Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the episode whilst Buffy is fighting Caleb with the scythe, right after he says to her, "You're not slipping out of this fight, girl. Can't you see? You can't stop me. I can just keep going back for more. It's like being reborn," and throws her into a wall, the position of the scythe changes constantly between shots.THGhost
Continuity mistake: Sunnydale apparently has docks ('Consequences' and 'Surprise') and is quite close to a beach ('Go Fish'), but when Sunnydale is destroyed in 'Chosen', we see an overhead shot of the crater and it appears to be in the middle of the desert, far from any coastline.Shay
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the episode when Buffy is running along the rooftops trying to catch up to the school bus, we see an overhead shot of one of the buildings collapsing just before she jumps off it. In this shot, Buffy is not holding the scythe that she used to kill Caleb. Once she jumps the rooftop however, she is holding it in her right hand.THGhost
Continuity mistake: During Anya's pep talk to the Potentials, Andrew draws crude illustrations to visualize what she is saying. One the second page that uses to draw a picture of the sun, the top of the previous page that's folded over the back of the board changes from being folded straight to folded at an angle between shots.THGhost
Continuity mistake: When Buffy is discussing the Turok-Han with the potential Slayers in her dining room, one of them says that it almost killed Buffy. Rona then spreads both her arms out and says, "What chance do we have?" In the following shot, her left arm is down by her side and her right arm is resting on the dining room table.THGhost
Continuity mistake: In episode 'Same Place, Same Time', Gnarl cuts Dawn across the stomach paralysing her and ripping her shirt, but when Buffy and Xander are carying her home there is no tear in her shirt or any blood. Also when Buffy goes back to kill Gnarl he tears her shirt but seconds later the rip has gone.
Continuity mistake: Spike tells Buffy about drugs the Initiative would give him when his chip started firing after he was first captured. This is wrong in two ways: firstly, we saw most of Spike's time in captivity, and he escaped before they could drug him, and secondly, he didn't even know he had a chip until he escaped and tried to kill Willow.Shay
Continuity mistake: When Buffy has told the Scoobies her plan about going down into the Hellmouth, Willow starts talking about how it's beyond anything she's ever done. As she says this she is looking in Buffy's direction, but as she continues and the camera cuts away, her reflection can be seen in a nearby mirror - she is suddenly looking straight ahead of her and then turns to look in Giles' direction. She is then suddenly looking back in Buffy's direction as the camera cuts back to her.THGhost
Continuity mistake: Shortly after the opening credits we see Buffy, Dawn and Xander driving to the new high school. As they're talking, the rest of the credits roll by onscreen. Just after "Producer: Marc David Alpert" is shown, there is a side-angle shot of the car and you can see Xander's left arm resting outside on the open door window. But in the following shot he has both his hands on the steering wheel.THGhost
Continuity mistake: When Anya is sneaking into Spikes room after she closes the door the shot goes to spike and the sheet is lying square across his stomach and the camera goes back to Anya she then walks over to the chest of drawers and we see spike in the shot and the sheet is now lying at an angle so we can see his hip.julie sheridan
Continuity mistake: When Anya leads Andrew away to their station in the school, she goes from having her right arm over his shoulders to having her left arm over her shoulders between shots. She is off camera for a second, but not long enough to move to the opposite side of him and change hands.Shay
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode when the Potentials are fighting the ubervamps, when they see the second one they move away from it. You can see in the bottom right hand corner of the screen that the ubervamp already has a Potential. In the next shot you see it jump down and grab a Potential.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Xander and Anya have had their "one more time" and are lying in the cellar bed talking, the shot is on Xander and he is speaking. When he finishes speaking Anya starts, but the camera stays focussed on him, however, you can see part of Anya's face in the shot and her mouth is not moving despite the fact she is talking.
Continuity mistake: When Willow is out with Kennedy, Willow tells her that she doesn't get why she likes her. As she says "I still don't get it", she pulls her hair back over her left ear. Then when she says "Why you like me" in the following shot, her hair is hanging back down over her left ear again.THGhost
Continuity mistake: When Buffy is giving her speech about being chosen, there is a shot of Andrew sitting on the couch next to Xander and Anya, but in several of the shots of the Potentials he can be seen standing on the other side of the room in front of the curtains. It's definitely him - his face isn't visible, but the clothes are the exact same.Shay
Continuity mistake: In the very last episode, Chosen, in the shot right before Spike's amulet sends out the blast through the roof, you can see an ubervamp just about to pin him against the wall and in the next shot he is standing in the middle of the area backing up toward the stairs and then he sends out the blast. There would never be enough time between the shots for Spike to break free and then go and stand in the middle of the floor.
Continuity mistake: In many historical flashbacks, most notably Spike's and Anya's, hair and wigs differ greatly from previous flashbacks or episodes. The director even discusses it during the commentary on Lies My Parents Told Me, saying that he doesn't understand why the wigs aren't consistent.
