Even the most die-hard fan has things they never knew about their favourite films. As such I've put together a Kindle book: Great Movie Trivia, packed with over 700 bits of trivia from movies old and new. Here are just a few tasters. If you'd like a review copy, please contact me, and if you buy a copy, please leave a review!
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
When the T-1000 follows them in the helicopter, we can clearly see that he has three arms when he is loading his gun with two arms and steering with the third.
Scream (1996)
When Henry Winkler is looking for the "kids" that keep knocking on his door, he opens one door and surprises a cleaner. The cleaner is dressed like Freddy Krueger, is called Fred, and is played by Wes Craven himself.
Aladdin (1992)
When the Sultan is idly building a tower of miniature animal figures, one of the figuresĀ is the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Also, the king crab the genie pulls out of his cookbook is Sebastian from The Little Mermaid.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
During the scene in the senate, after the shot of a Senator calling for order, we see pods with aliens in them. Towards the lower left you can see a pod full of E.T's. There's also a pod full of Wookies making their traditional noises, played for the first time in 20 years by someone other than Peter Mayhew.
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)
In the beginning of the movie, when the candy store owner is singing the candy man song, there's a spot towards the end of the song where he lifts up his counter to let all the kids in. Watch the little blonde girl as she gets walloped in the chin by the counter.
Predator 2 (1990)
Have a close look at the Predator's trophy collection on his spaceship. Taking pride of place is a skull from the creature in the Alien movies.
Back to the Future (1985)
Eric Stoltz was originally cast as Marty. After filming quite a few scenes they realised his acting style was too dramatic for the humor desired, so they cast Michael J Fox (who they couldn't originally get because he was busy with the TV show Family Ties). Filming was on weekends and nights around his TV schedule and using his double at other times.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)
When Ace goes into Einhorn's office to reveal he's solved the crime, you can see a banana placed between 2 apples on the desk - a deliberate hint about Einhorn's true identity.
Frozen (2013)
In the scene where Anna is outside the gates during "For The First Time in Forever", you can see the backs of Flynn and Rapunzel from "Tangled".
Minority Report (2002)
On the "subway" train, the man holding the USA Today paper is Cameron Crowe, and the woman in the seat behind him on his left is Cameron Diaz. Because "Vanilla Sky" and "Minority Report" were so close in shooting, the two directors (Crowe and Spielberg) agreed to put themselves as cameos in each other's films.
Airplane (1980)
Towards the end of the credits, there is a paragraph that states "Unauthorized duplication, distribution, or exhibition may result in civil liability and criminal prosecution. SO THERE."
Wall-E (2008)
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
