Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film, when Matt gives Jenna her dollhouse, she opens the closet door. You can see a height chart on the inside of the door and it says "12 years old 1986" so that meant that the year was 1987, but Jenna had been dancing to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', which wasn't released until 1996.
