Factual error: Part 5, chapter 7. As the guards arrive at Moore's house, he comes out with a long-barrelled revolver, a Buntline Special. In 1932, none of these actually existed - there is a myth that Ned Buntline made 8 guns with such long barrels, but there is no proof they were actually made. Even if the myth should be true in the context of the book, it also states that 7 of the 8 recipients sawed off the barrels to regular length. Colt did eventually make "Buntline Specials", but not until the 1950s.

Deliberate mistake: When Peggy and Steve are studying the map where the 107th Army division is held captive, the names on the map are nonsensical names that do not even follow German spelling or standards for place names ("Farfignugen," "Dädtenorth," and "Rosskjhberg," for instance). Most of them are also reused, appearing several times on the same map. This is most likely done deliberately so as to avoid any resemblance to real places, but still looks out of place and illogical. Factual error: When Stark starts telling about the Tesseract, the colonel shows surprise that Nazis were in Norway. Peggy answers with "Close. HYDRA." Factual error: In Chapter 14, Cato is being awarded a grass crown for saving his centurion and the standard of his company. The grass crown was only given to generals or other higher officers, for rescuing an entire legion or army, and it had to be acclaimed by the entire legion he rescued. As an optio, Cato would be ineligible for a grass crown, his actions would not qualify for it, and he is said to be unpopular with his company, so a unanimous vote is highly unlikely.

Continuity mistake: In the previous episode, Rick and Carol are shown hunting through houses for household drugs to fight the flu. They even make a mention that most of what they find expired a year ago, but to bring it back to Hershel anyway, and let him decide about it. But in this episode, Rick returns, talks to Hershel, and no mention is made about him bringing medicine. Considering how important it was to fight the flu with any means possible, Rick would not have let Carol drive off with the potentially life-saving drugs.

Factual error: Every time the name of the Swedish princess is spoken, it is pronounced "till-dee." This is understandable for the majority of the characters, who speak English as their first language, but in the scene where the Swedish prime minister is interviewed about the disappearance, he also pronounces it "till-dee." Deliberate mistake: When the judge shoots himself, the revolver slides across the table, to fake his murder by someone else. But there is no mechanism in place that explains how he does this, making it appear as if he is able to accurately throw/slide the gun after shooting himself. In the original novel, he used a rubber band to achieve the effect, but he is not shown setting it up here.

Continuity mistake: Vera fires the gun several times, and later tells Justice Wargrave that the gun is empty, meaning that all the cartridges in it would be spent. When the judge loads his one bullet into the chamber, he does so in a gun where all five cartridge svisible are unspent.

Factual error: Just like in the previous movie, Herzog is referred to as "colonel", in particular in the WWII museum where Martin reads about his history. But both in the museum's picture of him, and throughout the movie, Herzog is wearing the uniform of a SS Standartenführer. To hold a title of Oberst (colonel), he would have been a member of the Wehrmacht, regular army, not SS.

Revealing mistake: As Glenn, Blake and Monica are being surrounded by zombies, as Monica asks "Fucking hell, how many more of these are there?", in the background you can see a zombie sitting astride his victim, flailing away with a hammer or hatchet. It is obvious that he is just swinging his arm back and forth, without connecting with anything. It looks as if he is dusting, not slaying someone. (01:23:50)

Other mistake: When Cecil and Gloria are having their birthday celebration, before they are informed of Charlie's death, Cecil goes to the refrigerator to open a bottle of champagne. We hear the distinct pop of a cork from a bottle of sparkling wine, so we know he chose that bottle, but when he enters the living room a few seconds later, he is holding a glass of non-sparkling wine (no bubbles are visible).

Plot hole: Every single one of the ronin are portrayed as being extremely lax with their most prized possession, their swords. When they first gather, one of the ronin tells Oishi "We do not have any swords", whereupon Oishi casually hand over his own. First of all, only the most poverty-stricken and desperate ronin sold their swords, as giving up one's sword was the ultimate humiliation for a samurai, it was a denial of both one's status and legacy. Secondly, selling your sword would mean never being able to be employed as samurai again, or even to be hired as a temporary bodyguard. Thirdly, swords were often inherited from one's father, or given as personal gifts by parents or lords, not something one would willingly give up. It is possible a few of the ronin would have been driven to selling or otherwise losing their swords, but not every single one of the 50+ ronin who gather. And those who still had them would be extremely loathe to even lend them to others.

