The same shot of the Shoveler pounding in the side of the car is used twice. The first time dents the side panel. Continuity mistake: After the Blue Raja kills Captain Amazing, they retreat to the amusement park and the lab of Dr. Heller where the Shoveler is making egg salad. He opens a large jar of mayonnaise, scoops some out, and leaves the jar on the counter. A later shot shows the counter without the mayonnaise jar. Then the jar reappears. (01:22:30)

Continuity mistake: When the Blue Raja and his mother are having their touching moment in the attic she says that she always knew he was special, "I just didn't know how special". When she says this his is twirling 1 fork in his hand. The camera cuts as she finishes saying this and he suddenly has 3 forks in his hands. There was no time for him to get the other forks and he was not reaching anywhere near the silverware case. (01:26:50)

Deliberate mistake: When Ben Stiller gets done "cleaning the pipes", he looks around the bathroom for "the missing hair gel", he should have known where it was simply by his senses. Earlobes have feeling in them. He should have felt something wet on his earlobe. He also would have felt it dangling from his earlobe.

Factual error: When Ben Stiller gets done "cleaning the pipes", he looks around the bathroom for "the missing hair gel", it is shown hanging from his ear when he answers the door. This is somewhat unrealistic. This glob of "hair gel" would never have hung onto his ear for as long as it did. It would have dripped onto his shoulder long before he reached the door.

Continuity mistake: After Dani was "skinny dipping" in the lake she is seen on the bank watching Court swim. She is supposed to be nude, but the actress is wearing a white cloth over her breasts. Its top is visible when she kisses Court.

Revealing mistake: They use the same shot three times when showing the acid eating throughout the ship. After they try to cut the finger off the face sucker, acid begins to burnt through the decks. When they have gone down 1 deck and look up they see where the acid came through. They then move down 1 more deck and look up again. The acid is just beginning to burn through. Then they look up again and it is the same shot that was used before. The same hanging acid on the right with the drip on the left. After the acid has neutralized, they look up at the hole and it is the same shot again. (00:39:50)

Continuity mistake: When Ripley is in Mother, you can almost read the words on her face as if a small projector is beaming these words on her. The screen she is looking at has 4 lines of green text. The image on her face is 1 line of white text. (01:19:15)

Continuity mistake: Near the start, when Dallas is at the entrance to Mother, one of the lights to his left, the fifth one down from the ceiling, is not lit. The next shot from inside Mother looking out shows that light is now lit. This exact same thing happens a second time when Ripley is entering mother later in the movie. Factual error: When Jack Brown is talking to his wife on the phone telling her about the money US Bates is going to pay him, he is walking around the room. The phone does not have a cord connecting it to the wall but certainly is not a cordless model.

Continuity mistake: In the scene at the fund raising party where Jack and Master Bates are messing up the party, the Grand Wizard of the KKK is pushed into a bowl of chocolate pudding. The amount of pudding on his face constantly changes in subsequent shots from completely covered to partially to completely to partially to finally completely covered.

Continuity mistake: When Jack Brown gets in the Wonder Wheel, he did not hook his feet into the foot straps, he only steps on the foot straps. When he is rolling in the Wonder Wheel his feet are supported by the Wonder Wheel as if strapped in properly. Since he was not strapped in his legs should have fallen down when he was upside down.

Factual error: In the state championship game it is 4th and inches for Carter. Permian stops the play and tackles the runner around the 37 yard line. We see this with the two "X"s on the field for kickoffs which are at the 35 and 40 yard lines. We also see the 30 yard line that he is hit at before being backed up. The announcer says 1st and 10 from the 25. That is the wrong spot for the ball. (01:38:20)

Continuity mistake: When Miles cleans out his locker he stuffs his "dominator" white towel in the front of his pants. A few shots later after he says "play your ass off, win state, be perfect, all that sh*t" he turns around and faces the camera. The towel is no longer there. A few shots later when he is shown going to his car the towel is once again tucked in the front of his pants. (01:10:25)

Continuity mistake: When Beatrix and B.B. are in the bed together the pillow under Beatrix's head changes position between shots. First her head is in the middle of the flowers then the flowers are totally visible. This changes a few more times without Beatrix actually moving her head. (01:36:10)

Continuity mistake: After the big hit on the QB in the final drive, the ball is snapped and a receiver takes off. He takes two steps and is passing the 30 yard line marker. The offensive line is in the background. A spilt second later they show a wide angle shot and the offensive line is holding its ground at the 48 yard line. This wide receiver taking off and the remainder of the play must have been shot at different times. (01:40:05)
