The Burning (1981)

Continuity mistake: In the raft scene, when the caretaker slashes his first victim his hedge cutters get stuck in a tree branch and we seem them covered in blood, but then when he pulls them out and raises them into the air to stab his second victim they're clean and shiny.

Paul Andrews

7th Jun 2004

The Burning (1981)

Audio problem: Throughout the raft scene it is so obvious that all the yelling and talking from the excited children is dubbed - through most of any dialogue their mouths are shut.

Paul Andrews

7th Jun 2004

The Burning (1981)

Continuity mistake: In the raft scene the boy at the front right, from his view, is kneeling on his left leg. When the camera cuts behind them he's suddenly kneeling on his right leg and remains on this leg through every other angle.

Paul Andrews

The Burning (1981)

Paul Andrews

7th Jun 2004

The Burning (1981)

Revealing mistake: In the infamous raft scene, it is so obvious the child who gets stabbed in the throat with the hedge cutters is a real head attached to a dummy body, one; because his neck is too long and two; when he moves his head his neck stays ridged.

Paul Andrews

Way of the Gun (2000)

Continuity mistake: In the hospital kidnap scene when they decide to 'move', Mr. Longbaugh goes around the pillar to join Mr. Parker. Note in this one scene Mr. Parker's hair on his forehead changes then goes back to how it looked in the previous scenes. (00:13:00)

Back to the Future Part II mistake picture

Amelie (2001)

Continuity mistake: Before Dominique Bredoteau enters the phonebooth he has a bag in his left hand. When the camera angle changes he transfers it to his right hand as his arms suggest. When he replaces the handset he swaps the bag back to his left hand picking up the tin box with one hand. The camera cuts to an overhead shot of him holding the tin box with both hands not allowing enough time for him to put the bag down. (00:29:35)

Freddy Vs. Jason (2003)

Visible crew/equipment: When Freddy is brought into the real world and is fighting Jason in the cabin, look carefully as Jason picks up Freddy and pushes him out the window, you can see a cable attached to Freddy's chest in a close up. (01:14:35)

Paul Andrews

Continuity mistake: Lorraine Baines' hands are on her hips, a brief cut to Marty and back and she now holding a cup and saucer at chest height. You could argue she had enough time to pick it back up, but this would seem odd as she's only just put it on the table. (01:43:55)

Amelie (2001)

Question: How does Raymond Dufayel aka Glass Man know Amélie is looking for Bretodeau/Bredoteau aka The Box Man. He says "I've lived here for five years. This is the first time we've met." Then adding that he never goes out on the landing, they're all creeps. So my question is who told him Amélie was looking for The Box Man? Lucien the grocer boy maybe? As he delivers to his flat. Or maybe Madeleine Wallace the Concierge. (00:26:20)

Paul Andrews

Chosen answer: The Glass Man isn't as reclusive as he tells Amelie; he obviously talks to many people and spies on them with his binoculars (he knows all about Amelie's revenge on the grocer and the letter she wrote to Mrs. Wells). It isn't revealed where he got the specific information about Amelie's search for Dominique Bredoteau.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)

Continuity mistake: Note the bad cut as the Chinese man is first knelt down looking at the briefcase on top of the mobile safe then a camera angle change shows him stood and looking behind him before positioning himself to jump. Then note how his body angle changes when falling off the top of the cabinet between cuts. Look carefully to the right of the screen and you can see a Perspex sheet wobbling. (01:23:05)

Paul Andrews

Revealing mistake: When Doc starts up the DeLorean watch the remote when he says to Marty "not me, the car, the car." The counter is static at 00 but the car is moving. (00:19:40)

Paul Andrews

Back to the Future mistake picture

Continuity mistake: George McFly's holding a pen in his right hand, then a cut to a wide shot reveals him not holding a pen as he rests his arm away from his body on the table. Then when the camera cuts back his arm is back in front of him holding the pen. (00:14:10)

Paul Andrews

Question: In the scene where Marty is being chased around Twin Pines mall by the Libyans why is Marty driving straight towards the 1hr Photo Booth? I'm assuming he doesn't realise the time circuits were on, as he accidentally engaged them when changing gear. If he DID know, why drive 88+ mph knowing you don't have enough plutonium to get back from 1955? (00:30:00)

Paul Andrews

Chosen answer: He could have been planning on veering aside at the last second, hoping the Libyans would crash. In any case, it provides a convenient solution to the problem of the Libyans threatening our heroes when Marty returns from the future. :)

Dr. Marsh puts on a protective eye mask, before administering a syringe of luminous substance into Sam's arm to stop him projecting fire, but the next scene shows him not wearing the mask then it's back when disposing of the syringe.

House (1986)

Trivia: After the cops leave Roger's house, Roger is fighting with the sandy/demon upstairs then opens the bathroom door to release the floating garden tools. There's a 1958 poster of the movie 'The Blob' at the top left of the wall - another classic horror movie.

Paul Andrews

House (1986)

Continuity mistake: When the Sandy/demon tries the blow Rogers brains out he opens the bathroom door containing the 'floating garden tools'. The hedge cutter shoots towards Sandy/demon lopping off her head. House (1986)

Continuity mistake: When Sandy turns into the demon she's still wearing her own clothes, however her footwear has gone from high-heels to blue socks and white leg warmers. Most noticeable when she gets shotgunned out through the front doors of the house. Then she reverts back to human and is wearing high-heels again.

Paul Andrews

Continuity mistake: Marty is hitching a ride on the back of a jeep, a wide shot shows him going past and beyond the 'Lou's Aerobic Fitness Center' next to the Texaco garage, there's a cut to his skateboard then back to a medium shot of him going pass the same fitness centre again, this time waving to the people inside. (00:06:00)

Back to the Future mistake picture

Continuity mistake: 1955 Skateboard Chase Scene around Town square. After Marty falls over the couple, a shot of Biff's car shows all the passengers standing up, but in the very next frame everyone is sat down. Also, that is not Biff driving. (01:04:20)

Paul Andrews

Continuity mistake: 1955 Skateboard Chase Scene around Town square. Throughout the whole chase scene two visible different stunt drivers are used to drive the two different models of Biffs' Ford. One is a 1946, the other is a 1947. Note the different position and shape of the front turn sign. (01:04:25)

Paul Andrews

Back to the Future mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Beginning of film. When Marty arrives at Twin Pines as the Doc requested he cruises up alongside Einstein on his skateboard, saying "Where's the doc, boy?" There's a cut to the truck opening, then back to Marty, and for some strange reason the yellow wheels on his skateboard have turned pink, but the reflection on the wet car park is still yellow. It cuts back to the DeLorean coming out of the truck then back to Marty, and his wheels are yellow again. This doesn't happen in the VHS version. (00:17:40)