After the script was finished, he actually did adapt "Beowulf" again, setting it in a quasi-futuristic Baywatch-setting. Continuity mistake: When Doakes is carrying the packs of cocaine out of the cabin, the position of his arms and the cocaine varies wildly from shot to shot. Notable examples are that the cocaine goes from being arranged in neat, accurate stacks, to being haphazardly and irregularly stacked, and back to neat again. His grip on the cocaine also varies a lot; he starts out with straight arms, then suddenly has a 90-degree bend at the elbows, and back to straight again, all depending om camera angle. All of these changes happen too fast to have been natural, and Doakes is on camera the whole time.

But when waiting for the first Wendol attack, Herger states "The All-Father wove the skein of your life a long time ago". Continuity mistake: When Conan first fights Remo, Conan places a blood stain on his forehead by pressing his sword to it. Remo then runs off, and Conan gives chase immediately, pausing only to get Tamara on his horse. The stain is still there when Conan mounts his horse. The next time we see them, Conan and Tamara is still chasing Remo, but now Conan's face is completely clean. It is highly unlikely he would pause in pursuit of one of his father's killers to wash his face. (00:47:55)

Continuity mistake: Season 6, episode 19 "Yo Leela Leela": When Bender discovers Leela's secret writing place, throughout the entire scene the lipstick marks on his head keep changing places, sometimes disappearing and reappearing. Most noticeable is the one on the right side of his head: it disappears when he is shown from that side, then reappears as soon as the angle changes.

Character mistake: In Chapter 62, Dayna Jurgens is talking to Randall Flagg. Flagg states that he has no intention of going to war, saying that "If humanity continues, let our grandfathers fight it out". He even repeats it; "Or their grandfathers". What Flagg must mean to say, is that their grandCHILDREN could fight it out.

Other mistake: In Chapter 59, Stu says that Nick "might have had his hands right on the shoebox", when the bomb inside went off. But Stu had no way of knowing that the bomb was hidden in a shoebox, he ran out of the house before it was even discovered. The only one who got close enough to see it was Nick, who was killed in the explosion.

Continuity mistake: When the three sisters are in the jacuzzi, Tess pours a glass of wine and hands it to Willa. The amount of wine in the glass increases in the cut between Tess picking up the glass and Willa receiving it.

Continuity mistake: Pickles is killed by multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck, as well as being scalped. But in the scene where Willa finds him, and when he is seen in his body bag, there is not a drop of blood to be seen anywhere on his face or clothes.

Revealing mistake: During the final fight, Takeda is chained up between two ninja, and Kinjo orders them to kill him. One of them raises his sword, but is shot by Takedas wife. As the arrow hits, the film noticably "jumps", as the actor is replaced by another with an arrow attached to his throat. Not only does his position (especially his head) slightly change in an instant, but his suit also suddenly becomes a lot darker, and a crease appears in his hood.

Plot hole: When the police inspector asks the uniformed officers how Racine had been killed, they reply that he had been hit with a throwing star coated in poison. For some reason, none of them mention the obvious and significant fact that his throat had been slit as well.

Revealing mistake: When Kinjo is fighting Saito, he throws away his sword and fights Saito with his bare hands. During the duel, he first slams Saitos arm over his knee, then elbows him in the side of the head. But look at Saito's head; he reacts to the elbow LONG before it connects.

Plot hole: After leaving the hospital, Racine ducks into a pachinko parlor. In there, he gets a young girl to help him find a telephone and a taxi. The problem is, she is about 10 years old, and you have to be 18 to even enter a pachinko hall. The attendants we can see in charge would have evicted her within minutes.

Continuity mistake: After Racine is wheeled out of the hotel on a stretcher, the uniformed police officers hand their inspector an evidence bag with the weapon used on Racine, a throwing star coated in poison. The inspector looks at it, then returns it with orders to take it to the laboratory to determine the poison. However, when we see Racine on the operating table, the star is shown, lying in a puddle of blood on the operating table, as if the doctors just now had pulled it out of him.

Factual error: In chapter 8, Barbara is thinking about bullfighting, and how she had seen the horses being disembowelled by the bulls. But Barbara didn't arrive in Spain until 1936, and since 1928 horses used in bullfighting have been legally required to wear protective padding that prevents them from being injured by the horns (so the horses can be reused in other corridas).

