Colors (1988)

Trivia: When Colors was first screened in a university theater, a young film student was of the opinion that the studio who financed this film 'had no right to make a movie about a culture they knew nothing about', and that they were marketing it as a picture about black gangs when it was actually a film about 'two white cops.' This student eventually graduated, wrote a film, and directed it. That film was Boyz in Da Hood, and the writer-director was John Singleton, who at the time had had it with those 'stupid New Jack Shitty exploitation films about blacks.'

Sid and Nancy (1986)

The Patriot (2000)

Trivia: By the time Heath Ledger won this role, he was flat broke. He recalled, 'It came to the point where I had like, no money.' He was practically living on Ramen noodles by that time. This was because he 'got nothing offers to do these teen movies and television sitcoms', and he refused to do them due to the 'very little depth' of the scripts. By the time he was accepted for The Patriot, he said later, 'I guess I put myself in a situation where I didn't belong. But saying no turned out to be more valuable than saying yes.'

Trivia: At Orthodox Jewish weddings, while dancing is encouraged for the sake of bringing joy to the bride and groom, it is an established and accepted custom that the men and women dance separately so as to avoid a rather immodest atmosphere. Hence, the entire ballroom is divided in two; one section for the men, and the other where the women gather.

Trivia: Quentin Tarantino, who wrote the original script, wasn't overly impressed with the rewrites. He then asked to have his writing credits removed. He is therefore not credited for the screenplay, but for the story.

Trivia: The film shows Joshua escaping and meeting up with Moses. According to holy Jewish texts, this is not so; no one could escape Egypt at the time, what with its highly occult powers. Only Moses could lead them out. And when he did lead them out, that was when Joshua went along.

Trivia: In the pool scene, Moco is seated in an inflatable floating couch and talking on the phone. Being the only non-Spanish-speaking actor, Peter Marquardt had to deliver his lines either by memory or notes. In the pool, Carlos Gallardo, who plays the Mariachi, is off-screen holding up sheets of paper so Richard can read his lines out loud and act at the same time.

In the book Wiseguy, it is stated that Henry saw him grab a sawed-off baseball bat from the trunk of his car and chase a nimbler man up five flights of stairs to collect a loan shark debt.
