Stay - S3-E2

Other mistake: Duke is checking old copies of the Haven Herald around the time of Lucy (27 years ago). A headline on the one he's reading is about Lucy's disappearance. A moment later, he's reading a story about a meteor shower that occurs every 27 years; but the text we can see states that it just happened, and refers to dates in 2010 (having just happened, not '27 years from now'). This paper is supposed to be a 1983 edition. Also there is fake Latin 'filler text' printed in some columns.

DavidRTurner

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Lucy's disappearance is at the top of the newspaper and the hunter storm is at the bottom of the same page. Also, the paper predicts the next storm to occur. Just like how we know when to expect the next lunar eclipse or the next meteor shower, so I don't see how this is a mistake.

It's not a prediction of events to come, it's an article telling about the recent event, which states it was seen on the morning of the October 21, 2010. It even compares the 2010 shower to a previous shower that occurred in 2009. The mistake is valid.

Factual error: When Audrey turns on the car radio to listen to the baseball game score, the LCD display turns to the time.  When she turns it off, it shows the tuner. This is the opposite of how car radios function - the sound editor must have been dubbing in the sound, and missed this).

Continuity mistake: After running the roadblock and getting shot in the shoulder, we see Hopper's shirt with a bloody patch about 3" x 2." Trivia: When Barry is checking the results of his tests in the police lab, he turns to the computer to view the screen. The camera changes to see the screen, and for just a moment (just a few frames) we see what was on the screen before his results - a couple of stolen car reports, one of which is that of "Joliet Jake Blues" (from the Blues Brothers movie). The Lost Reindeer - S14-E11

Character mistake: When Russell is reading the bio for the suspect who had dressed as a reindeer at the party and was looking for her contact lens, the bottom of the page lists "Identification Databases Checked:" and lists several states and 5 cities under each one. Alabama and Colorado have the same 5 (Alabama) cities listed. Also, the form lists several pieces of information - Class, DOB, Height, Weight, Eyes, Eyes, Hair, Restrictions, Contact Lens Serial No and Criminal History and Occupation. (Yes, "Eyes" is there twice.) The first "Eyes" field lists a name (emergency contact?), which illustrates how badly the prop department prepared this form. Lastly, despite the suspect's DOB being 04.12.1987 (either April 12 or December 4), and this episode taking place in December 2013, Russell states that she is 23 (but should be 26). (00:15:20)

Gus Walks Into a Bank - S3-E8

Trivia: Alan Ruck, who plays the bank robber, is (arguably) best known for his role in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, where his character's name is Cameron. In this episode, Ruck plays a bank robber who takes hostages, including Gus. The SWAT commander that attends the bank robbery (a character who hasn't existed before) is named Cameron. Possibly a deliberate choice given Psych's frequent pop culture references. ADDITIONAL: Series 8, Episode 3 - Ruck co-stars as a news weatherman; when Shawn introduces himself, he says .".and this is Gus, my black Cameron" - a much more clear reference to the Ferris Bueller character.

Escape From L.A. (1996)

Other mistake: When Snake lands in LA in the sub, it shoots out of the water, lands on a concrete pier, and hits a wall at a very high speed. Its future technology must be why it doesn't crumple up like a tin can; but Snake exits the sub just fine, despite there being no apparent safety harness. Escape From L.A. mistake picture

Other mistake: When Snake starts up the sub, the turbine is referred to as being at 75% power. The display shows "0.75" which is 75%, but there is also a "%" symbol above the numbers. Either the display is bizarrely constructed or the power output is stated incorrectly. (00:21:20)

