Trivia: Jennifer Aniston's actual last name is Anastassakis but her family changed it to Aniston when they moved to the United States. If you watch TOW Chandler and Monica's Wedding, Jennifer's actual last name is used for the Greek couple having their wedding in the episode.
Trivia: Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis starred together in the movie The Whole Nine Yards. While making the movie, Matthew made a bet with Bruce that the movie would open in the top position at the box office. If it did this (which it consequently did) Bruce had to star in an episode of Friends for no fee.
Trivia: The spare room (Rachel's) in Monica's apartment has a wall right opposite the door, which serves absolutely no purpose except to block the view into the room from the living room. The bedroom set isn't always built, just when needed, so having that wall makes life much easier. It's completely illogical though, as it's too thin to be a supporting wall, and where it is makes getting into the room a pain.

Trivia: Virtually the only time that any apartment doors are locked is when it is important to the episode. For example, Monica's apartment door is always unlocked, even when they go out or she and Chandler are having sex, but in "The One Where Underdog Gets Away" (series 1), it's locked when there is all the "got the keys?" business. Also, Ross' apartment is never locked, except for in "The One With Phoebe's Birthday Dinner" (series 9), when they lock Emma in, and in "The One With The Engagement Picture" (S7 E4) when Phoebe has the key and unlocks the door, then Ross demands it back.
Trivia: In The One With The Superbowl Part 2 the gang are down at the movie set of Marcel's film. Joey asks Phoebe to walk with him so he can show off his acting skills to the director. If you look closely you can see that the 'director' and the people surrounding him are the actual producers of Friends - Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane.
Trivia: Phoebe loses her job as a singer at Central Perk. As a protest she sits outside singing for money. Rachel comes out to give Phoebe a cup of coffee. They talk for a while and Phoebe reveals that one of her donations for playing "Smelly cat" was a condom. A moment later a guy comes running to get back the condom, played by Giovanni Ribisi. He's not meant to be her brother, as her brother says when she meets him that he's never been to the city before - just a random incidence of an actor playing different roles across series.
Trivia: Rachel says about her mother who thinks about a divorce and wants to be like her daughter : "Well, couldn't she have just copied my haircut?" A little reference to the fact that the Rachel haircut was one of the most copied one at the time.
Trivia: Phoebe's twin sister "Ursula" actually existed before Phoebe, as a character in another U.S. sitcom, Mad About You. In the first part of "The One With Two Parts," the two characters who come into Central Perk, thinking Phoebe is Ursula, are regular characters from that show.
Trivia: Many famous people are mentioned in the show and some end up guest starring! Two examples of this include Ross's List from Series 3, which includes Winona Ryder, who guest stars as Rachel's friend in Series 7. Also, Joey and Ross mention their favourite movie is Die Hard, and Bruce Willis guest stars in Series 6 as Ross's girlfriend's dad ("Hey, Mr. Stevens, you look like that guy out of Die Hard!"). That is also true for Susan Sarandon and Elle MacPherson.
Trivia: In the scene where Ross has just explained to Joey & Chandler that he has to give up Marcel, there is an advert break. Immediately after the break, the shot shows the three guys sitting on the sofa in the coffee house. If you look at the positions that their hands are in, they are mimicking either "See no evil", "Hear no evil" or "Speak no evil". I think this was done deliberately but since there isn't much laughter, I don't think the studio audience spotted it.
Trivia: In the "One where Nana dies twice" at the end of the episode the cast looks over pictures of Ross and Monica's Nana. One of the pictures is labeled 'Me and the gang at Java Joe's'. Java Joe's was one of the name possibilities for Central Perk during the show's creation stage.
Trivia: When Joey and Rachel are looking for nametags to con their way into the convention, the name picked out for Rachel is Kate Miller. I just found it a bit odd that not a flicker of recognition passes across Joey's face, considering that was the name of Dina Meyer's character from a few seasons back who he was in love with.

