The Strength of the Wolf - S3-E4

Audio problem: One of the team members shoots a sentry on board a ship off a ladder attached to the deck hanging off the side of the ships hull. He shoots an unsurpassed Glock and the shot sounds suppressed. A muzzle flash can be seen too, another indicator it's unsuppressed. Their element of surprise would have been totally eliminated had this really happened. They've used suppressors before on their sidearms - doesn't make sense why they wouldn't now. (00:31:00)

Never Get Out of the Boat - S1-E16

Factual error: The team is in the briefing room, and they're being dispatched to Panatag Shoal. The picture of the island in the ops room has been modified from the original. The original real world picture shows very little vegetation. For this series they created a jungle to replace the water and sand shoal to make it fit their mission. The way the island is depicted in the series doesn't exist in reality. (00:30:20 - 00:31:27)

The Ones You Can't See - S3-E7

Other mistake: Before the Seals went on their counter-sniper operation they were briefed that the enemy snipers were going to be using SVD-63 Dragunov's which have a range of 800m. The two enemy snipers who were killed never had Dragunov's, they had standard bolt action type rifles without suppressors, hard to identify a specific brand. They engaged the Seals from a distance with unsuppressed weapons over a crowd of people and the crowd didn't hear a thing. This is a falsity, a 7.62mm shot can be heard for 3km. (00:37:26 - 00:38:00)

Medicate and Isolate - S2-E19

Factual error: One of the Seals is donning a night vision device, and he looks through his Eotech Exps optic and the dot appears red. That is incorrect a holographic sight or a red dot through night vision appears as a dot, there is no red color through night vision. Soldiers rely on their AN/PEQ-15 ATPIAL laser for targeting when they use night vision. (00:23:30 - 00:24:00)

Last Known Location - S3-E16

Character mistake: Lindell is referred to as Captain Lindell; however, on his office wall, he has a Meritorious Service Medal Award that references Captain Greyson Lindell, USMC. The fact Lindell is a Marine, he should be recognized as a Colonel and be wearing a USMC uniform, not a U.S. Navy uniform. (00:26:43)

Snag.1

Fair Winds and Following Seas - S6-E10

Factual error: The grave headstone for Benjamin Bellerow states Master SGT US Navy. There are no Sergeants in the Navy, only Chiefs. If the rank was correct it should have read US Marine Corps, US Army or US Air Force. (00:19:08)

Snag.1

Containment - S1-E11

Factual error: When they capture the trucks they first say that there is no nuclear material. But later find that the warheads are nuclear. A Geiger counter would pick up nuclear material from a warhead or a dirty bomb. Also, they are worried about the bombs being unstable. No way are the cores unstable. The conventional explosives could be. Why wouldn't they separate the explosives from the warhead? Finally, wouldn't you scout out the bridge before driving across? There are tons of loose boards.

Never Get Out of the Boat - S1-E16

Factual error: Seals arrange their weapons and gear according to the mission they are deployed on, CQB requires short compact weapons, so they'll go with H&K 416 with a 10.4" barrel or the H&K MP7, for open terrain missions they'll swap out their uppers in the H&K 416's and swap in the 14.5" barrels. Bravo team is on a jungle op where no CQB is expected however most of the guys are rolling with 10.4." Clay is the only one with the long distance set up. Sonny doesn't even have his MK46 SAW. (00:32:12 - 00:33:00)

Never Get Out of the Boat - S1-E16

Deliberate mistake: The Seal team is dispatched to an uninhabited island in the South China sea called Panatag Shoal. In the operations room the team is briefed that there is dense jungle. When the team gets there they're walking on paths laden with dry palm trees and paths 15ft wide. Dense jungle means you're walking through thick brush and using a machete to cut it. In reality Panatag Shoal has very little vegetation - it's a natural submerged bank which is covered by sand and rises from the bed of a body of water. (00:30:20 - 00:31:27)

Never Get Out of the Boat - S1-E16

Factual error: Clay is in a van, and he's looking at some men possibly standing guard. He uses his Eotech EXPS optic to zoom in on them. An Eotech optic is a zero power magnification optic, so looking through it is like looking through nothing. The only way it can be magnified is by adding a G33 3x or the newer G45 5x magnifier to the system. These magnifiers flip 90° and lock in place when magnification is needed or flip back when its not. Clay's rifle does not have a magnifier. (00:14:00 - 00:15:00)

Containment - S1-E11

Deliberate mistake: Sunny is the teams SAW (squad automatic weapon) gunner. He carries an FN MK46 which is a special operations version of the M249 SAW. The MK46 unlike the M249 only takes belt-fed ammunition from 100 or 200 round "nutsacks." On this mission Sunny is wearing a chest rig with STANAG mags and no nutsacks. He has no backpack for extra ammo either. He hands off his MK46 to the Jason whose staying behind and no nutsacks. Plus he doesn't take Jay's HK416 rifle in the swap. Usually people swap one for one. (00:31:15 - 00:32:00)

Ghosts of Christmas Future - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: Jason and his team have AKS-74U's in hand as they hit the target vehicles. Once their target escapes they start giving chase and their weapons disappear from their hands and as they're running no holster are visible with sidearms. Then once they reach the inside of a building they all have pistols in hand. Even if the sidearms were "hollywood tucked" into their pants they would've fallen out during their chase of the target. Plus military guys all use holsters. (00:33:42 - 00:35:00)

All Along the Watchtower: Part 2 - S3-E6

Factual error: The Seals use Surefire suppressors which reduce flash by 99%. As the suppressors get warmed up the flash slightly increases. In the show the muzzle flash is that of unsuppressed weapons. (00:32:20 - 00:33:00)

Rock Bottom - S2-E20

Continuity mistake: The team is somewhere in the Kashmir region and there's a few horses around them which appear to be wild. There is no farmhouse anywhere near them. The Seals end up commandeering the horses, and they're riding them. However, the horses have blankets and saddles on their backs. I'm pretty sure it's difficult to ride a wild horse, and they definitely didn't HAHO in on a mission with leather horse saddles and blankets. In addition, there was no farmhouse for them to find saddles to equip the horses. (00:27:15 - 00:28:30)

Rock Bottom - S2-E20

Other mistake: The team is sent to the Kashmir region to capture kill an HVT. In the briefing room it was discussed in episode 19 that Alpha and Bravo teams would be involved in this op. However, it's only Bravo team on the ground and only Bravo that HAHO'd from the airplane. (00:12:58)

Payback - S2-E18

Other mistake: Jason looks through his Eotech Exps optic. The optic is a 1x power so zero magnification, however when he looks through it, it's shown as magnified. The only way this could happen is if the optic was equipped with a 3x (G33) or 5x (G45) flip magnifier which attaches via Picatinny rail behind the optic on the rifle platform. His rifle doesn't have magnifier. (00:21:30 - 00:22:00)

You Only Die Once - S2-E15

Continuity mistake: The Seals are on the edge of the Afghan, Iranian border, it's not raining, it's raining back at the base where the QRF Marines are on standby. When the QRF responds the attack helicopters decimate the enemy there's no clouds, fog or rain, however when the Osprey lands a few seconds later to pick up the Seals the weather is rainy, foggy and cloudy. The scenes were shot on different days. (00:27:30 - 00:34:30)

Rolling Dark - S1-E9

Question: So they get the scientist on a four-seater, single-prop plane, and then send them from Siberia to Afghanistan. That's by the route from the briefing about 1800 miles. They fly with gear down. Is that possible? (00:06:47)

Answer: Yes. They would have to land 3-4 times for refuelling. The plane could fly with the wheels down, but the additional drag slows the plane and increases fuel consumption.
