Deliberate mistake: When the pilots are flying in the airplane there's a strange device above the co-pilots head. Later in the movie we see this same prop used again inside of the spaceship as the alien beauty Tanna opens up the hatch. (00:04:35 - 00:36:30)

Deliberate mistake: Rosemary believes that her baby is alive and proceeds to the closet that connects her apartment with the Castevet's and it takes well over a minute, and a bit of noise for her to undo the shelves. Dr. Sapirstein and Guy would have had to do the exact same thing when they broke into the apartment in the previous scene but it took them less than thirty seconds including the time it took to get into the Castevet's apartment from the hallway. Deliberate mistake: As Hutch entered their apartment with his overcoat buttoned, his gloves were in the jacket pocket underneath and not in the overcoat. Later we see him take them out of his jacket and leave them on the coffee table as he speaks to Roman. Before he leaves Guy goes to the closet and gets Hutch's coat and the one lone glove appears where it shouldn't be, back in his overcoat pocket. (01:01:50 - 01:07:20)

Deliberate mistake: As Rosemary is prepared to be raped by the devil she is lying on white sheets. In the next shot as she is being raped she's on black satin sheets. (00:47:30)

Deliberate mistake: Guy surprises Rosemary and tells her that maybe it's time that they can start having children. They have a romantic evening together (at least until the Castevet's show up) and there's a shot of the record player. A lot of time has gone by since Minnie and Laura-Louise paid Rosemary a visit and we saw the record player before, but everything is exactly the same, the yellow garbage pale in the kitchen, the shadows on the wall, and the same record playing on the record player. They obviously edited in the same shot from before. (00:30:25 - 00:37:30)

Deliberate mistake: Two trucks with magnetic interference units on them are shot at by the aliens and the exact same sequence is used again three shots later as they shoot at them again. (01:18:35)

Deliberate mistake: The aliens fire on a bell tower with a clock on it. In the next shot a different building blows up. (01:17:15)

Deliberate mistake: As the saucer lands on the White House lawn the aliens walk out and fire on some soldiers, killing them. A few shots later we see them walking backwards into their spaceship as the film is obviously run backwards. (01:16:25)

Deliberate mistake: After the aliens announce their intentions Dr. Marvin meets with Carol back at their hotel room. He tells her that she must take a flight alone back to Palm Springs and then leaves the room. In the end of the scene she picks up a copy of The Evening Star, which is an obvious prop as it has no date on it. (01:08:50)

Deliberate mistake: Father Merrin says, "It is He who commands you", and we hear and see the ceiling crack above his head. In the next shot we see the ceiling above him and they are no cracks in it, but four shots later we see the exact same spot and now cracks appear even though we hear no more cracking over-dubs after the first one. Deliberate mistake: Det. Kinderman walks up the stairs where Burke Dennings fell to his death and looks up at Regan's window. This could not possibly be the outside of her window because when we see the room from the inside as Chris closes the window near the beginning of the movie, there's at least 6 to 8 feet between the window and corner of the house. Now when we see it as he looks up, the window is right at the corner of the house. (01:12:35)

Deliberate mistake: Det. Kinderman appears between shots sitting on the bleachers as Father Karras is out for his early morning jog around the track. (01:03:00)

Deliberate mistake: As the alien ship attacks and destroys the bomber with it's ray gun we see stock footage of a different WWII bomber being destroyed by the German Air Force. (00:57:15)

Deliberate mistake: After the alien ship destroys the bomber, Dr. Marvin picks up the helmet and they all start to run back to the car. In order to save time in repositioning the camera they start out 50 feet behind where they just were in the previous sequence and run back to the exact same spot. (00:57:50)

Deliberate mistake: As the alien spaceship attacks a bomber we see it superimposed through the windshield. The pilots never react because they're not actually seeing it and are poorly directed. (00:57:10)

Deliberate mistake: After Hubert exit's the French Plantation dinner scene the stage lighting on Roxanne and Captain Willard shuts down abruptly before their close-ups. There's no one there to touch a light switch and we can see outside and the natural lighting hasn't changed. (02:13:30)

Deliberate mistake: None of the helicopter's in the movie have the Army markings seen on Vietnam era Hueys. The most you'll see is some crooked, faint and inaccurate stencils in the wrong spots. (00:37:50 - 00:51:25)

Deliberate mistake: Some of the children that are running in front of the superimposed background were never in the classroom. For example the blonde girl in the blue and white sweater in the middle of the second shot and the girl in the green sweater in the center of the third shot were not there. (01:13:40)
