Corrected entry: Jedi are not supposed to have a lot of possessions, yet when Anakin leaves Tattooine, he gets to take a whole pack of stuff with him. Because Qui-Gon is so sure that the Council will want Anakin trained, he shouldn't have asked or allowed Anakin to bring stuff from his old life.

Correction: First of all its not a lot of stuff only a small backpack, second of all the boy would have a hard enough time having to leave his mother, why make it harder on him by denying him a few possessions for the trip.

Family Guy (1999)

Correction: This is a character mistake at best. Peter's father is a bit more extreme than most (after all he has called the Pope "soft") and since he's in a hurry to Get Stewie baptized he makes a mistake. Besides a baptizing done by a layperson would usually require that a priest performs a conditional baptizing at a later point, so even if he did it wrong it would still be valid if the intention was to have it redone by a priest later.

Firewall (2006)

Corrected entry: In the film, Jack borrows his daughters iPod. When he is questioned about how he is going to use it, he says "10,000 songs, 10,000 files, it won't know the difference." The iPod however was a mini iPod which does not have the capacity to hold 10,000 songs.

Correction: It's just a figure of speech, the original iPod was heavily marketed on the ability to store 10,000 songs; so for someone to use this phrase about one of its "descendants" isn't really that strange and certainly not a mistake.

Corrected entry: When entering the Death Star's center Lando orders Wedge to go for the energy regulator at the north tower. But since they are in space there is no northern direction because it takes a planet and its magnetic field to pinpoint north. And it is highly unlikely that the Death Star would have such an magnetic field since it would be quite different from that of a planet, considering that it is full of technology that might create magnetic fields itself.

Correction: It was a figure of speech like when you say tie fighters at 3 o' clock. He was saying that Wedge should take out the energy regulator on the tower above them.

Andreas[DK]

Corrected entry: While in the droid factory Anakin's cloak gets caught on the tip of his lightsaber for a second when he takes it off.

Correction: This submission is way too vague. Anakin keeps his cloak on all through the droid factory scene and at no point was I able to spot the lightsaber getting stuck on it.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: In the scene where David shows everyone how he can penetrate the fortress, he specifically says the only way to disable the shields in all the ships is to detonate a bomb in the mothership (he says it quickly towards the end of his little speech so pay attention) - But the shields go down way before they detonate the bomb, the shields go down as soon as they upload the virus.

Al

Correction: David clearly says during his demonstration and I quote: "If we plant a virus into that mother ship it's gonna filter down into all the corresponding ships below." Then a few sentences later he says: "We then upload the virus, set off some kind of explosion which'll disable it."(It being the mother ship, not the shield.) So the primary purpose of the bomb was to destroy the mother ship (it couldn't be attacked by fighters since it wasn't in our atmosphere). The shields on the other ships would already be down when this happened.

Andreas[DK]

Corrected entry: If anybody has seen Starship Troopers 1, they would know that the person who plays the sarge in number two, was the captain of the ship that Denise Richards was on in number one. She died by getting crushed by a door, so how is she the Sarge in number 2 if this movie takes place after the first movie? Can't happen.

Correction: Brenda Strong plays Captain Deladier in the first movie and Sgt. Dede Rake in the sequel, I.e. two completely different characters in two movies that basically only share name and theme. Since there is no reuse of characters from the first movie this isn't a mistake.

Sin City (2005)

Corrected entry: When Miho stabs her swords into the car, there is a delay between shots of her stabbing down and the blades coming through the roof of the car.

Correction: Yes there is a delay, but it is entirely intentional. It is within standard convention for a movie to repeat, especially action shots, from different angles or different perspectives.

Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: When Preston is beating the guys up with the spikes coming out of the handle of his guns, when he breaks the first guy's glass visor you see the spikes are no longer there, but a few shots later, you see him retracting them back into the guns. I had to slow this down to really see it.

Correction: This is completely impossible to see without the use of slow-motion and therefore by the rules of this site the mistake is invalid.

Stealth (2005)

Corrected entry: Going hypersonic is a good plot device, however Stealth fighters operate by avoiding detection on radar and also by people simply looking up and seeing them. Therefore, a "stealth" plane which flies at supersonic speeds is useless. The sonic boom will give them away every time. For example, the F117-A stealth fighter cannot go beyond the speed of sound, and usually flies at night.

Correction: This is simply incorrect. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter can do Mach 1.8 and has stealth capabilities, so why wouldn't a far more futuristic fighter be able to do the same? And in regards to the sonic boom, it is correct that this would reduce the plane's "stealth" but here the planes can use their tremendous speed to catch the enemy by surprise. And since the movie is set in the future you can argue that scientists have invented a plane design that doesn't generate a sonic boom (they have already been able to reduce it significantly in our time).

Space Pilot 3000 - S1-E1

Corrected entry: In the first scene in the place where Fry gets frozen, you can not see a bin anywhere but when Fry says I.C Wiener a bin just appears from nowhere.

