Continuity mistake: When Joe goes to Kathleen's house when she's sick, there are used Kleenexes in front of the box on the right side of the table and the fruit basket. Joe is in the kitchen making tea, but when he comes into the room, it shows the table again and the Kleenexes are gone. Continuity mistake: When the three Philadelphia cops walk toward the house it is dusk; when a few seconds later McFee breaks down the door you can see the background and now it is full day with bright sunshine. (01:32:45)

During this time, the camera switches back and forth between Joe and Kathleen. Kathleen's right sweater sleeve cuff is by her wrist in one shot and rolled up by her elbow in the next. Continuity mistake: In one of the early scenes where Joe Fox and his girlfriend are having breakfast, Joe's orange juice carton moves around the table by itself. Joe's glass seems to refill itself in an instance without any juice leaving the carton and when Patricia throws a newspaper on the table, Joe is holding his glass in his right hand; in the next shot it's in his left. At one point Joe puts the glass down on the table and in the next shot picks it up from the top of his newspaper. (00:04:35)

Continuity mistake: As Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are having lunch while discussing "NY152" the lemon on the plate of food moves and disappears. (01:46:20)

Continuity mistake: When Ariel and Rusty are at the diner discussing Ren, Ariel has a French fry in her hand halfway up to her mouth, but when the shot changes her hands are back to the bowl of fries. The bowl of fries move closer to her between shots as well.

Continuity mistake: When Tom Hanks is agitated over how to explain his absence at the Cafe Lola, he paces back and forth while looking at his computer. When there is a close-up shot of the computer, we see his chair is right in front of it. But when he returns to sit down, the chair is way off to the side of the screen. (01:13:20)

Continuity mistake: When Joe is on the yacht talking to his father, Joe is mixing up martinis, pours them, and adds an onion to one, and then an olive to the other. The camera cuts away to his father and then cuts back and now the second martini has no olive, so Joe adds an olive again. (01:30:11)

Continuity mistake: When the train overtakes the cart you see in alternating shots either the cart on the road with clear field in between or, in an angle showing Rachel's and Samuel's faces, a built-up area with station and factory looking buildings. (00:08:50)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film, during the wordless good-bye scene between Kelly McGillis and Harrison Ford, she stands at the door wearing her Amish bonnet. Continuity mistake: Several times, Casey is seen running across a bridge. From the high angle, snow can be seen along the right side of the bridge. However, when the shot switches to a view from behind her, the bridge is clear of snow from edge to edge. (00:01:05)

She enters, puts the Coraline doll down on the smallest box with the doll's legs and right arm hanging down, then she starts playing with the creaky door. Continuity mistake: During Coraline's first meal with her Other Mother and Father, just before Coraline says "I'm real thirsty." there are two drinking glasses to her right, the one she uses a couple seconds later and a smaller one. After the cut to the chandelier lowering, it goes back to Coraline and the smaller glass has completely vanished.

Continuity mistake: When Coraline is in bed in the other world for the first time, she's holding the picture frame showing her friends face down. When the shot changes to her again, the frame is facing up. (00:21:35)

Continuity mistake: During the other father's song, notice the red record player by the door and the position it's in, with the lid facing Coraline when he says, "making up a song". When the camera angle changes and he says, "she's a doll", the record player's position changes completely, with the lid now facing the wall.
