Corrected entry: When Korra gets her bending back, she ends with a massive wave shooting up over the cliff. But there is a difference between the shape of the wave between the two shots: in the first one, there is a sort of notch, through which we can see Korra, but in the reverse angle, the notch is instantly gone, it's just a wall of spray. Question: What happened to the lieutenant after Amon threw him into the pile of wood?
Answer: We do not see what happens. Avatar shows rarely have people killed on screen, so either he got away and was never seen again, or just died right there. As Amon was outed as a bender, he would not go back for his old boss.

Correction: 1) That is exactly how it is intended. The white portion of water gets sprayed. The blue portion goes back down. It is unsurprising, especially because Korra is emanating a shockwave. 2) I can see two notches going back down.
