Midway (1976)

Visible crew/equipment: On the first torpedo attack on the Japanese carriers, US pilot George Gay is shot down. He exits the plane and swims towards a square floating object. Either he takes size 28 shoes or the actor was wearing fairly short black swim fins. They show twice very briefly above the water. Hard to see, but nobody has feet that long.

Contact (1997)

Factual error: When Foster is going to Japan, a Harrier jet transports her to a ship. The ship is underway, traveling at quite a clip according to the wake. The Harrier landed on its heliport platform, facing the stern. Harriers hover, but cannot fly backwards at more than a crawl. It would have crashed.

Suggested correction: It isn't technically a harrier just another futuristic version of a VTOL aircraft. We don't know the capabilities of a fictional aircraft.

The VTOL is military, but she steps off a small commercial plane.

The Box (2009)

Factual error: The briefcase containing $1 million was full of $100 bill straps, two columns by six straps or $120k per layer. Eight layers would have been 4 inches tall, not including the four straps left over. The top and bottom portions of the case were equal depth and only the bottom half was full. The case would have had to be approximately 8 inches deep, which it evidently was not, to hold $1 million.
