Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Nightmares - S1-E10

Corrected entry: In the scene where the Bogeyman comes down the hospital corridor and Buffy (who has been turned into a vampire as part of her nightmare) attacks him, she steps into direct sunlight, then runs and jumps the bogeyman in a sunny corridor, without any apparent ill effects. (00:38:30)

Correction: She's been made into a vampire by the boy's Nightmares warping reality. Vampires in his Nightmares might be able to walk in sunlight just fine.

Captain Defenestrator

Teacher's Pet - S1-E4

Corrected entry: Doctor Gregory is giving the class a lecture about ants. But he projects an image of a beetle onto the wall behind him. (00:01:40)

Correction: Actually there was a beetle and an ant in the projection behind him, he even points to the ant just before he turns the projector off.

Correction: Earlier in the episode Giles calls Angel on the phone. The audience is previously unaware of the info that Giles knows his phone number, so there is no reason we would know whether or not his address is also known.

Angel - S1-E7

Corrected entry: In the scene where Buffy is walking away from Willow and Xander to leave the Bronze, you see her holding a dark jacket right after she feels Angel's presence behind her. As she is walking down the street you can see she is wearing a dark jacket, either dark brown or black. The following scene, she is still walking but wearing a light baby blue colored jacket. (00:03:20)

cgat

Correction: This is a lighting issue. If you look closely, the jacket is slightly reflective and if there is shadowing due to angles or low light the color is indeterminate.

Correction: She says "get in, come on".

Correction: She was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers, which makes this not really trivia.

Maria Santos

Correction: Though it appears to be a window due to the angle of the shot, it is in fact a square light, and it can be seen through an actual window that it is night time.

The Harvest (2) - S1-E2

Corrected entry: On the night of the Harvest, Cordelia says that she is going to the Bronze - its a Friday. Strangely enough, everyone seems to be back at school the next day - a Saturday. (00:18:20 - 00:42:50)

Phoebe

Correction: There is nothing in the school scene after the Harvest stating that it is the following day. It could be the Monday.

The Harvest (2) - S1-E2

Corrected entry: The stake Xander uses to kill Jesse disappears immediately afterward. It's not in Xander's hand, but if it was buried in Jesse's chest it would have clattered to the ground as he turned to dust. (00:41:10)

Phoenix

Correction: If a stake in in a vampires chest & not touching another person then the stake also turns to dust (this has happened to various other vampires in the series).

Angel - S1-E7

Corrected entry: In the episode "Angel" in series one, in the best tradition of old Western movies, Darla seems to have a limitless supply of bullets in the final shoot out - despite never reloading her guns. (00:38:10 - 00:39:05)

Correction: She fires less than thirty shots and each of her two guns has fifteen. Angel stakes her before she needs to reload.

Teacher's Pet - S1-E4

Corrected entry: At the end of the episode, "Teachers Pet," Buffy picks Dr. Gregory's glasses from off the floor, opens the closet where his lab coat is hanging and places the glasses in the pocket. As she closes the door, the camera moves to the bottom of the closet and you can see about four or five bug eggs, one of them cracks open and then the show ends. What happened with the eggs?

Correction: We don't know, but there are numerous possibilities. The simplest one is that without the care of their mother, the eggs or the newborns were not able to survive.

Phoenix

I Robot, You Jane - S1-E8

Corrected entry: How does Buffy manage to follow Dave to the CRD building so easily when he's driving and she isn't? Even with Buffy's superspeed she can't run as fast as a car - she would lose Dave in a few minutes.

Correction: We don't know the route Dave took from the high school to CRD. Dave has to follow the rules of the road such as stopping at red lights & not endangering other road users. Buffy can also use short cuts such as cutting through gardens & other types of property.

The Harvest (2) - S1-E2

Corrected entry: Cordelia tells Buffy there's no cover charge to get into the Bronze, but later that episode, right before the vampires attack the Bronze, the bouncer is taking money from people on their way in. (00:18:20 - 00:31:50)

Correction: The bouncer demands ID from the approaching vampire pack and gets upset when they don't show him any, but he didn't get any ID from Buffy or other patrons. It's possible that the bouncer has an understood relationship with underage clubgoers: pass over some cash instead of ID. Buffy would have learned about this earlier from Cordelia (after Cordelia insulted Willow but before Buffy went to speak to her).

Phoenix

The Harvest (2) - S1-E2

Corrected entry: When Buffy is gathering supplies in her bedroom, we see all of the usual vampire fighting supplies, such as crosses, holy water, and stakes. In addition to these, she has a jar of communion wafers. What are these supposed to do against a vampire?

Correction: According to Dracula and other legends, the Host repulses vampires just like crosses do (though there is no evidence that they actually harm them, perhaps explaining why they are not seen anywhere else on the show).

Phoenix

Correction: No it isn't - you can see it in the shot on Buffy's face when she is pinning Cordelia - the stake tip is slanted like the table leg.

Phoenix

Correction: Giles tells Buffy that HE has no instruction manual. The Slayer Handbook is for the Slayer, not the Watcher.

Prophecy Girl - S1-E12

Corrected entry: The Master is described as a vampire, albeit a very old one, but when staked, his skeleton remains so that it can be used in the next series. Why doesn't it turn to dust like every other vampire?

Correction: The Master is the oldest vampire known - thats exactly why. He's so old, his body is too powerful to simply collapse into dust with the poke of a piece of wood. This was actually stated in one episode of Buffy, although not in such mundane terms.

Phoebe

Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight - S1-E11

Corrected entry: In 'Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight' Giles says that it's a lack of people noticing her added to the mystical strength of the Hellmouth that turned Marcy invisible, but at the end of the episode it's revealed that there's a whole classroom of people who have turned invisible. How did all of them turn invisible without the Hellmouth's influence?

Shay

Correction: At the end of the series you learn that there are other Hellmouths. Giles even states that there's one in Cleveland.

MoonFaery

Correction: They were getting ready to go on, and as for the audience they were waiting for the show to start.

Halloween - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: Willow is turned into a ghost. Throughout the entire episode, she can't touch anything (can't turn the pages of a book, etc.), yet towards the end when she and Giles go to Ethan's shop, and she leaves, you can hear that she opened and closed the door, even though she can walk through walls and can't actually touch the door. The curtain moves when she leaves too. (00:34:05)

Bargaining (1) - S6-E1

[After saving Giles from a vampire.]
Spike: Awww, poor Watcher. Did your life flash before your eyes? Cup of tea, cup of tea, almost-got-shagged, cup of tea?

Chosen answer: "So goes the nation" seems to have been used on many occasions, with various different US states in the "As .... goes" section. Most commonly it seems to be California that's considered to lead the way, but probably most other states have appeared in the lead role at some point or another. Other things have also been used - no less a person that Pope John Paul II said "As the family goes, so goes the nation...". The origin of the quote format is unclear - in US politics it goes back into the 19th century, when it was Maine that held the title spot, but, while no definitive origin is known, it seems highly likely that it goes back considerably further than that.