DavidRTurner

Other mistake: At the end of the movie, when the President puts the cassette tape into the player, the printed text is upside down on the player. The model is a Sanyo MT4200, which was an unusual unit; it had a TV on the side, and the dual cassettes on the top. But as we see his hand 'drop' the tape in, it must be on its side - there is no reason for it to be on its side, and no reason for the cameraman not to have turned it around so the text was right-side-up. (01:34:00)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: When the President shoots the Duke with the machine gun from the wall, the first stream of bullets rips up the Duke, as we see multiple exit holes through his torso. The President lets loose another stream, and yet another - but just after the 3rd stream, the camera changes to the Duke, alive and without the holes just ripped through him, only to be 'killed' by this 3rd stream (where we also see the blood pack the actor is wearing). (01:29:45)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: When the taxi crosses the bridge and gets split in two by the mine, the front half does a 180-degree turn and the rear half continues straight. The camera angle changes, and the front half is now going straight, and the rear half turns and slides to a sideways position. (01:24:50)

Question: When Snake and the others run away from the WTC, is the building an accurate representation of the real building(s)? I can find lots of images online of WTC 1& 2, and they appear to have the columns all the way to the ground, where in the movie, the ground level is about 20 feet high with no columns. (01:21:55)

DavidRTurner

Answer: The original World Trade Centers did't have columns as such. The floors were supported by the outside "skin" to make more useable space inside. The entrance (lobby) to the WTC has an open look from the outside the floor doesn't have to supported because it's the ground floor.

stiiggy

Trivia: As the Duke confronts Snake and the others at the base of the WTC, he is standing on a mobile, steam-driven platform (not spoken about, so not explained). This is essentially what a Segway is, but 15 years before they were introduced. (01:21:30)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: When Snake first rescues the President from the Duke's railcar, the two of them walk beside the train. They walk the whole length of car #2205, then they walk it again. The 'new' car has some graffiti on it; either the filmmakers used both sides of the car, or added the graffiti to make it look different, but they forgot to change/erase the car's big yellow numbers. (01:00:10)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: When Snake, Brain and Maggie drive down Broadway, away from Brain's place where the Duke is, a number of people are attacking the car as it drives. Without anyone running down the street with the car, we see a group of people twice, possibly more. Easiest to notice are 3 specific guys in the same position beside each other at both locations. (00:56:15)

DavidRTurner

Other mistake: When Snake is injected, and his timer is set to 23:00, Hauk tells him the glider is waiting. The next scene has Snake getting into the glider, but when he radios in, Hauk says there's 21 hours left. Snake was pretty upset that he didn't get a full 24 hours; knowing his life is on the line, why would he take 2 full hours to walk out the door and over to the glider that was waiting for him? (00:24:00 - 00:24:55)

DavidRTurner

Factual error: When Air Force One crashes into the office building, the security force monitors show the escape pod falling to the ground - inside the building. Normal physics would dictate that the pod would 'slide' across the floor of the building it crashed into, not smash through 20 floors towards the ground. We can assume the buildings are in disrepair, but it has only been 11 years since the island was turned into a prison. (00:12:30)

DavidRTurner

Character mistake: When the revolutionary fighter commandeers Air Force One (we only know this once she's in control), a Secret Service agent is trying to break down the cockpit door by banging it with the butt of his automatic rifle. The way he's hitting the door, he couldn't break through a cereal box - it's much too weak. Presumably, the actor is taking it easy on the door because it's a cheap prop door. (00:11:15)

