Super 8 (2011)

Answer: Alice "borrowed" her father's car without permission and was driving without a license at age 12. She didn't want to get caught, but Joe - the deputy's son - saw her and she was afraid that Joe would tell his dad. Joe said she could trust him and his father would never know. Alice may have already liked Joe or spending time together made his attraction grow. They also had something in common that caused them sadness and could relate to - neither had a mother around anymore. They apparently were an "only child", which was not relatively common in 1979; both were left "home alone" when their fathers were at work or elsewhere, signifying they may have been lonely and in need of a friend who could relate to these circumstances.

KeyZOid

Answer: Their initial dislike stemmed from their fathers' mutual animosity over the fatal accident that killed Joe's mother. Alice may have come to understand and accept why Joe blamed her father, who was indirectly responsible for his mother's death. This eventually allowed them to grow close.

I didn't get the impression that Joe and Alice initially disliked one another. In fact, Joe's eyes lit up with excitement when he found out that Alice was going to be driving them to film the movie - Joe was already infatuated with Alice. Moreover, I don't think that Joe initially knew that Alice's dad played an indirect role in his mother's death. Alice eventually told Joe that her father works at the place where his mother worked and later told Joe that her dad was supposed to work the day of the accident but called off (and Joe's mother filled in for him, thereby putting her in the position to have an accident at work when it was supposed to be her day off).

Venom (2018)

Answer: Carlton Drake's The Life Foundation was being sued for unethical testing on human subjects. Ann Weying was one of the foundation's defense lawyers. Ann's fiance, Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist, happened to see some of her documents related to the case.

Question: If the Mayor's death is only in the extended edition, then why was there no mention of it in the theatrical edition? Also, why wouldn't the town stand up to Berringer for killing their Mayor?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Question: Hansel said in the end that Augsburg knows who they are now. Does that mean they know that murdering his and Gretel's parents was wrong?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: There is a scene at the end of the film showing the children leaving the factory. It shows the changes ARE permanent. Mike stays stretched and Violet stays blue. She is also impossibly flexible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBOvtKI73yc.

Answer: In the book, it's implied that they did.

Question: After the defeat of Mulgarath and the goblins, does Mallory stop treating Jared badly and make up with him?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Question: What does Fridge do now if he's still kicked off the football team by the end of the movie? It seems that only Spencer, Bethany, and Martha had some character growth, but not Fridge.

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: Fridge absolutely had character growth. He learned to value others as actual friends instead of using people to make his life easier. He learned to have respect for less popular students. He learned that physical strength can't solve all your problems. He learned the true value of teamwork. He never would have learned any of these lessons had he not played Jumanji.

BaconIsMyBFF

What about Spencer? What kind of character growth did he have?

Primarily he gains confidence and self-esteem. He learns to be more decisive but also seems to have much more courage than before.

BaconIsMyBFF

Answer: Spencer learned to be more confident in himself.

Question: After finishing the game, did Spencer, Fridge, Bethany, and Martha still have detention or did changing the timeline prevent them from their punishment?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: They still had detention. The only thing that changed was Alex. But since they had become such close friends, detention would hardly be a punishment for them anymore.

BaconIsMyBFF

It seemed like they just simply walked out of detention. I mean, did they finish their detention or did they have to continue on a Saturday?

The movie doesn't explain. But regardless, it also really doesn't matter.

TedStixon

They probably didn't go back on Saturday. When they go back to school, Spencer acts like he hasn't spoken to Martha since their adventure, while Bethany says she's been texting Martha 'all weekend'.

Brian Katcher

The principal did say that if they didn't finish sorting the old magazines, they would have to finish the next day; though whether or not they did is unclear.

A Wrinkle in Time (2018)

Question: Do both Meg and Charles Wallace go to the same school? I'm asking because I thought Meg is 13 and in middle school while Charles Wallace is 6 and they both get sent to Principal Jenkins' office.

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: Some schools can go from kindergarten all the way up to grade nine. My school was that way.