Continuity mistake: When Jack is walking into the medicine cupboard, he has a few small sweat stains on the back of his shirt. The camera cuts to show him turning to a different shelf, and for a split second you can see that his shirt back is now covered in a huge stain, and with large sweat rings under his arms. After he has injected Sayid, his shirt is completely dry again. (00:33:20)

Revealing mistake: The zombies' uniforms are all worn, decayed and dirty from being 60 years old, and being underground for most of that time. But there are some notable exceptions. The winter camouflage gear worn by two of the zombies is completely undamaged and pristinely white, and looks brand-new. In addition, when Vegard is thrown out of the zombie cave, the zombie who climbs out after him is wearing shiny black boots, that does not bear the slightest sign of having ever been worn.

Continuity mistake: "Our Father". At the end of the previous episode, "The Eclipse, Part 2", Hiro brought Claire to the rooftop of the Deveaux building to witness Kaito handing over baby Claire to Noah Bennet. To illustrate his point, Hiro showed Claire the exact same thing happening in the "9th wonder" comic book he brought with him, and she can follow the Japanese dialogue from there. But when the exact same scene is shown at the beginning of this episode, Hiro does not show Claire the comic at all.

Continuity mistake: When Sinclair drives the Bentley through the closing vault doors, she barely makes it, with both sides of the car scraping against the doors (as we can both see and hear). Continuity mistake: When the men from Festival Cruise Lines arrive at the Simpson house, they park in the left-hand lane (closest to the house) with the car facing oncoming traffic, seen both when they first pull up and, more, in the background while informing Milhouse about his parents. But in the overhead shot of the house, the car is parked the other way around, following the direction of traffic.

Continuity mistake: When Rincewind and Twoflower are at the Edge, Rincewind tells how he only knows the one spell from the Octavo and how he got it. In several shots of Twoflower the clouds in the background change drastically, often between one- and two-seconds shots of Rincewind. The clouds are almost motionless in every shot, so they could not have drifted that fast so suddenly.

Continuity mistake: When Candyman kills Dr. Burke, blood splatters on Helen, leaving three smudges on her right cheek, right along the jaw. These smudges keep moving around. First, she has a spot right next to her chin. After Candyman has cut her restraints, we get a close-up of Helen, and the blood by her chin is gone. As she gets up and prepares to climb out the window, another spot has appeared on her right cheekbone. (01:08:20)

Continuity mistake: When Helen is strapped to the gurney and sees Candyman floating over her, she starts twitching and screaming, making the nurses rush in and sedate her. But when the surveillance tapes from the same scene is shown, it plays out differently. The first time, Helen just shouts, "Murderer! Help!" and the nurses immediately arrive, on the tapes she screams for a longer time, and twice calls out, "He's here! He's under the bed!" (01:01:45 - 01:05:55)

You can even (for instance) rescue a blonde Dutch woman from her captors, and end up returning with a black-haired Spanish girl.

Other mistake: When fighting Baron or Colonel Mendoza in ship-to-ship combat, they occasionally surrender, if you damage their ship enough. It is shown that the interior of this building is filled with both people and furniture, but when they crash through the last wall, only building debris fall to the ground with them. Continuity mistake: During the final battle between Kenjiro and Collins, Collins starts out wearing a black kimono with white trim, similar to the one Kenjiro is wearing. However, several times during the fight, he is seen wearing the simple blue kimono (without trim) he has used in his earlier fights. His outfit keeps changing back and forth during the entire fight, sometimes black and white, sometimes blue. The absence/presence of white trim makes this very easy to see.

Continuity mistake: When Gray and Jimmy are questioning the Hawkins family, Jimmy is wearing his brown uniform jacket. But in the scene where Gray is asking if Jimmy can search the house, Jimmy's jacket disappears for an instant, just after Gray has said "Just a question of being thorough". Allison Hawkins makes a remark about this being Kansas, not Soviet Russia, and as the camera comes back to Jimmy, his jacket is back on.

Continuity mistake: In 8th Stanza, part 2, Eddie, Roland and John are throwing a baseball between them while talking. At one point, Roland tosses it to John, before going to the fireplace and dropping his cigarette butt. As every other pass of the ball is mentioned, there would be no need to omit it if John actually had returned the ball to Roland.

Continuity mistake: In the Seventh Stanza, part 2, Eddie and Roland are involved in a gunfight alongside two civilians, one (later identified as John Cullum) who is wearing a flannel shirt, and Chip, the store owner. But at one point, two men come around on Eddie's side of the store, also wearing flannel shirts, that are described as "unlike Chip's shirt, they seemed brand-new". Chip is not wearing the flannel, John is.