Trivia: In series 10 there's an episode where Phoebe's getting rid of stuff in preparation for Mike moving in, and she dumps two horrendous 3D paintings on Monica and Rachel. I figured they were just created for that show, but in this episode, 4 series earlier, before Rachel goes out for her run we can actually see one of them in the background - nice to see a long term plot device being used. There's even a shot of one of the 3D pictures in the apartment Phoebe shares with her grandmother in season one, when she's calling information looking for her father. One of these paintings can also be been in season 5, the one with all the Thanksgivings, just after Joey scares Chandler wearing the turkey.
Trivia: The only 2 characters who have not kissed in the show are Monica and Joey. Rachel kissed Monica: to get their apartment back; Phoebe: so Phoebe could see how good a kisser Rachel was; Ross: well we all know that story!; Chandler: to hide that he and Monica were dating had to kiss all three girls after he made the mistake of just kissing Monica goodbye; Joey: the two briefly dated and first kissed in Barbados. Chandler has kissed Monica (of course), Rachel (while covering for his relationship with Monica), Phoebe (while covering for his relationship and also when on a fake date before revealing said relationship), Joey (New Year's Eve in season 1 when Chandler is complaining about not having anyone to kiss), and Ross (implied during Rachel's birthday party where he was very drunk). Ross has kissed Rachel (of course), Phoebe (when he found out his wife was a lesbian), Monica (when he was in college and thought he was kissing Rachel while she slept), Joey (when Joey had to kiss a man for a role and Ross wanted to help him), and Chandler (mentioned to have happened during Rachel's birthday when he was very drunk). Phoebe has kissed Ross (above), Chandler (above), Joey (testing his ability, pretending to be Ursula, after David leaves, etc.), Rachel (above), Monica (before leaving for London, albeit just a lip peck). Rachel - mentioned in this entry already.
Trivia: In "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross", originally shot before September 11, 2001, Chandler and Monica couldn't get on their flight for their honeymoon because Chandler said the word "bomb" in the airport. After the terrorist attacks on the U.S., the story was rewritten and re-shot. The original scenes for this story can be seen on the DVD.
Trivia: A bit too unlikely to be just a coincidence, but I can't work out the significance. The doctor who delivers Phoebe's triplets (the one who loves Fonzie) played the evil head of Wolfram and Hart in "Angel". The doctor who delivers Erica's twins in this episode also plays the evil head of Wolfram and Hart in "Angel" (after the death of the first guy).

Trivia: When the girls are out on the balcony discussing what the boys would be like in bed, their discussion foreshadows their future romantic entanglements. Phoebe speaks highly of Joey, Monica of Chandler, and Rachel of Ross. Although Phoebe and Joey were never technically together, they often acted as a pair.
Trivia: In many of the first episodes, there is a beam going from the ceiling to the floor in between the kitchen and the living room. You can see it when they show the door. In "The One with the Giant Poking Device" Ross actually runs into it. In the majority of the later episodes, the beam is non-existent. The beam became the trademark for director James Burrows. Whenever he returned to direct an episode, the crew intentionally added the beam.
Trivia: The joke in this episode, broadcast in 2002, about Richard having a tape of him having sex with Monica, Chandler watching the tape, and then Monica coming in and being furious that he hadn't noticed it wasn't her, plus getting annoyed about being taped over by Richard, is IDENTICAL to one in an episode of Coupling (UK version), broadcast in 2000.

Trivia: The scene where Rachel is on the balcony is the only scene in Friends in which Monica, Joey, Phoebe and Ross ALL appear together without Rachel and Chandler. Chandler was at the ATM vestibule, and Rachel was on the balcony. This scene begins with Phoebe singing "New York City has no power..."
Trivia: When Rachel thinks that she, Monica, and Chandler will be roommates, she sings, "Come and knock on our door," then Monica adds, "We'll be waiting for you," which are lyrics to the theme song for the 1970s-80s ABC sitcom 'Three's Company'.

Trivia: When The One That Could Have Been was divided into two parts on TV part 1 end credits shows fat Monica dancing to some music while eating some food. In the hour-long version you don't get to see the credits scene for the end of the first half.
Trivia: When viewing this episode on DVD compared to viewing it on Netflix, not only are a few shots deleted on the Netflix version, but there are also shots which had been filmed differently when Rachel returns after her first interview. On the DVD, she walks over to the table, puts her briefcase down on the chair and walks to the fridge, takes out a bottle of water...and then in a closeup Chandler asks her what happened while he's holding the newspaper. But in the Netflix version, Rachel walks over to the table, and just as she puts her briefcase down on the chair she stands behind the chair, and Chandler asks her what happened - all in the same wideshot, with the newspaper lying on the table.