They are counting down (illustrating the quick spread of the disease). However, the countdown speed of all of them, is approximately 3% each second - which means humankind would have no more than 20 seconds at this rate. When the female Seeker arrives and approaches the truck, she picks up the gun from about 50 feet behind (and left of) the truck. The position of the crashed Seeker's car would have blocked the gun from going any further. Also; we see her pick up the gun from a very sharp sun/shade borderline - but in the wide shots, we can't even tell where the shade ends and the sun begins - no borderline at all. Other mistake: When Keene is hanging from the pipe in the shaft, he falls from it, and in the first second we see him falling naturally, in a 'standing' position. The camera angle changes, and he is now falling in a 'lying down' position. As well, when he hits the bottom (the nuclear cooling water), he doesn't splash further than a foot or so into the water. Other mistake: When the team is in the grocery store, they rewind the security videotape (they play it backwards). They stop it at the last activity, when a man comes in and chainsaws his own head off. The body (and head) have gone blue/purple, and since everyone else died the previous night, we can assume that he cut his head off around 12 hours ago. At high speed reverse play, the time they spent rewinding would be only around 10 or 15 minutes of recorded time. (00:32:50)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: The Army Humvee arrives in Piedmont and finds the townsfolk all dead. The timecode on the truck's video recording is 22:13 hours. When the team gathers to learn of the situation, they are shown this video. The General then presents a video he says is 2 hrs later, the view from the drone with infrared film. The time code on this, is 3:15. Both were shot in the same place, and both would be local time, so the time is wrong. More to the point, the original drone footage did not have any timecode on it. (00:18:40)

Continuity mistake: It is established in the film that the Graboids have 3 'tongues' - but when the women are trapped in the wagon, they shoot two of the tongues of the Graboid hunting them, then two more tongues come out of it. (01:28:35)

Suggested correction: Earlier in the film, Hiram, Kelly and the other guy had been shooting at several of the creatures in that shock and shooting their tongues. It is probable that this was one that had a tongue injured by bullets.

Quantom X

Factual error: In the muling station, Juan is at the telegraph when a Graboid comes up from underneath him. As he is flung up into the air, he 'hangs' there for just enough time to disprove the law of gravity. Also when the Graboid breaks through the floor, it is just behind Juan, which would have sent him forward (over the telegraph) - yet he is thrown backward. (00:57:30)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: When the Dirt Dragons show up at the muling station, after the trio shoots at them, Kelly is emptying his gun of the used cartridges, but then they turn to shoot it behind them - Kelly doesn't reload, but is shooting. There's only about 2 seconds for Kelly to open his jacket, pull out more bullets, load the gun and fire - not enough time. (00:51:55)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: As the trio are bedding down for the night in the muling station, we see Juan walk behind Hiram who is standing still; the camera angle changes, and we see Hiram walking in front of Juan, who is now the one standing still. (00:50:05)

Tremors 4: The Legend Begins mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Hiram, Juan and Kelly first see Old Fred's wagon in the distance, the white tarp on it is draped across it and down one side. When they arrive at it, it's draped differently. They also arrive at it from the side, when they were approaching from straight in front on it. (00:46:15)

DavidRTurner

Revealing mistake: When Hiram, Juan and the boys are camping out on their way to the mine, one of the cowboys is hit by a couple of Dirt Dragons (one from either side) as he runs to the others. His body is tossed one way, then the other (as they hit him), but then sort of 'jerks up' against gravity, indicating he is being lifted by a wire. (00:24:55)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: We see Hiram loading the shot in the punt gun - then the camera shows each character loading their gun, and then the punt gun is being loaded again. (01:16:50)

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: In the final scene, when Burt leaves Melvin on the rock with El Blanco nearby, Burt says goodbye to Melvin and begins driving away. His door is wide open as the car begins moving - the camera angle changes and it's now closed.

DavidRTurner

Factual error: When Miguel gets knocked over the hillside by the ass-blaster, the camera shows how/where he falls - the speed of his fall is no more than 1/3 of how a body would really fall. Also, he falls right next to the cliff; bit when the gang goes down, he is right behind the truck, which we know is about 50-60 feet away from the cliff.

DavidRTurner

Continuity mistake: When the gang first meets an ass-blaster, it flies into the sky, circles back and flies down towards them, quickly. The camera angle changes to its point of view, and for several seconds the view does not change - as if he'd just stopped in mid-air.

DavidRTurner

Other mistake: When Jack is using the chainsaw to dig Burt out of the Graboid, we do not see where he is cutting, but we do see sparks fly just before he stops and puts the saw down. The chainsaw angle does not match the sparks' direction.