Correction: The bin is hidden from view by the desk in the first shots of the cryogenic facility, so it is impossible to say if it's there or not.

The Matrix (1999)

Corrected entry: When Morpheus is showing Neo the construct for the first time they're walking down the street beside a construction site with green cloth covering scaffolding surrounding the building. They walk past an uncovered part that has an ATM and the bank logo is a yellow diamond with the bottom-right part being black. This is the logo for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, nowhere near the USA that the events are supposed to be taking place in.

Correction: It is a training simulator programmed by the free humans, not a part of the Matrix. It can take place anywhere they want it to. Besides, it is never stated that the Matrix takes place in the USA, it takes place in a fictional world created by machines.

Andreas[DK]

Corrected entry: In the scene where one of the brothers is climbing the tower on a rope, there is a pulley in place at the top of the tower. How did it get there? Also, since there was no rope there previously, how did they get the rope through the pulley?

Correction: They use a grappling hook with a pulley and a rope attached to it. Wilhelm is seen holding it when Jacob is preparing to scale the tower and it is shown again on the roof as Jacob reaches the top.

Andreas[DK]

Corrected entry: In the space battle when Anakin starts the explosion inside the space station, a male pilot says "We didn't did it." It's correct to say "We didn't do it."

Correction: The pilot says "We didn't hit it". Even if he had said the line as the submitter suggests, it would only be a character mistake, since a little slip up like that would be understandable in a situation where you are fighting for the survival of your people.

King Kong (2005)

Corrected entry: Carl's sub-plot for being wanted by the New York police is completely ignored upon returning to NYC. Giant ape or no giant ape not only should he have been charged for his previous crime, but also for resisting arrest.

Correction: As we see when Kong premiers in New York, Carl has suddenly become best friends with the executives that previously wanted him arrested. So we can assume that they have decided not to press charges, most likely in return for a percentage of the profits. And it can be hard to prove that Carl actually resisted arrest or he simply departed before the police arrived.

The Farnsworth Paradox - S5-E10

Corrected entry: In "I Dated a Robot" the gang travel to the edge of the universe and see their parallel cowboy selves (which Farnsworth stated was the only parallel universe). In this episode, the box leads to a different (non-cowboy) universe where the outcome of flipping a coin is different. They then all go through many boxes each with many more parallel universes in them. David X Cohen mentions that this is a mistake on the commentary.

Dan Moat

Correction: Even though David X Cohen has admitted it I fail to see the mistake. Up to discovering the various parallel universes in boxes, they thought that the cowboy universe was the only parallel universe. They were clearly surprised when they ended up in the parallel universe with the opposite coin flips, and since "I Dated a Robot" was produced and aired before "The Farnsworth Parabox" there is really no problem continuity-wise.

Stealth (2005)

Corrected entry: When E.D.I. goes AWOL, it shows the DNA opening up and closing, just in a different direction. Only problem is, DNA does that ALL THE TIME. It frequently has to make R.N.A, and to do this it must open up and then close again later. Even if it changed directions, nothing should have gone wrong.

Correction: E.D.I. is a quantum computer, it doesn't have DNA like organic creatures. Instead it has some kind of unknown inner structure that happens to look like DNA but you can't assume that it works in the same way.

Blade II (2002)

Corrected entry: Towards the end Blade is strapped to a table and has spikes run through his wrists and thighs. Later he regenerates himself in blood and the wounds are healed. Fine, but there are numerous times after (the fight with Nomak, etc.) when you can see there are no holes in his pants from the spikes in his thighs. (01:27:44)

Correction: The holes are there. They can be hard to spot since they are quite small and they blend in with the black pants but during the fight with Nomak there are two close-ups of Blade's thighs where the holes are visible.

Andreas[DK]

Corrected entry: When Frodo awakes in the bed in Rivendell, Frodo's shirt is open and the sheet low down on the bed in the first shot, and then his shirt's closed and the sheet pulled substantially higher in the next shot. (01:22:50)

Correction: His shirt isn't closed at any point during this scene it just look closed because the camera angle changes and because Frodo's movements makes the shirt and undershirt change position. The sheet doesn't move further up either although it does look that way. In the first shot the sheet is just below the second latch on Frodo's shirt, (counted from the top) when he starts moving into a sitting position the sheet is still just below the second latch until it slides down to around the third latch.

Andreas[DK]

Corrected entry: Near the start, as Anakin and the politicians start walking away, Jar-Jar says "excuse me" to a large blue creature next to him. In the next, wider shot, there's now another creature between them.

Jon Sandys

Correction: There is no creature between Jar-Jar and the large blue creature. In the tight shot Jar-Jar and the blue creature are standing side by side. As they start to walk, Jar-Jar walks slower than the blue creature so in the wide shot he's slightly behind it, but at no point is there a creature between them.
