Three's Company (1977)

Correction: Jack is being as overtly obnoxious as can be, and the "Tammy" was quite deliberate on his part. Jack also did not pronounce Terri correctly, but instead pronounced it like "Teary" just to emphasize the obnoxious behavior (when Jack feels bad while holding the seltzer bottle he pronounces her name correctly).

Super Grover

I respectfully disagree with that synopsis - being obnoxious doesn't mean you purposely mispronounce a name. Seems that if it was on purpose, one of the cast (in character) would have corrected him. Some things slip through editing due to time frames and reshoots.

Correction: This has already been submitted and has been sitting in the corrections section for some time with a few different answers. Nobody knows the real answer but some good possibilities have been submitted.

Correction: I think he calls him "Gavin-O" (pronounced Gah-VEEN-o)... like when some people call someone named Jim, Jimbo.

ckbyers

Correction: He actually calls him D'Amato - the character's name, but he is talking fast.

Other mistake: Rattner and DiMone are game planning about Rattner's date with Stacy (Leigh). DiMone tells Rattner that all he needs to do to score with Stacy is play songs from side 1 of "Led Zeppelin IV" (Zoso). You then hear the song "Kashmere", which is on the album "Physical Graffiti".

Suggested correction: Damone (not DiMone), told Rat that when they were making out to put on side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV. The fact that Rat is playing Kashmir from Physical Graffiti is just to show that Rat was unclear about Damone's instructions.

Not sure if Rat is unclear about Damone's instructions... he said he had 4 steps to making sure that getting a date with Stacy and keeping her around, and if all else fails, to play side one of LZ-IV... seems that Rat would (should) have asked if he was unclear then at that point considering Rat had a crush on her throughout the movie. I think that it's more of a musical inside joke if anyone was/is familiar with the Zep catalog realizing two things - one, the first four steps of Damone's plan didn't work being that his character was pretty shady and fake (off camera...because you don't see Rat implementing any of them) and two, that "he can't even get the music correct" due to his nervousness.

Coming to America (1988)

Corrected entry: While at the engagement party, Lisa steps outside to be on the swings and invites Akeem to talk. They have no coats on, show no signs of cold, and we can't see their breath. But when they were standing outside of McDowell's and emptying the trash everyone was dressed for winter.

ckbyers

Correction: Akeem puts his red coat on Lisa because she is rubbing her arms trying to keep warm because she stormed out without thinking because she was angry. You can't always see your breath when it's cold out. And some people can handle the cold more than others without showing signs.

LorgSkyegon

I was focusing more on the seeing the breath than I was the clothing - but was making the comparison that during the trash scene, the breath - as they're dressed appropriately for winter. I know over a period of time, you can not see your breath - but it requires being out in the cold for several hours (i.e. see thriller movie "Frozen" for reference on the "making of"). When he first walks out from a warm house to the "cold" outside... you should at the very least see his first couple of sentences... from either him or her.

Corrected entry: Automobile fires don't go out by themselves. Since the fire department doesn't come to the scene, the car would have burnt to a bare hulk. If the fire department had come to the rescue, they would not have allowed Del and Neal to drive away in what was left.

Correction: It's likely that a passing trucker helped them, especially since later on Del says "we got it in the nick of time" to the state trooper. A trucker would be carrying an onboard fire extinguisher and would not have been in a position to impound the car, allowing Neal and Del to continue on.

Yes but what are truly the odds of a trucker coming by? In the age of Hollywood, - it would have literally be in the script to convey the idea that one did stop. To me, it's more of a sarcastic comment by Neal that "we got it in nick of time" given their string of bad luck, that he was saying it - knowing the car was burnt to a crisp.

The Rhinitis Revelation - S5-E6

Other mistake: When Mary is rubbing VapoRub on Sheldon's chest, she makes a comment that last time she saw that there was no hair, to which Sheldon replies "Yeah it filled in last year." In Season 1, Episode 11, Penny rubs VapoRub on Sheldon's chest and a very clear remark about chest hair was made. Season 1 for the show was 4 years ago.

Suggested correction: Sheldon is probably joking when he tells Mary his chest hair filled in the previous year.

Sheldon doesn't make jokes.

Ssiscool

He doesn't understand sarcasm, hence, doesn't know when to be sarcastic.

ckbyers

If Sheldon didn't make jokes, the term "Bazinga" would have never came into play. Ever.

ckbyers

And nearly all instances of Bazinga are not used in a funny circumstance. Indicating poor judgement and lack of knowledge regarding jokes.

Ssiscool

They were funny to him. And to the audience.

lionhead

Google "how many times has Sheldon said "Bazinga" " - and it'll explain that he does, indeed - joke.

Other mistake: In the scene when Mark Ratner asks for Stacy's phone number, there is a customer paying for a slice of pizza. Stacy tells the customer to pay $1.10. The customer gives her a dollar and change. She then gives him five cents back. The only way this could be right is if the customer gave her $1.15. If he could do that, why not the exact $1.10?

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: In this scene, when Stacy says "$1.10, and you get 5 cents back", the price is actually $1.05 and the customer gives her $1.10 and she gives him his change, which would be 5 cents. When she says "$1.10", she was only confirming the amount the customer gave to her, not how much she wanted from him.

Pause the movie. The total on the register is $1.10 then it shows .05 change. The guy paid $1.15.

Who does that? - who pays an extra nickel just to get the same nickel back? Normally when a person overpays (and this is "normally") the cashier usually says "oops - you gave me too much."

ckbyers

Suggested correction: She types in what the customer gives her and the register gives the change amount back. The total bill was 1.05, not 1.10.

The register show $1.10 (as well as $0.05) before he gives her any money.