A Boy and His Dog (1975)

Plot hole: When Vic steals the food from the group in the desert, we see he's been standing about 100 yards from them, all the while they've been digging. This is filmed on the Bonneville Salt Flats, with completely flat ground for miles around. Did the group just not notice a guy (and a dog) standing that close to them? Did they not think of protecting their site with a guard (there are 2 kids and a cripple there, but even they don't notice Vic until he's just ten yards away, running towards them)? As well, the crime 'boss' character allows Vic to get away and does not chase him - he even laughs that someone has the guts to try it. Food is very precious in this world, and nobody would likely allow this theft, much less a criminal boss. (00:15:45)

Other mistake: At the end of the film, as Will and Sylvia run from the time mission after giving away the million years, they run out of downtown and towards the border of the Zone. Raymond drives to that border, gets out of his car and runs towards them. The area is a desolate, empty road, with no buildings or other obstructions to the view - one can see miles across the landscape - yet Will and Sylvia don't see Raymond running towards them until they are within 50 feet of each other. In Time (2011)

Continuity mistake: When Will and Sylvia's car hits the stingers (spike strips) that blow out the tires, they are driving on the 'right' side of the road. Off the edge of the right side is a grassy area. Will veers to the right trying to stay in control, then the camera angle changes, and we see he is on the other side of the road veering left, where the concrete river is. The camera angle changes, and they are back on the right side, just before another angle change where they fly over the edge... Of the left side. Perhaps there was originally a wide shot showing the car veering way across the road and back; but in the final edit, what we see is a big continuity mistake. (00:46:15)

In Time (2011)

Continuity mistake: When the Minutemen's trap crashes Will's car, they check Will's time and say "he's got minutes. He'll wake up dead." This tells us he has very little left. When he escaped the party the night before (so this is perhaps 10-12 hours later), he had just 2 hours on his clock. Additionally, Sylvia wakes with just 32 minutes, and Will is still able to share some time with her. Yet he gives her only about 4 minutes.

In Time (2011)

Continuity mistake: When Will escapes the party with Sylvia as hostage, he barely avoids an accident with an armoured car, into which the Timekeeper Raymond crashes. As Will leaves the scene, he is driving on the left side of the road. The camera shifts to Raymond for a moment, then back to a rear view of Will's car, now driving on the right. Suggested correction: Yes they are next to each other but there is no direct link from 12 to 4. You would have to go 12 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 5 - 4. Which is the only route you can take that includes zone 8. This is silly as there are quicker routes such as 12 - 7 - 5 - 4.

Revealing mistake: The producers have not taken enough generic shots of the places the gang hangs out at; the Royal Diner, & the Founding Fathers. If paying attention (or, watching multiple episodes in a row), one will notice the same people wandering down the street an awful lot! As well, outside the Royal Diner, there's a weird-shaped street corner, that appears to force all traffic in front of the Diner. The Pain in the Heart - S3-E15

Character mistake: Zach, from his hospital bed, says he used 3 grams of the monomer to make the explosion. 3 grams of a powder would be a very small amount; less than a teaspoonful. But when he actually did use it, he took a loose amount in a large tablespoon. Zach would have carefully measured it in order to be precise; but he did not. So this is a factual error in what he says; it is also a character mistake in that Zach is the personification of technical accuracy, and would never take a casual spoonful - especially of an explosive.

Other mistake: The Gorgomon's bank vault discovered earlier in this season, is cluttered with 'stuff'. But in this episode, Zach discovers that multiple mirrors in the area were placed with care (and not randomly) to allow an video/audio device to see 'all parts of the vault'. First-I doubt any camera would be good enough to see much of anything except the one mirror it was looking at, much less multiple mirrored views (Zach used a laser to show the mirror positions). Second-the Jeffersonian staff are examining all the 'stuff' - they'd have to move some things to use equipment, etc. to check them out. It can be assumed they would have put things back in their original place/position, but it would have been impossible to re-place everything in so precisely the same position that the view, via multiple mirrors, would be the same.