Venom (2018)

Question: I kinda don't understand the ending. Does Anne no longer blame Eddie for losing her job and ending their relationship? Did both Eddie and Anne get their jobs back or do they move on? What has become of The Life Foundation? Has founder Carlton Drake been exposed for the evil person he is for killing homeless people and Dora Skirth?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: Since Eddie is seen talking with Ann, she seems to have forgiven him. Ann decides to become a public defender and Eddie was given his old job back but, he chose not to take it. Instead, he decides to go back to journalism. As for the Life Foundation, it's only speculation but, with the photos that Eddie took, it's possible that it shut down and Drake's plans and the people he murdered were exposed to the public.

The Equalizer 2 (2018)

Answer: It is never mentioned, but it stands to reason that eventually they did find out. York's crimes most certainly would have been made public, he is solely responsible for several murders including the murder of a police officer at the beach. There would be very little reason for the government to cover up his crimes since he was acting as a rogue agent.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Question: Why is Peter still bullied by people in school even though he is in college? I'm referring to the scene where people hit him with backpacks and call him names as well as the scene in "Spider-Man 3" where he is bullied in Dr. Connors' class.

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: Other students see him as a nerd and a teacher's pet.

Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Question: Why would Flash Thompson of all people attend Harry's funeral? He bullied Peter and Harry in the first movie.

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: It had been a few years since they were in high school. Perhaps Flash had matured since then and realised his behaviour towards them was wrong, so he came to pay his respects.

Casual Person

This is true to the comics. Eventually Flash matures and becomes close friends with both Peter and Harry.

Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Answer: Sandman is a fugitive who is on the run. It is more than likely that his name has appeared in the news at some point. His daughter and her illness would likely have also been mentioned as well. Seeing as how Eddie worked at the Daily Bugle, it shouldn't have took long for him to put two and two together.

Casual Person

The symbiote (which turned Eddie into Venom) usually has its previous owner's memories. So Eddie might have known about Sandman's daughter through Peter's memories.

But Peter doesn't seem to know he had a daughter and shows surprise when he's told of her at the end.

Rob245

Supposedly there is a deleted scene where Venom finds out about Sandman's daughter but it was cut for time, so it ends up creating a little bit of a plot hole in the final film.

Holes (2003)

Question: Before Stanley was found innocent and left Camp Green Lake with Zero, how long were those two in the camp?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: From the looks of it there is at least half a year.

Answer: 2 weeks.

Holes (2003)

Answer: This is explained a bit more in the book. When Stanley and Zero made it to the top of God's Thumb, Stanley sang his families song to Zero. Zero was a descendant of Madame Zeroni, who had cursed the Yelnats family to bad luck when Elya, the Russian ancestor of Stanley, decided not to carry her up the mountain and sing the song to her, which would have rejuvenated her. By singing the song to Zero, Stanley had (by extension) sung to Zeroni, and removed the curse. Then, in the scene directly after, we see Stanley's father find a method of repairing shoes immediately, eliminating the requirements of harvesting a massive amount of resources when you could repair the shoe instantly. Stanley's dad marketed this technique and made a large amount of money quickly, enabling him to get a lawyer. The lawyer interviewed his classmates, who backed up Stanley's alibi, making him innocent.

Answer: We are never shown what happened to him but he may have gone to live with relatives or he was simply put into an orphanage.

Question: Why was Charles Wallace being sent to the office? For calling out on the two teachers or for causing Meg to hurt Veronica? Also, why aren't the two teachers in trouble for making fun of the Murry family?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Answer: We are never told why Charles Wallace was sent to the office. Perhaps the principal wanted to hear his side of the story seeing as he saw what happened. He may have also told the principal what the teachers said as well.

A Wrinkle in Time (2018)

Answer: Maybe Meg hadn't hugged her mom in a really long time so the mom must be thinking that she is dreaming that Meg is hugging her.

Peter Rabbit (2018)

Chosen answer: Because her house was smashed with a tree.

Answer: The Rabbits assumed that she would leave to be with Thomas.

Unlikely. Her house has just been smashed by a tree and would need to be repaired.

Ssiscool

By this point Thomas and Bea had broken up.
