Question: Is the movie supposed to have any connection with the Avengers? Is Xandar one of the nine realms? Does the orb have anything to do with the power of the Tesseract?

dhavami

Chosen answer: Each realm is actually more of a dimension than a single world. So Xandar would be part of Midgard. The orb is the housing for one of the Infinity Gems. The Tesseract is also an Infinity Gem. The stone in Loki's scepter and the Aether from Thor: The Dark world are two others. All 6 gems can be combined on the Infinity Gauntlet which enables the user to do whatever he wishes just by thinking about it. Wielded by Thanos, among others, in the comics.

Question: What happened to the Arkenstone after the epic battle? Also I would like to know, how on earth did an army of Dwarves come to the aid of Thorin Oakenshields when the wood elves were about to attack the lonely mountain? (It's at least not shown in this movie that Thorin sent for any help... And prior to the movie it was always shown as if the entire mission of Thorin to retake the lonely mountain was a secret. This makes me think that it was strange for the dwarves to have known about the retaking.

dhavami

Chosen answer: After the battle the Arkenstone was placed with Thorin in his tomb. It is shown that during the siege, prior to the battle, Thorin sends out a raven which returns shortly before the Dwarves arrive. This raven carried the message to ask for help. The mission to retake the mountain was not a secret among the Dwarves, Thorin had sought an army to help them from the beginning but only the few who went on the journey were willing.

Not quite, the mission to retake the mountain was organized by Gandalf and Thorin, who lived in exile with his family and small group of followers. Dain and other Dwarves did not know, as Gandalf never shared this information with anyone, not even Elrond. It was only after Thorin and Co. Actually arrived in Erebor that Thorin asked the ravens to travel to any Dwarf settlement nearby and gather the armies as the Elves and Men would no doubt come back to the Mountain. The raven was actually an old raven, so he only flew to the Iron Hills to get Dain.

Question: What part did I miss to know about the twins at the end of the movie? Also when exactly did Loki lose his weapon to Hydra? Does Loki's weapon have the Tesseract in it?

dhavami

Chosen answer: The Twins are Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, aka Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, who appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Loki's staff was recovered by SHIELD after The Avengers, but of course, SHIELD had HYDRA agents in place to take it. Loki's staff is powered by the Mind Stone, one of the infinity gems.

Question: What exactly was the role of Martina in the movie? Was she spying on Hulk in any way, as she lived in the same building as Banner as shown while he was being chased by Blonsky? Or was Banner in love with her while he was in Brazil?

dhavami

Chosen answer: Neither. Martina was simply a woman who happened to live in the same building and work in the same factory as Bruce. She was however attracted to him.

Question: Why did Alexander Pierce say to Agent Romanov that she would be okay if her past is opened to the world? To what part of her past is he referring ?

dhavami

Agent Carter (2013)

Chosen answer: No, they are not related. His father used to work with Agent Carter but that is as close as it gets.

Casual Person

Question: Although it's shown in the beginning that due to the leakage and worldwide spread of the experimental drug at the "Gen-Sys" lab the human race was about to end. Yet a few did survive. How exactly then the creator of the drug, James Franco die? Caesar was somehow taken to the very same home James lived and operated there itself, was there any reason to bring Caesar back to his childhood home again?

dhavami

Chosen answer: The circumstances of Will's death are not revealed in the movie, but presumably he either died from the virus or was killed in the violence that erupted after the breakdown of society. Caesar was taken back to his childhood home because he guided them there, presumably wishing to return to a location that he associated with good times while he recovered from his injuries.

Question: Towards the end, when Dreyfus is about to blow up the building from the underground, why didn't Malcolm try and convince the guys to hold up the blow up, rather than picking up the gun and eventually letting it been blown? Also once the C4 is blown how did they survive it when they were right beneath the tower?

dhavami

Chosen answer: He knows that, given what's happened, there's almost no chance of persuading Dreyfus that the apes can be reasoned with, so he tries to threaten them into backing down. Unfortunately, this fails. Malcolm survived the blast because he was able to dive out of the doorway before the C4 detonated. Those who were still in the room died instantly.