Added to that is the fact that her LEFT arm was hit - the arm that would have been on the 'inside/centre' of the front seat (the bomb went off on the right side of the car), and on which she was most likely lying - completely protecting that part of her body. Continuity mistake: When Tony & Ziva meet their contact in Naples, we see a local cop walking down the background behind them, and passing a walkway to the boat. Seconds later, as the camera changes view, we see that cop about 30 feet back, going the same way.

Game of Death (1978)

Other mistake: When the bad guys are taking the cash from the vault, they finish with just 3 duffel bags. Yet there are blocks of cash along all the walls, roughly 25 times as big as what they're taking. With the duffel bags supposedly containing $100 million, there would be tens of billions of dollars for the taking. Their escape route is up the elevator to the roof, and into a helicopter. What bad guys wouldn't take all they could carry?

Game of Death (1978)

Continuity mistake: When Wesley arrives at Redvale, he goes down into the vault area. When he turns the corner (just a few feet down from the lobby), he sees the bodies of the slain guards on the floor. The vault area is not cordoned off, not closed to the public, and wide open to view by anyone stepping just a few steps down the stairs. Yet there is nobody anywhere to be seen - despite this being the middle of a workday, and the lobby being busy with people just a few minutes before.

Game of Death (1978)

Other mistake: Like many movies, the security guard at the front desk of Redvale appears to have intimate knowledge of the CEO's personal calendar, and can verify their appointments - such as the bad guys when they show up. Not impossible, but very very unlikely.

Game of Death (1978)

Factual error: When the bad guys collect the $100 million in cash from the vault, it's been laid out in just 2 suitcases. According to US government specifications, that much cash (it is mentioned in the movie that it is in $100 bills) would be a single pile nearly 50 feet high (about 10 times what is shown) and 1,000kg - a full ton of weight.

Hannibal Rising (2007)

Continuity mistake: When Hannibal first kills the butcher near the lake, he has crippled him with sword slashes, then walks about 7 paces away from the man (say, 15 feet); he then turns and without stepping closer, slices his head off. (00:40:20)

Leap of Faith - S5-E5

Continuity mistake: The pill bottle the agents recovered from the house has the Doctor's name "Fleming" to search for. But when McGee searches the NCIS system, he spells the name "Flemming" and gets his results. As well, the scrip sheets for Dr. Flemming archived on the computer, contain several identification numbers - DEA (AJ0000000000), Batch (00000001) & License (C00000.) - not real numbers - so the prop master didn't even try to fake any of them. Super Tanker (2011)

Continuity mistake: When the trio are about to enter the maintenance tunnel under the cargo hold, there is nothing in the tunnel. Morgan tosses a single bag in to start crawling through it, but she crawls over another bag already in the tunnel. (00:57:30)

Continuity mistake: As Jimmy & Oz drive from Oz's house to the city, the background behind Oz's side of the car changes from a new suburb in a wooded area (with a degree of unfinished construction) to a large, long-completed residential valley, and back again. (00:11:30)

CSI: NY (2004)

Brooklyn Til I Die - S8-E12

Other mistake: Danny & Hawkes see a customer list on a shopkeeper's computer. Computer issue: Not only can she print the list and bypass a print option popup window with a single keystroke (implausible), but there are no icons/links on the page for software to do anything with that list. As well, the window scrollbar shows that there are nearly two pages of content on that screen, yet it appears to be a single complete page for the camera. Technical issue: The list contains 27 customer names - but one is repeated (Ryan Jackson). Later in the episode, they cross-reference that customer list (then printed on an opaque board in Mac's office, with that same duplicated name), against a company's employee list on Lindsey's pad computer. She was "able to notice one last name in common," yet there are three last names on the employee list also on the customer list, and one of those last names has two people listed - so that's four people who could have connections, yet only one was checked.

