The Lost Boys (1987)

Question: The grandfather says at the very end that he knew all along about the vampires, so why didn't he tell Sam or Michael before?

Joey221995

Answer: It was also in keeping with Grandpa's eccentric nature; if he'd said anything about the vampires before, they might have assumed he was either joking or possibly becoming senile.

zendaddy621

Answer: Probably because it was just boasting, and he didn't really know they were vampires until the very end. He may have suspected, but never had definitive proof.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Question: What did CJ mean when he said, "f*cking figures", before he blew himself up with some of the zombies?

Joey221995

Answer: "Figures" is an English expression of figure of speech about something happens and a predicament winding up a certain way. It's a play on the mathematical term of figures in an equation having a determined answer. If you follow the figures, of course you get what is comes as the answer. This is often used in real life situations as a figure of speech, where of course the stuff that happens leads to this. It "figures." So basically CJ was saying, "of course this is what happens."

Question: Before Scar 'betrays' the hyenas by saying that they were the real enemy, (Shenzi, Banzai and Ed are shown to have overheard), what were they doing up there in the first place before they overheard Scar?

Joey221995

Answer: They were probably going to help Scar defeat Simba by jumping on him since he couldn't see them but after overhearing what Scar said decided to kill him. It's really speculation but, that's just one of many different possibilities.

Answer: Phasma is apparently dead, and Last Jedi director Rian Johnson says there are no plans to revive the character in the next film. However, the ending was ambiguous enough that it leaves open the possibility of the character returning.

Joey221995

Question: Why did Estes attack Will with the paddle oar when he said "we're not going anywhere", and what did he mean by that?

Joey221995

Answer: I think that Estes already knew that Will was Ben's son. He had made a comment about a man (Ben) killing his wife (Sarah) in the same room Julie and Will was staying in. He also makes a comment about Will having his mother's eyes. So he probably recognized him. He also knew that the answer they gave to the radio host was wrong, and that proved it was a set up from the beginning.

Question: Was there any indication or hints that Will was actually Ben Willis' son before the reveal at the end?

Joey221995

Answer: I believe it was supposed to be a surprise plot twist, I don't remember there being any indication that Will was setting them up.

Breakdown (1997)

Question: Was Red/Warren's wife in on it also, or was she truly unaware of her husband's kidnapping lifestyle?

Joey221995

Answer: She was not in on it. However, once she turned against Jeff by encouraging her son, Deke, to shoot him, Jeff suddenly felt her to be as much as a threat as the others involved. This would explain why he had her and Deke into the cellar to be locked up with the others. Also, don't forget she was startled to see the freezer and Amy popping out of it.

Question: What did Sarah and Enrique say to each other in Spanish, before greeting each other?

Joey221995

Answer: Sarah also calls Enrique "sneaky like a snake."

Jukka Nurmi

Answer: All I hear is Sarah saying, "Enrique? You here?" And Enrique says, "Good to see you, Connor. Always knew you'd come back" or something like that.

Charles Austin Miller

Question: Did Caesar intentionally mean to kill winter the gorilla, or was he just trying to keep him silent from alerting the alpha omega soldiers?

Joey221995

Answer: He was trying to keep him quiet. He was likely more aggressive about it than he would have been, had his family not been murdered.

Question: When Harry is stabbing Tom Riddle's diary with the basilisk fang, what is that liquid that coming out of the diary?

Joey221995

Answer: The liquid is the black ink that comprises the diary and is in effect is Tom Riddle's soul. The diary horcrux bleeds to death after being stabbed.

raywest

Answer: It's blood, as well as excess Basilisk venom.

Answer: Harry knows Voldemort killed his parents and wants to kill him. He's smart enough to recognize Voldemort is trying to trick him.

Question: If the Basilisk snatched Ginny and took her to the chamber, then why doesn't she have teeth marks when they show her lying on the chamber floor? Surely the Basilisk didn't drag her, because it doesn't obviously have arms.

Joey221995

Answer: The comment that she was "snatched" was a generalization used by the Hogwarts staff and not a literal description of her physically being taken. Riddle was able to control Ginny through the diary, putting her into a trance and commanding her what to do. She most likely was instructed to follow the basilisk into the Chamber of Secrets.

raywest

Question: Did the Basilisk intentionally mean to petrify Mrs. Norris or was she in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Joey221995

Answer: It was just a coincidence. There was a puddle on the floor that Mrs Norris was drinking from. When the Basilisk appeared she seen its reflection in the water and was petrified. Though, even with it not being intentional, she still would have died had she actually looked it in the eyes instead of seeing it through a reflection.

Answer: She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. While wandering the halls, she happened upon the basilisk, looked into its eyes and was petrified.

raywest

Answer: The basilisk can only understand parseltongue (snake language), which Riddle can speak. He was able to train it to only obey his commands, even though Harry could also speak parseltongue.

raywest

Question: When Harry is walking down the corridor and hears "get out...get out" was that the basilisk saying that before he encounters Ron and Hermione, when they discover Mrs. Norris?

Joey221995

Answer: I believe Harry is hearing Voldemort's voice commanding the basilisk or the basilisk is repeating Riddle's orders to "get out" to attack someone at Hogwarts. Harry had a psychic connection to Voldemort that enabled him to hear the Dark Lord.
