hitting the floor, with her arms down in front of her to break the fall. There was no time for her to have moved her arms that quickly.
Revealing mistake: When Jeremy comes to visit Carrie at her apartment, he is wearing a white polo style Lacoste Izod shirt. There is a noticeable rip or small hole in the upper shoulder of the shirt, visible on screen. This was intentional by the wardrobe department. They wanted to show that despite Jeremy being an older, Ivy League kind of guy, he came back still dressed similar to how Carrie would have seen him in high school.
Plot hole: When Carrie calls the girls from Aleksandr's couch, she is wearing one outfit. In voice-over, she says she stayed at his apartment for 4 days. But then when she finally arrives home, she is wearing a completely different outfit. How would she have so many clothes to wear, when she didn't expect to be away from home for 4 days? She wasn't carrying any luggage or other clothing with her when she came home, either.
Visible crew/equipment: When Carrie is entering the NYSE, she has to go through a metal screener. When the security guards are using the wands on her, she spreads her arms, and you can then see some sort of horizontal line or wire sticking out from under her dress, around the waist. There also appears to be something above the wire, showing through the material. She seems to be wearing some sort of contraption under her dress, and when she moves, the entire object moves loosely. Possibly this is her microphone and attached wire?
Plot hole: After Carrie has her strenuous night with the 'fling', she is shown lying flat on her apartment floor in the morning, as if unable to move very much. But there is a cup of coffee next to her, obviously bought from somewhere in the city. Carrie is so disabled from her injury that when she reaches the church, she is hunched over, can barely walk, and Stanford has to help her along. She is affected a great deal from her 'sex sprain' during the entire wedding. So how is it that she was able to get up and go buy a cup of coffee outside of her apartment in the morning, when she was so injured she couldn't do much but lie flat on the floor when Charlotte called her? It doesn't seem likely that Carrie would have gone to all that effort to go out and buy coffee, when she is so immobile. She wasn't able to get around well enough for a small errand.