Das Boot (1981)

Other mistake: Prochnow drives to the boatyard in the opening scene - the drunken crew at the side of the road initiates him by pissing on the car as it passes. His passenger had just rolled down his window, when he saw the crew, but there is no evidence that he rolled it up before passing the crew. (00:04:55)

Sliders (1995)

Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome - S2-E8

Continuity mistake: When Wade enters the recording studio to see Rembrandt, we can see him reflected in the window removing his headphones and handing them to an assistant. The camera angle changes and he removes the headphones (again) & puts them down on a stool.

Family - S5-E2

Revealing mistake: Part 1 - As Tony eats his donut, and spills the jelly on his shirt, it's clear that (the actor) is moving his body to make that 'accident' happen as scripted. As the jelly begins to leak out, he doesn't move; because it doesn't fall as expected, he jerks suddenly, to make the jelly fall on his shirt. He stops moving, 'shocked' at this, holding the donut with both hands. Part 2 - The camera angle changes to 'behind' him, and he is only holding the donut with one hand. Part 3 - He then grabs at a napkin (just out of frame) to clean it off; the camera cuts to Ziva briefly, then back to Tony, who does not have any napkin. (00:24:55)

Show generally

Other mistake: It would appear that (as late as early-Season 5), almost all screen shots of computer forensics include the same hard drive properties screen - it seems to be the same hard drive each time - 111GB, with 93GB used and a 129kb private container on it. I have not noticed whether they are all named drive G:, but several have been. The only thing that changes is the 'header' section, which is manipulated each episode to show something specific (but not real) for the TV audience to read.

Trojan Horse - S4-E23

Continuity mistake: When Tony tells Ziva he won't help her track down the remaining 'Smiths', a woman in the background is walking down the stairs; as Tony stands up, she takes two steps down from the lower landing. When the camera shot changes on Tony, she's back on the landing. (00:25:15)

Family - S5-E2

Visible crew/equipment: As Gibbs, Ziva and Tony enter the Nelson home with guns drawn; just after Ziva enters, a man can be seen reflected in the door's window (Gibbs and Tony are in frame, and there is no other character there). Tony enters, then Gibbs - and we see the cameraman reflected also. (00:19:45)

DavidRTurner

Family - S5-E2

Other mistake: When McGee tells Gibbs that Nelson erased his entire hard drive, the camera shows the diagnostic he is running - "Primary Drive Erased: 100%." Yet the details below show 93GB used of 111GB total, and the drive letter is G: (not C: as it would most likely be.) It could be argued that his C: drive is simply an OS drive, and G: is his data drive, but still, 93GB used is not 'erased'. (00:22:05)

In the Dark - S4-E22

Revealing mistake: When Tony is telling Gibbs & Ducky that Abby got a hit on the dead sailor's fingerprints, Gibbs takes the file from Tony; the camera shows the file, which appears to be a legitimate profile sheet, but in the comments section, is the script that Tony just read aloud. (00:07:36)

Head Case - S3-E15

Visible crew/equipment: Just near the end, as Ducky faces the other M.E. in Autopsy with his guilt, the camera shows a person reflected in the silver wall (who would be standing beside Ducky). It's not Ducky, as the M.E. is looking at and talking to Ducky with a different angle. The person appears to be dressed in medical scrubs, but the M.E. and Ducky are the only two in the room. Hostel (2005)

Continuity mistake: When Paxton & Kana escape the factory by stealing a car, he checks his rear-view mirror to see the car pursuing him - the road has a dividing dashed white line on it. When the angle changes to see them driving away from the camera, there is no line on the road. Approx. time code 1:20:00.

Nothing for Something - S7-E20

Continuity mistake: In the coffee shop, Don & Mac are having breakfast; Raymond arrives, looks down at Mac's belt & sees his gun & badge beside each other on his right hip. A minute later, after Raymond leaves, Mac exits the coffee shop looking for Raymond; his badge has jumped to the opposite side of his belt. (00:09:30)
