Continuity mistake: When Nate drives his motorcycle out to the cliff overlooking the beach, we see him get off his bike wearing his helmet and glasses. He strides along and then before stopping takes off his helmet and not his glasses. In the very next shot he is squatting down and his glasses are gone, but he made no attempt to take them off and there wasn't enough time in between shots to do so.

Continuity mistake: When Fast Eddie jumps over the road block and comes crashing down you can see from the severity of the landing that the front left side of the vehicle is seriously damaged as is probably the rest of the front of the vehicle. Deliberate mistake: When 11 is dropped into the water and eaten by the piranhas, although the ravenous fish probably ate most of her and what was on her, there should at least be pieces of clothing that would rise to the surface in the flurry of activity. Not to mention that even though the water is a murky green all the blood from her body should have created a temporary, but very noticeable darkening of the water.

Trivia: During the scene in the classroom where the teacher is having the students read their poems, if you look on the chalkboard you will see the words "I Don't Know" written on it. This is a nod to "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" where in class Mr. Hand asks Jeff Spicoli a question, he responds with these very words and angrily Mr. Hand writes them on the board before giving the class another pissed off tirade on being stupid.

Plot hole: In the scene where Bart has to choose the right Roman numeral door in order to avoid the tigers; right as the Shelbyville kids come bursting through the outer door, Bart picks the right door through humorous deduction and escapes. However, the Shelbyville kids are unable to open the door which doesn't make sense, since there is no lock on the door and there wasn't any mention of Bart blocking or sabotaging the door because only a few seconds later we see him on the street continuing to fret about the lemon tree.

Visible crew/equipment: When Knoxville and a bad guy end up fighting hand to hand downstairs (in Chris's house) after trading off shotgun blasts at one point they end up grappling in front of an armoire with a glass front. Just before they struggle off to fight in another part of the room you can see a crew member with a black shirt appear from the left in the reflection of the glass. Since Chris appears in the scene about a few seconds after this it could be him. He was also wearing a black shirt but one things for sure whoever it was was not meant to be seen as they quickly ducked out of sight. (01:06:55)

Continuity mistake: When Stewie is in his room talking to Rupert and himself out loud about Janet we see that Rupert is on the left side of Stewie's pillow. When the camera pans over to Brian who overhears Stewie's musings, after Brian makes fun of Stewie the camera pans back and Rupert is gone. There is also a quick tete-a-tete on the color of Janet's eyes and the final shot is on Stewie and his crib and yet no Rupert to be found. (00:07:20)

Factual error: When Bond and Goodhead's space shuttle enters space, it still has the main fuel tank attached. However, when Bond releases the fuel tank it falls downward. It should maintain its momentum in orbit around the Earth until atmospheric drag (which extends out to high orbit) causes the orbit to decay over many years.

Revealing mistake: During the laser battle inside the space station, one of the villains on one of the upper circular tiers makes a move as though to signify he was hit with a laser a second or two before the laser actually hits him.

Continuity mistake: When Drax is jetisened from the Space Station by Bond, he flips end over end but at some point in the last moments we see him his body moves upward as though he hit some turbulence and then it moves downward. This isn't possible in space because unlike skydiving where one can manipulate his body in flight, in space one can't change his momentum without something to counteract the direction one's headed in like jet propulsion or running into an object that would allow them to stop the way they were previously headed. Drax has neither the jet propulsion since he is ejected in just his suit and doesn't run into anything which would change his direction.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film we see the large tanker ship exploding at many different areas of its hull including a lot of explosions on the topside. However, there is a point where the camera shows the ship sinking with an underwater shot, sinking with bow first and then progressing towards the stern and there are no holes let alone burn marks that would show where the explosions took place.

Factual error: At the end of the film Stromberg shoots at Bond under the table with a pneumatic spear gun-type weapon that shoots most likely a spear with an explosive tip through a long tube. This type of spear gun, unlike elastic-operated spear guns, has an actual sort-of gun barrel that's closed at the back. As such, when Bond shoots Stromberg through the tube with his hand gun, he somehow hits him, despite the fact that the bullets would ricochet off the closed barrel.

Unless the video store is on the ranch or very close by this doesn't seem possible for someone so determined to rent movies.

Deliberate mistake: When the girls are done snorting the "coke" and Rick takes the tray away, none of the girls have snorted any of it because the same amount is still there except instead of lines it is now all muddled together. Continuity mistake: When De Niro catches Stone and Woods in the restaurant, De Niro takes out some money from his coat pocket and lays it on the table. In one shot the money is straight, in another it is diagonal and in the final shot before De Niro picks it up it is straight again.

Other mistake: The scene in the bookstore is shot in reverse, which although humorous, isn't a mistake. The mistake is the fact that what the characters say and what the subtitles say don't match up. Revealing mistake: When Martha is in her office and the phone rings, when the camera shows the phone, no line is lighting up, yet when she picks up the phone everything is normal and the phone conversation starts. Having owned one of these phones, first of all since they are multi-line phones when a light is flashing green that means an incoming call and a solid red means a line is being used but none of this stuff shows up in the scene. Second of all, the secretary earlier on in the movie says she has a call on line two, therefore proving she has more than one line on the phone.

As Homer tries to steer the raft to the left as he pulls his left arm out of the water and it is covered in leeches but in the next shot of him when we see the arm again the leeches are gone. No way to remove leeches that fast.

Continuity mistake: When the aftershock hits L.A. and destroys Wilshire Plaza, the camera shows the destruction underground and at some point a brick pillar falls over. Instead of being made of brick it's really made out of wood with brick type wallpaper. Plot hole: In the scene where they show how the earth's core has stopped moving and at the end of the movie where they show it moving again what instruments are they using to show these momentous events? According to the film, the inside of the earth is filled with various rock formations, huge diamonds and molten lava, not to mention intense heat, so what device(s) could sustain itself long enough to give back accurate readings?

Trivia: Matt Groening did all his animation in black and white and another animator was in charge of coloring. When she chose yellow, Matt said it worked and liked it (consequently when she chose purple for trees they rejected it.) The idea behind the yellow after that is so when you're flipping through the channels and come across yellow animated characters, you'll know right away it's The Simpsons.
