Continuity mistake: During breakfast, the phone rings and Alvin sprints across the kitchen to fetch it. It's just Theodore playing back a doctored recording of Dave meant for Miss Miller to hear. So Alvin hands her the phone and listens nearby. Suddenly Theodore messes up by hitting the reverse button instead, and Miss Miller seems puzzled. In the next shot where Alvin panics, look in the background: now there's no cord hooked up to the phone. (00:12:35)

Continuity mistake: Right after the flashback scene in "My Mother," Eleanor cradles the baby penguin close to her. Notice how she's sitting beside a pair of bowls. In the next shot she lifts it up towards the sky, but now the bowls have vanished. (00:55:40)

Continuity mistake: When Eleanor is trying to feed the ailing baby penguin with a spoon, it refuses to eat. So she places the spoon near two bowls at her side. In the following shot Eleanor can be seen dipping a rag into one of the bowls - but now her spoon is nowhere to be found. (00:54:00)

Continuity mistake: When Alvin starts dialing the number to Dave's hotel in Paris, there are 16 buttons on the pad (far too many for a standard phone). But right before the scene changes over to a snoring Dave, his phone now appears with the normal 12 buttons. (00:10:05)

Continuity mistake: When Miss Miller is pulling items of food from a cabinet, the Chipmunks are busy having breakfast. There is a carton of milk on the table right between Alvin and Simon's bowls of cereal. But after a shot of Theodore indulging in his meal, the milk carton is gone. Now Alvin and Simon have two glasses of milk instead, and who knows how they got there because Miss Miller was too busy talking to herself on the other end of the kitchen. (00:11:50)

Continuity mistake: During the full moon sacrifice, Alvin, Simon & Theodore are tied up to stakes and suspended in thin air on a boulder, which seven ropes are fastened to. But down below at a different angle, where alligators are gathering, only six ropes are holding them up now. (01:01:05)

Continuity mistake: As Claudia pedals on her stationary bicycle, a call comes in from Mexico. So she picks up the phone and you can see how a cord is attached near the microphone. When the shot changes to Klaus tanning in his booth, Claudia is visible through its window - but now she's talking on a cordless phone instead. (00:23:55)

Continuity mistake: When Alvin and Brittany are in Athens, they start arguing over who's the hottest act in rock and roll. Notice how he's standing next to a green stool in front of some wooden containers loaded with grapes and apples. But after Alvin says "No you don't!", Brittany loses her cool and walks over to challenge him. However he's suddenly off-screen somewhere and nowhere near the fruit stand. (00:34:10)

Continuity mistake: When Alvin leads everybody to a luggage chute in the airport, he's shown wearing a blue backpack - and he appears to have lost it upon reaching the baggage carousel area. After bumping into Klaus and Claudia he manages to get away with the others, but in one of the following shots his backpack suddenly reappears strapped over his shoulders again. (01:06:35)

Continuity mistake: In the final scene where Miss Miller is sitting next to Theodore adjusting her hair in the car's busted rear-view mirror, the shot changes to Dave opening the passenger's side door. But as he steps in, Miss Miller skids away and Theodore can now be seen sitting with the other Chipmunks and Chipettes in the back seat. (01:11:30)

Continuity mistake: After Miss Miller narrowly dodges a head-on collision with Klaus and Claudia's Rolls Royce, she kicks open her door and steps out onto the highway shouting, "I hope you have insurance, buster!" In the following shot, Miss Miller walks towards the Rolls Royce - but now her door is suddenly closed. (01:09:55)

Continuity mistake: When the Chipmunks and Chipettes are singing "The Girls of Rock n' Roll" in Athens, Alvin starts the second verse by grabbing a small 4-string harp from a nearby statue. In the very same shot he begins to strum it like a guitar, but now one of the strings is missing. Just a couple of shots later, Alvin is dancing in front of Simon & Theodore and playing the same harp - only this time it has five strings instead of three. (00:35:50)

Continuity mistake: When the Chipmunks and Chipettes are approaching an airport in their hot air balloon, Simon reaches over the side and shouts, "We're home!" Notice how he and Alvin are wearing regular long-sleeve blue and red shirts respectively. But in the next shot when Dave's plane draws near, they're now wearing exotic clothes from their trip around the world instead. (01:05:35)

Continuity mistake: When Alvin, Simon and Theodore first open the gates to Klaus and Claudia's mansion, two hot air balloons are visible on the right-hand side harnessed to the ground with four ropes each. But in the next shot, all of the ropes have disappeared. (00:13:45)

Continuity mistake: Right before each balloon takes off for the race, Sophie is seen gnawing on a rope and behind her - on the grass next to the Chipettes' basket - a couple of wooden crates are visible. But in the following shot where the teams are in midair struggling to maneuver their balloons, no crates can be seen anywhere on the ground below. (00:15:35)

Continuity mistake: In the "Wooly Bully" scene where Alvin, Simon and Theodore are suspended on a boulder jammed with elephant tusks above alligator-infested waters, all of the ropes get torched and they eventually drop down. But when the boulder smashes the head of an unlucky gator below, notice how all of the tusks have disappeared. (01:03:55)

Continuity mistake: When Jamal and Dave's cruiser is pursuing Klaus and Claudia through the city streets during "Diamond Dolls," you can see that it has a particular sequence of flashing beacon lights up top: a pair of red lights above the driver's side and a pair of blue on the passenger's side. But pretty soon there's a crash at the four way intersection and, once they notice it, each pair of colored lights has switched sides temporarily. (01:08:25)

Continuity mistake: During the underwater scene, Sisman gets carried away on the shark's back and drops a Theodore doll to the ocean floor, which is soon retrieved by Eleanor. But moments later when she and Jeanette carry Brittany to the surface, the doll is missing. (00:27:05)

Continuity mistake: Before the Chipmunks and Chipettes embark on their hot air balloon race, Klaus hands each team a trunk full of dolls. Theodore decides to take a quick peek inside of his, but in the next shot the trunk is turned completely around. (00:14:40)

Continuity mistake: When Klaus and Claudia greet the Chipmunks and Chipettes at the airport after the girls' balloon lands on the ground, Alvin threatens them with a harpoon having two red feathers attached near the tip. But in the next shot no feathers are hanging from the harpoon, and the balloon temporarily changes to the chipmunks' balloon. Suddenly Simon notices a garbage hatch on the plane and grabs the harpoon from Alvin, but now there are two green feathers on it instead. (01:05:55)