Tubal stills reaches up to his face and wipes it with his fingers, as if the spittle was there.

Audio problem: When the police and reporters are outside the warehouse where the dinosaur attack happened, Captain. Polaris communicates with other cops by radio. Strangely enough, his own voice, and the voice of the bald cop beside him also sound mechanical, with the crackling quality you hear over radios, even though they are on screen and should be heard normally. This even goes on when they are talking to each other, without using the radios.

Also, as the angle changes, the teacher falls backwards with more impacts appearing on his chest. The problem is, the soldier has already stopped shooting, and there is no other gunfire to be heard. Fletcher then grabs Max's shoulder with his left hand, saying "No! It was the truth!". As the angle changes he is still speaking, but his left hand is now lying across his chest before he reaches out to grab Max again.

In the Star Trek universe, this was referred to in an episode of Deep Space Nine, and is considered as a subtle correction for Picard's statements.

Trivia: Stephen Hawking guest stars in this episode, playing himself as a holodeck character (The "Poker with Einstein" program). This came about when he visited Paramount Pictures to promote "A Brief History of Time", and then told the Paramount people that he had always wanted to visit the Enterprise. He not only got to visit, but the writers added this special scene just so professor Hawking could appear on screen in a Star Trek episode. Hawking also reportedly stopped by the warp engine, smiled and said "I'm working on that".

The focus then goes to Chief Wiggum and Lou, but when their part is done and the "camera" goes back to Bart and Greta, the policemen are sitting behind and to the right of Greta, so that Bart would not have had to turn his head to see them.

But he shows up in the last scene with nothing but a few minor burns on his forearms and a pair of crutches (that he immediately discards). His hair and eyelashes are not even singed.

In addition to the heavy vault door, there are two steel bar doors and an additional door up the corridor protecting the vault. Visible crew/equipment: Just after Tarzan goes under the stone door, he finds the torches dropped by the bad guys. I remember watching a cartoon series on British TV on Saturday mornings when I was a kid (about 15-20 years ago), and I have forgotten its title. The only thing I remember is that it focused on four or five kids who drove giant mechanized lions to defeat whatever evil they were fighting, and when things got too rough, the lions would transform into various parts of a gigantic android warrior. They all lived in this castle-like building, and to get to their respective lions they used transportation tubes a la "Futurama". I also have a vague recollection that their leader was an astronaut from Earth who had arrived on their world through a wormhole, but I'm not sure if I'm confusing this with another cartoon. Anyway, does anyone know the title of this series I'm talking about?

Factual error: In the deleted scene where Bill kills the black guy and his henchmen, Bill slits the throat of the black man, and then sheathes the sword immediately. This would cause the blood to clot the inside of the scabbard, making it sticky and difficult to draw the sword. And if left long enough, it would rust the blade. The scabbard will have to be taken apart to be cleaned properly, which would be a lot of meaningless extra work, instead of simply taking 5 seconds to wipe the blade. A swordsman of Bill's caliber would never have mistreated his weapon like that. It is like seeing a soldier deliberately burying his rifle in mud to give himself a nice, long job of cleaning afterwards.

Continuity mistake: During the last fight, Leo still has a dagger in his back that he is not allowed to remove. This dagger keeps disappearing and reappearing , not to mention that he keeps falling and rolling on his shoulders during the scene, where the dagger should be stuck.

Continuity mistake: In the episode "Mars University" we are shown how robots in "Futurama" attend a regular college, alongside humans and other species, over a periode of at least one college semester. Bender even talks about how he attended and majored in bending (minoring in Robo-American history). However, in this episode, we are shown that his entire "education" consisted of downloading a file at the factory where he was made. There is a clear inconsistency in these two stories of Bender's education.

My first thought was that Decker wanted employees that were totally obedient and demanded no pay (after all, the clones would only have five years to live, and would then have to be cloned again), but considering that each cloning cost $1,3 million, it would be a lot cheaper and less risky to hire the pilots regularly. So why kill them?

She is going over the mountains (looking down on the castle), and her pursuers still are not able to follow the tracks she left in the snow.

As this is a real incident, from real life, there would be no need for him to make anything up or tell it as a "tall tale", and as a professional salvage expert he would be familiar with it. The "Mary Celeste" was carrying 1700 barrels of denatured alcohol, not cotton, like he says. And she did not sail into the Mediterranean on her own to be found off Tripoli, but was discovered straight on course in the Atlantic, despite having been abandoned for some time (according to the last log entry).
